The Soldier With The Law Of Christ

TOPIC: "The Soldier With The Law Of Christ" Galatians 6:1-10

The Gospel never suppresses (doesn't make disappear) the dangers of life. To fulfill the Law of Christ is to help others to carry the burdens. We are soldiers of the Law of Christ, we are to love and do good. But, in some soldiers there is a stain, it is the stain of the neglected soldier. There are falls, there are stains on the one who has allowed himself to slip (an error that looks unintentional, generally caused by the lack of care or reflection). Carelessness comes from the lack of interest.

I. We are soldiers of the Law of Christ.

A. If the soldier is careless, he can get stained.

1. There are many reasons or causes for this, but the main one is that this soldier is on a land or battlefield that is hard and difficult. In the midst of the battle what is there is "bad weather," sometimes with drought, sometimes with rain, battling in a place where there are "traps and fiery enemies." There is extreme danger in this battlefield. There is your life in the middle of that war field, if you are not careful you will be defeated.

2. It's most possible that the lack of care has not allowed you to reflect to prepare yourself properly.

3. By not paying attention, you may have fallen into one of the traps in that dangerous mined land (full of mines or explosives) and could be injured. And don't blame someone else, the tripping or falling is for not being a thinking person, it is because you go by your impulse and not by your reflection.

4. You can defend yourself to make excuses, but there is the Law of Christ for you, the law that Jesus left written on His crucified body; it was not in stone.

5. Because of that body no one can write, or speak, or suggest something else. Your thoughts can not be considered, thoughts that come to you from the things you have learned erroneously, whether it's due to family inheritance or to the difficulties experienced, frustrations and so on.

6. The Law of Christ is that which is in an active soldier. That Law says: "Love one another (John 13:34; 15:12) as I have loved you..." Jesus loved and a soldier of Him follows the same rule. To be a good soldier one has to love as He has loved!

7. We comply with this when we carry each other's burdens (Vs. 2).

8. The soldier is trained to carry out "His orders" by the power of the "Holy Spirit”, and his motivation is the love of Christ.

9. We are (Vs. 3) all made of the same dust, there is no one better than the other. When we see the brother fall wounded by the sad minefield we should think that it could have been us; for a soldier to have a superiority complex is a kind of self-deception. Of course, we should never think that by bearing the burdens of others (in their tribulations, in their anguish, "not" their sins) we will be below our dignity.

10. (Vs. 4) There is great evil when comparing ourselves with others, the great problem is finding cause for satisfaction. In the Court of Christ, we will be examined individually and not in comparison with others. We should be careful of ourselves

so that we can rejoice in our work more than in the failures of others. If you are a soldier with the Law of Christ, you are not greater than anyone else.

11. (Vs. 5) In Vs. 4 it is shown that we must suffer pains and problems with others in this present life, and here in this verse it is emphasized that each of us will have to bear our own burden of responsibility before the "Court of Christ."

12. (Vs. 6) Believers are responsible for the sustenance of their Christian teachers. Make the one who instructs you participant of all good things; this means sharing with them the material things of life and also sustaining them with prayer and having a pious interest for them (compassion).

13. (Vs. 7) Although others may not observe our neglect of the servants of God, God sees it and He will give the corresponding harvest. We reap (gather) what we sow and reap in greater quantities of what we sow. When the farmer plants wheat, he mows wheat, sometimes to thirty, sometimes to sixty and sometimes to a hundred times one. That is the Law of sowing and harvesting!

14. The more miserly we are, that's how bad the harvest will be.

15. (Vs. 8) It is not good when you spend everything on yourself, because not everything is for you. There are women who give of what they have to advance the missions; their interests are in God.

16. When the neglected man observes himself as he gets older, he realizes that the flesh, for which he had lived pleasing, is decaying and dying rapidly. Then, in the age to come, "he will lose the eternal rewards." While those who sow for the Spirit will reap (gather) for eternal life (Romans 6:22). Those who sow for the Spirit will enjoy eternal life!

17. (Vs. 9) The rewards are certain, even if they are not immediate; a field of wheat is not harvested the day after planting; that is how it is in the spiritual, the reward certainly follows the faithful planting in due time.

18. (Vs. 10) Doing good! A good heart does good, it is not forced, it flows. John Wesley: "Do all the good you can, in every way you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can." "The day brings you the need, and you respond with your action, with the good you must do, because it is in front of you." Amen.
