Trusting In His Word Brings Peace

TOPIC: "Trusting In His Word Brings Peace" Isaiah 26:3

"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you." We need to learn more. The grass withers, and flowers fade, but the word of our God will stand forever (Isaiah 40:8). Jesus said blessed are those who hear the word of God, and obey it (Luke 11:28). "So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’" (John 8:3132). When you know the truth of His Word you ARE FREE. Nothing binds you. Nothing enslaves you. Nothing leads you to despair. There is rest in an absolute trust in God. The Bible says: "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you." It says: "... STAYED ON YOU!" So being kept by God in complete peace is for everyone who stands firm, and steadfast in the Word. It is for those who persevere; for those who do not look back, and have a constant disposition towards God's Word. Lord, you will keep him in perfect tranquility, because he trusts you. (Psalms 112:7-8 "He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries…"). Those who truly trust God enjoy complete peace, because of the God of peace (Philippians 4:9 "What you have learned and received and heard and seen in mepractice these things, and the God of peace will be with you."). The God of peace keeps them in tranquility despite all the afflictions. Although there are adversities, God does not lose His peace. He provides that peace for your life; His peace still flows despite the afflictions. We come across many adversities because of the raging storms that attack us. You can prove yourself during the calamity by emerging as a complete warrior. What can be seen as bad luck is nothing but a test of our trust in God. We speak of the unfortunate situations that occur. When it seems that we do not have anything or anyone else to trust; WE MUST ALWAYS TRUST GOD. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS! AT ALL TIMES, WITH ALL OUR HEART, AND WITH ALL OUR MIND. Whatever earthly thing we place our trust in will eventually fade. But if we place our trust in God, we will have peace for eternity. The tie that binds you comes from the fear that takes over you (Proverbs 29:25 "The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe."). Your fear will bind you. Even good or righteous men like Abraham and Peter experienced this. They too were restrained by fear. How many times do you fall into the bait of fear? A fear that anchors you, and “doesn’t allow your boat to leave the dock!" When you’re unable to break free from that leash you cannot navigate, and get to where you need to arrive at. We know about Abraham falling in this trap because of his fear of men. (Genesis 12:11-12 "When he was about to enter Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, ‘I know that you are a woman beautiful in appearance, and when the Egyptians see you, they will say: This is his wife. Then they will kill me, but they will let you live.’") He thought that the Egyptians would kill him

because of Sarah, and he told her: "... Say you are my sister" (Genesis 12:13). In Genesis 20:3 we see that he experienced the same thing with Abimelech, king of Gerar. God had already freed him in Egypt, but his trust falters again. As a result, Abraham GROWS DESPERATE. HE BECOMES BINDED, AND LOSES HIS PEACE. The apostle Peter was also tied, and denied the Master. The noose of fear tied itself around his neck, and feeling as if he was drowning; he denied Jesus because he was no longer in peace (John 18:25 "So they said to him: You also are not one of his disciples, are you? He denied it, and said: I'm not."). Only your trust will let you soar high. Our thoughts should always be on Him. We should persevere with these thoughts, as we are told in Isaiah 26:3. Psalms 125:1 "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever." It is trusting He who called us. This is the blessing of those who trust in God always, no matter the adversity. The promise is peace, peace, peace. They will be like the great Mount Zion, where the strength of David lay. A kingdom of victory rose from there. But the word victory exists because there was a war. When you trust God you will not be faced by anyone. We are the people of God. Since we were chosen by God Himself, He has given us an inheritance. We should trust Him because He called us. We rely on God. We seek refuge in Him. The greater our confidence in God, the stronger we will hold onto the hope that He will come to our aid. God's promises are these: (A) You will enjoy an unshakable security; like Mount Zion. For those living in the holy city of Jerusalem, it was a symbol of permanence. (B) That security was a result of God’s care and protection, which is characterized by the mountains surrounding Jerusalem. No one can or should shake your trust in the truth that He has given you. He will sustain you with His peace, until you get to Him in that glorious day in the future. Amen.
