Your Father Has Given You the Kingdom

Topic: "Your Father Has Given You the Kingdom" Luke 12:31-34

Luke 12:31 "But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be given to you." Let us seek what we should really seek. Each one is inclined to seek for himself according to what is in the heart. And how many tragedies come when you seek what is contrary to the kingdom of God! The heart is deceitful and if we follow it, then with deceit one will live. When we seek to do God's will the kingdom of God becomes a great reality and blessing. The kingdom of God is given to us and we receive it and move in it while we understand that it is necessary to do His will, as perfect as it is in heaven. But you, do you believe it? The kingdom is given to us and we see its good fruits in our lives when we apply with all our effort to be obedient to the will of God and we are glad to do so. We see that He puts in us the will as well as the act (Philippians 2:13). It is the feeling that comes to us from the Lord and then one goes ahead, and if it is what God wants, then the doors are opened. We should not live in anxieties worrying about the material things and the future; let us not fear, the Lord says in Luke 12:32 "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's pleasure to give you the kingdom." We see that the disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ were few in number. And they were like helpless sheep sent to a wicked world where there are great wolves with much hatred. No one in the world would defend them. But, those disciples, as you and I are, even though we are insignificant to other people, we are DESTINED TO INHERIT THE KINGDOM WITH CHRIST! Then, there is no need to fear. Let us not set our eyes on the things of the earth. What you want to take to heaven from here you have to work it here, and here it will stay. Work for what lasts forever. What you work here that is not lasting will be of burden and pain if you put it first than the kingdom of God. Some are capable of destroying all their life for the perishable things of this world, even though they have been called to be part of the kingdom of God. Remember that when you leave this world you cannot take everything you worked for here. The things of this world that are fought sometimes are to appear greatness. One can see the desire for the material things such as a car or a house, but these things will be prey to rust, mold and moth. What will we eat or what will we wear? You have to see how you have been struggling to dress, but not your body, but "your soul." Let your clothes be the best, but let them be the clothes for your soul. Your clothing should be pity, mercy and kindness. If you have those clothes, they can beautify your soul and then nothing of this world can hurt you. If we seek our treasure high above, in heaven, then the desires of our heart will be directed there. On the contrary, if what directs your life is here on earth, it will be here on earth where your heart will be imprisoned. You choose! There is a Spanish proverb that says: "A shroud (in which a corpse is wrapped to bury) has no pockets.” We take nothing! But, here on earth we see that one lives to accumulate material possessions. So much time is dedicated to that selfish task when we could dedicate much of our

time to the work of the Lord. It is good to invest for the eternity, for what is in Heaven! If you invested in Heaven, the damage and economic situation would not affect your possessions because your heavenly treasures would be fully insured against theft and against moth. The Romans had a saying, they said that money is like sea water, the more you drink the more thirst you have. The problem with material wealth is that, generally, those who come to own it also live to trust in it. You have saved money and accounts and you keep counting to add more and more, even if you know that if tomorrow you die you will take nothing. Remember, that if you have not given of what you have, or you do not eat well for not spending, or have you not done good to anyone, it is that you are living wrongfully forgetting and casting aside the Kingdom of God and His justice. Where our treasure is, it is the law of life, there will be our heart. No matter how much you say "I do not do that", it does happen, the heart deceives us. The big problem is that living to treasure on earth and to worry about the material things rather than to fight for the spiritual is very common today. Open your spiritual eyes so you do not fall into that. Think and realize that the mismanagement of your economy affects the family, the church and everything you own. We have been created and called to be a part and enjoy the Kingdom of God. Let us clearly understand that it has pleased the Father to give us the Kingdom, nevertheless, many live fighting over lands and so many material things. Even if you have or obtain much of this land that is not what belongs to you, but rather it is THE KINGDOM THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO YOU BY INHERITANCE! For long years we have lived seeing these things and still how many have left the kingdom of God because of the material things where they have placed their heart. Do not seek what is of this world, seek the kingdom of God and everything will be added to you! Amen.
