The Sin that brings Death

TOPIC: "The Sin that brings Death" Jeremiah 7: 8-11, 1 John 5:16

Jeremiah 7: 9-10 "steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not, will you come and stand before me in this house which is called by my name, and say, we are delivered; To do all these abominations?" The awfulness of sin is not so much what is in itself, but where it ends if one persists in it. When is allowed again and again flirting with temptation and fall into sin all the time, then the sin will become increasingly easier. And if the person believes he can avoid the consequences each time he sins, disgust, remorse and repentance are going to be dwindled; and finally will eventually reach a state in which it will COME TO SIN WITHOUT ANY FEAR. That is precisely the sin that leads to death! Therefore, once the person begins to indulge in sin and to consider the course of action of his life, that person is on his way to death, because he goes to a state in which the idea of repentance no longer can enter into their calculations. I John 5:16 "If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and God will give life; this is for those who commit sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death, for which I do not mean to be asked." The sin unto death is the state in which the person has heard of sin and refused to listen to God very often and still continues to love his sin and considering it the most normal and pleasant thing in the world. On the wicked is not the Holy Spirit. We are talking about the sin against the Holy Spirit as happened to Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5: 1-5). This speaks of sin being in the church and continue sinning! Ananias and Sapphira knew the law, therefore, were not ignorant of God. Quite the contrary; they volunteered something to God and then not met and therefore were killed. The lack of knowledge was not what brought them to death, for they knew. Nor it was for the sins of their parents. And less would be by deception against the man who they offered to give the money. Look at the picture of deceit, lies and slanders. A lie is an expression contrary to what is known, it is believed or you can think. Deception is the set of words or actions that someone is led to believe something that is not true. It is entangling someone or make fun of him to have indeed something that is not. Blasphemy is a derogatory expression (offense) is said about God or sacred things. Here then comes the problem of knowing where we stand on this earth. "If you see a brother ...". We are talking of the BROTHER; WHO SAYS TO BE A BELIEVER. Ananias and Sapphira, equally, who were they cheating? Peter! They lied about what Peter already knew, about the amount of money. They deceived Peter with all verbiage, is entangle someone, mocking. So it came to this, blasphemy, offending what was God’s. That is the great evil to the holy, fill it with great derision. Jeremiah 7:11 "Is it a den of robbers in your sight this house which is called by my name? Here also I see it, saith the Lord.” We say we are in the faith. We are not talking here of those who have renounced the way of God, but of whom is in the church and is sinning while simultaneously invokes the name of God. He is in sin, sin literally. Even one who sins carelessly, hurt his/her family and the Church. "There is a sin unto death, for which I do not mean to be asked." John says to not pray for this. Num. 15: 30-31 "Over the person who does anything presumptuously, whether native-born or alien, blasphemes the LORD; that person shall be cut off from among his people. Because he hath despised the word of the Lord, and despised His command, he will be entirely cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.” Pride is a feeling of superiority over others. It is a disorderly desire of being preferred to others. It is arrogance and conceit. How could you do to someone what to me is an insult, ridicule or contempt? The

reason is pride. It is to sin with all the senses; it was not unintentionally. Is outraging the Holy Spirit, insult, offend the dignity or honor. He thought little of the sanctity of the living God, which he disdained. So for that he will have the second death. Revelation 20: 12-14. WE SEE THAT SIN OF DEATH IS WHAT DEFIES GOD KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY. The attitude and motive determine the difference more than the sin itself. This is a slight error that quickly one repents and is forgiven; is not a sin unto death. It's terrible if he persists in it, not so much by what is in itself but where one comes to, the worst. Those who deliberately sin the idea of repentance cannot get in their calculations. The sin unto death is the state of the person who has heard of sin and refused to listen to God "as often" they love their sin more and consider it the most normal and pleasant thing in the world. This is individual, this is for everyone and is wanting to be free; it may be that these people pray, but to those who do not want the purity it cannot be imposed. What God can do cannot force the will to go on sinning. God chose not to force the man to remain sinless, He also relinquished the power to compel a sinner to repentance. God made Adam free, gave him free-will, individual freedom. He gave him to live according to his own will. Judas was chosen to be one of the twelve, with Emanuel on earth and he chose to sin. It is useless to pray for forgiveness for the sinner who refuses to repent of their sin. Let us keep this in mind and live a holy and separate life for God. Amen.
