Job escribe esto en su peor estado: lleno de lepra, muertos sus hijos y sus hijas, robados sus ganados, destruido todo lo suyo. Y en esa situación afirma que Dios puso límite a la superficie de las aguas. Era como si pensara: si Dios es el que pone el orden en el mundo, ¿por qué a mi vida no le va a poner un orden? El orden del mundo es prueba de la grandeza de Dios aun en medio del sufrimiento; y ese orden es el fundamento de la creación, porque todo existe bajo la palabra que Dios habló. El caos nunca tiene la última palabra.
I.Puso límite a la superficie de las aguas, hasta el fin de la luz y las tinieblas (Job 26:10).
AA. Dios fijó un límite y un ciclo natural.
1.
Génesis presenta el inicio de la creación mostrando cómo Dios trae orden a lo que era un caos: no había árboles, no había nada, la tierra estaba completamente vacía.
2.
Y vemos en qué orden Dios comenzó a hacer la tierra: para que tú y yo estemos aquí hoy, y para que hayamos disfrutado la muerte de Cristo y seamos lavados por su sangre.
3.
Este día ya ha sido predestinado. El cielo lo sabe; nosotros lo desconocíamos, pero el cielo ya lo había escrito. Procura que tu nombre esté en esos libros.
4.
Y no hay términos medios: es cielo o es infierno. Dos, nada más.
BB. Job lo escribe en su peor estado.
1.
Era una lepra; le mataron sus hijos y sus hijas, le robaron sus ganados y le destruyeron todo. Job estaba en la peor situación.
2.
Tenía tres amigos que llegaron a machacarle por lo que hablaba. Porque Job quería saber por qué estaba pasando aquello: había hecho bien a todos y buscaba a Dios.
3.
A Job no había nada que criticarle ni que señalarle. Pero Dios, al que quiere probar, lo prueba.
4.
Y era como si pensara: si Dios pone el orden en el mundo, ¿por qué a mi vida no le va a poner un orden?
5.
Lo perdió todo, y su esposa le dijo: ahora tú, muérete, que yo me voy. A ella la describen según cómo actuó: no fue capaz de unirse a luchar.
6.
Diga usted si hemos aprendido de Job o no. Él lo tuvo que sufrir, y nosotros aprendemos de él.
II.El orden del mundo es el fundamento de la creación.
AA. Todo existe bajo la palabra que Dios habló.
1.
Cuando Dios dijo, fue hecho; y en esa absoluta autoridad fue hecho el mundo. El fundamento de la creación lo hizo Dios con el poder que Él tiene.
2.
¿De qué forma está organizada la tierra? Si decimos el mango, ¿cuánta variedad hay? Dios creó ilimitado, en abundancia; y ese bienestar no es para uno solo.
3.
Dios no solo lo creó, sino que mantiene límite y control constante sobre el universo.
4.
Las estrellas no son para adornar el trono de Dios; Dios tiene arcángeles y puede crear toda gloria. Las estrellas son para ti y para mí, para que las veamos. ¿Y a quién vemos en ellas? A Dios.
5.
El sol sale en un orden que nadie puede alterar. Dios dividió el agua de la tierra para que de ahí tuvieran su cosecha, comieran y construyeran sus casas.
6.
La tierra siempre es de Dios; y si el diablo se quiere pasear, ellos tienen un lugar específico, y no es la tierra. La tierra fue creada para el hombre y para la mujer.
BB. El caos nunca tiene la última palabra.
1.
Se separa el agua y se separan las tinieblas, y viene la luz. La creación está bajo la autoridad de Dios.
2.
El Salmo 104 se une a Job 26:10 como afirmación de ese orden: incluso en medio del sufrimiento, el mundo sigue bajo el control de Dios.
3.
La tierra se destruye, comenzamos a sufrir y a dudar; entonces tenemos que ver que Dios ordenó la tierra, y que había una razón: nos quería traer a nosotros.
4.
¿Y por qué Dios lo hizo todo? Para que conozcamos la palabra y para que seamos hombres y mujeres de fe, de provecho en esta tierra.
5.
La tierra no es para presumir: es para ser valiente y echar hacia el frente; no es para vivir atribulado. ¿Cómo, teniendo tanto bien de parte de Dios, nos pasamos reclamando y quejándonos?
6.
Si ordenó la tierra, ha de ordenar. Dios siempre sale a favor de lo que Él creó; y con Dios uno no puede meterse. ¿Qué le pasó a Judas? Enloquece, y él mismo se destruye.
III.¿Quién encerró con puertas el mar? ... Hasta aquí llegarás, y no pasarás adelante (Job 38:8, 11).
AA. Dios responde a Job desde el torbellino.
1.
Le recuerda el mar como fuerza poderosa. En la antigüedad el mar simbolizaba el caos, una energía incontrolable.
2.
Encerrado con puertas es la imagen poética de cómo Dios le puso límite al mar, como si fuera un prisionero detrás de puertas.
3.
Cuando se derramaba se refiere al momento de la creación, cuando las aguas cubrían la tierra. Dios es creador, y además de creador es gobernador absoluto de tu vida.
4.
¿Y por qué nos quejamos? Si quien hace las cosas malas en la tierra es el hombre. Lo hiciste mal y se te descubrió: pues aguántate.
5.
Este lomo hay que doblegarlo; porque si no, todo te sube a la cabeza y te la llena de mil pensamientos, de mil rebeliones y de mil habladurías.
6.
¿Por qué el mar no se sale? Porque Dios le dijo hasta aquí. El mar se podría salir, ¿y qué hace? Obedece. Y si el mar sale, la voz no fue de la naturaleza: fue de Dios.
BB. El orgullo de tus olas.
1.
De Dios yo no opino: de Dios yo aprendo. Si quitó la frontera y el mar pasa y recoge lo que se quiere llevar, ¿quién se lo puede impedir?
2.
A Dios hay que temerle. Peleaste con todo el mundo y sigue peleando; pero acuérdese de que un día va a pelear contra Dios, y eso es un gran peligro.
3.
La naturaleza no es autónoma: no se gobierna a sí misma ni se convierte en su propio líder.
4.
Las olas representan poéticamente arrogancia o poder descontrolado; y aun así Dios las frena.
5.
Si a las olas Dios les ve orgullo, ¿qué de nosotros? En el humano el orgullo es el placer de pretender; y el orgullo es arrogancia. La Biblia nos aconseja que seamos mansos.
6.
Si nos creemos un imperio, la vida nos va a pinchar por todos los lados y nos va a destruir. Al manso es al que Dios bendice.
IV.Él junta como montón las aguas del mar; él pone en depósitos los abismos (Salmo 33:7).
AA. Dios tiene los almacenes del agua.
1.
Junta como montón las aguas es una forma poética de decir cómo Dios domina y organiza el mar, como si recogiera sus aguas en un solo lugar.
2.
Las aguas profundas están bajo su control: esas profundidades grandes e inalcanzables, que Él guarda como si tuviera depósitos para ellas.
3.
Si el agua llega a tu casa, es una crisis de la naturaleza que Dios está permitiendo; quien movió esas aguas es Dios.
4.
¿Quién estremece la tierra? La gente dice que es que hay tanto pecado. Pues sí; y eso que pasa es el dedo de Dios, no la propia naturaleza.
5.
Nada que temer; ni siquiera el mar, que simboliza la fuerza y el caos. Si la tierra me quisiera tragar, fue porque Dios se lo mandó.
6.
Pero mire cómo vive usted: ansioso, lleno de nervios y de temores, viendo monstruos donde no existen. ¿Por qué no tienes a Cristo, que te lavó con su sangre y te llena de paz?
BB. Cuando ponía al mar su estatuto (Proverbios 8:29).

Aquí la sabiduría está personificada, y la Sabiduría es Dios, describiendo su presencia en la creación.
2.
Dios le fijó límites al mar, una ley que no puede traspasar nunca; y hasta las aguas obedecen la orden divina.
3.
Y nosotros los seres humanos brincamos la verja tan fácil, sin saber que está el perro que nos va a comer.
4.
Nada es autónomo, nada se gobierna por sí solo. Tú dices: voy a la iglesia porque me gusta, a veces los mensajes no me gustan. Pero tú no puedes ser autónomo: esto es el cuerpo de Cristo.
5.
Si las aguas traspasaran, serían castigadas; y eso es materia muerta, pero ellas sí escuchan la voz de Dios.
CC. La creación es sabia y ordenada porque Dios la hizo con propósito.
1.
La creación no es caótica ni confusa, sino establecida sobre un orden ya dado. La sabiduría de Dios es anterior a la creación.
2.
Los tiempos difíciles no llegan en diciembre: llegan en su tiempo. Toda la naturaleza lleva su tiempo.
3.
Y si pasa algo que rompe con la naturaleza, es un mensaje que Dios envía al país donde pasa tal actividad.
4.
Ese poder de Dios es infinito, y lo es para el trato que ha dado a nuestras vidas. Hemos visto días de caos; pero Dios es infinito en misericordia para con nosotros. Amén.

The Divine Power Is Infinite
Job 26:10
Introduction
Job writes this in his worst estate: covered with leprosy, his sons and daughters killed, his herds stolen, everything of his destroyed. And in that state he declares that God set a bound upon the face of the waters. It was as if he thought: if God is the one who sets order in the world, why will He not set an order in my life? The order of the world is proof of the greatness of God even in the midst of suffering; and that order is the foundation of creation, because everything exists under the word God spoke. Chaos never has the last word.
I.He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end (Job 26:10).
AA. God fixed a boundary and a natural cycle.
1.
Genesis presents the beginning of creation, showing how God brings order to what was chaos: there were no trees, there was nothing, the earth was wholly empty.
2.
And we see in what order God began to make the earth: so that you and I might be here today, and might have the benefit of Christ's death and be washed by His blood.
3.
This day was already predestined. Heaven knows it; we did not, but heaven had already written it. See to it that your name is in those books.
4.
And there is no middle ground: it is heaven or it is hell. Two, and no more.
BB. Job writes it in his worst estate.
1.
It was leprosy; his sons and daughters were killed, his herds stolen, and everything destroyed. Job was in the worst situation.
2.
He had three friends who came to grind him down for what he said. For Job wanted to know why he was going through it: he had done good to all and sought God.
3.
There was nothing in Job to criticize or to point at. But God, whom He would prove, He proves.
4.
And it was as if he thought: if God sets the order of the world, why will He not set an order in my life?
5.
He lost everything, and his wife said to him: now you, die, for I am going. She is described by how she acted: she was not able to join him in the fight.
6.
Say whether we have learned from Job or not. He had to suffer it, and we learn from him.
II.The order of the world is the foundation of creation.
AA. Everything exists under the word God spoke.
1.
When God said, it was done; and in that absolute authority the world was made. The foundation of creation God made with the power that is His.
2.
How is the earth arranged? If we say the mango, how many kinds are there? God created without limit, in abundance; and that good is not for one alone.
3.
God did not only create it, but keeps constant bound and control over the universe.
4.
The stars are not to adorn the throne of God; God has archangels and can create all glory. The stars are for you and for me, that we may see them. And whom do we see in them? God.
5.
The sun rises in an order no one can alter. God divided the water from the land so that from it they would have their harvest, would eat, and would build their houses.
6.
The earth is always God's; and if the devil wants to roam, they have a specific place, and it is not the earth. The earth was created for the man and for the woman.
BB. Chaos never has the last word.
1.
The waters are separated and the darkness is separated, and light comes. Creation is under the authority of God.
2.
Psalm 104 joins Job 26:10 as an affirmation of that order: even in the midst of suffering, the world remains under God's control.
3.
The earth is broken, we begin to suffer and to doubt; then we must see that God ordered the earth, and that there was a reason: He meant to bring us here.
4.
And why did God make it all? So that we might know the Word and be men and women of faith, of profit on this earth.
5.
The earth is not for boasting: it is for being brave and pressing forward; it is not for living troubled. How is it that, having so much good from God, we spend ourselves complaining?
6.
If He ordered the earth, He will order. God always comes out on behalf of what He created; and with God one cannot meddle. What happened to Judas? He loses his mind, and destroys himself.
III.Who shut up the sea with doors? ... Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further (Job 38:8, 11).
AA. God answers Job out of the whirlwind.
1.
He reminds him of the sea as a mighty force. In antiquity the sea stood for chaos, an uncontrollable energy.
2.
Shut up with doors is the poetic image of how God set a bound to the sea, as though it were a prisoner behind doors.
3.
When it brake forth refers to the moment of creation, when the waters covered the earth. God is Creator; and besides Creator, He is absolute governor of your life.
4.
And why do we complain? When the one who does evil on the earth is man. You did wrong and you were found out: then bear it.
5.
This back must be bent; for otherwise everything goes to your head and fills it with a thousand thoughts, a thousand rebellions, and a thousand rumors.
6.
Why does the sea not overflow? Because God told it this far. The sea could overflow; and what does it do? It obeys. And if the sea comes out, the voice was not nature's: it was God's.
BB. The pride of thy waves.
1.
Of God I do not give opinions: of God I learn. If He lifted the boundary and the sea passes and takes what it will, who can stop Him?
2.
God must be feared. You quarreled with everyone and go on quarreling; but remember that one day you will quarrel with God, and that is a great danger.
3.
Nature is not autonomous: it does not govern itself nor become its own leader.
4.
The waves poetically stand for arrogance or uncontrolled power; and even so God restrains them.
5.
If God sees pride in the waves, what of us? In a human being, pride is the pleasure of pretending; and pride is arrogance. The Bible counsels us to be meek.
6.
If we think ourselves an empire, life will prick us on every side and destroy us. It is the meek whom God blesses.
IV.He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses (Psalm 33:7).
AA. God has the storehouses of the water.
1.
Gathering the waters as a heap is a poetic way of saying how God masters and orders the sea, as if He gathered its waters into one place.
2.
The deep waters are under His control: those great and unreachable depths, which He keeps as though He had storehouses for them.
3.
If the water reaches your house, that is a crisis of nature which God is permitting; the one who moved those waters is God.
4.
Who shakes the earth? People say it is because there is so much sin. Well, yes; and what happens is the finger of God, not nature itself.
5.
Nothing to fear; not even the sea, which stands for force and chaos. If the earth were to swallow me, it would be because God commanded it.
6.
But look how you live: anxious, full of nerves and fears, seeing monsters where none exist. Why do you not have Christ, who washed you with His blood and fills you with peace?
BB. When he gave to the sea his decree (Proverbs 8:29).
1.
Here wisdom is personified, and Wisdom is God, describing His presence in the creation.
2.
God fixed limits for the sea, a law it can never cross; and even the waters obey the divine order.
3.
And we human beings jump the fence so easily, not knowing that the dog is there to eat us.
4.
Nothing is autonomous, nothing governs itself. You say: I go to church because I like it, sometimes the messages do not please me. But you cannot be autonomous: this is the body of Christ.
5.
If the waters crossed over, they would be punished; and they are lifeless matter, yet they do hear the voice of God.
CC. Creation is wise and ordered because God made it with purpose.
1.
Creation is not chaotic nor confused, but established upon an order already given. The wisdom of God is prior to creation.
2.
Hard times do not come in December: they come in their season. All nature keeps its season.
3.
And if something happens that breaks with nature, it is a message God sends to the country where it occurs.
4.
That power of God is infinite, and it is infinite in the way He has dealt with our lives. We have seen days of chaos; but God is infinite in mercy toward us. Amen.

Así lo dice la Biblia. En palabras sencillas: Dios le marcó al agua hasta dónde puede llegar. La pastora dijo que Dios encerró el mar detrás de puertas, como a un prisionero, y le dijo: hasta aquí llegarás.
1Al principio la tierra estaba vacía, sin árboles, sin nada. Dios puso orden: separó el agua, encendió la luz. Y lo hizo para que tú y yo viviéramos aquí.
2Job lo perdió todo: se enfermó, se le murieron sus hijos, le robaron sus animales. Y aun así dijo: si Dios ordena el mundo, también ordena mi vida.
3Las estrellas no son adorno para el trono de Dios: son para que tú las mires y lo veas a Él. Dios creó en abundancia, como los muchos tipos de mango.
4El mar podría salirse y tragarse la tierra, pero obedece, porque Dios le dijo: hasta aquí. Y si un día el mar sale, fue Dios quien lo mandó.
5Si Dios ve orgullo hasta en las olas, ¿qué de nosotros? Al orgulloso la vida lo pincha por todos lados. Y si hiciste algo malo y te descubrieron, no te quejes: aguanta.
6Dios tiene los almacenes del agua; nada se le escapa. Por eso no vivas con miedo viendo monstruos donde no hay. Cristo te da su paz.

¿Qué te da miedo, aunque no sea real?
Cada noche antes de dormir di en voz alta: «Dios le dijo al mar hasta aquí, y a mí también me cuida». Solo eso —una cosa— hasta el próximo domingo.
