Walk before Him

STUDY: # 840 –CHURCH IN THE HOUSE FROM: DECEMBER 16 @ 22, 2014

Topic: "Walk before Him" 1 Kings 8: 5-30 We manifest a great splendor, an abundant brightness when we seek God. Whoever wants to shine with grandeur, beauty and intensity in everything that surrounds him must seek God. God is great. He has glory. There is immense splendor in Him, and greatness derives from Him. This takes me back to four or five women who lived in my neighborhood, and how they would pray, and then visited the ill. You could see a divine splendor in them; you could see the light of God in their lives. This was so because those pious women were continuously presenting themselves to the Lord in prayer, in constant prayer to the Almighty God of Israel. The more you seek God, your life will give off a brighter light. The people of Israel lived through different lifestyles as time passed. Depending on how they lived, whether it was near or far from the Lord, they experienced the blessings or suffered the trials. When they sought God, they lived the best times. But when they turned from the Lord, they lost everything. They lost the Ark, the temple and wars against their enemies. When they were close to God, seeking Him in the temple, they had an abundance of everything. When we read here, it can be seen that when the priests filled the sanctuary (of the temple) with the Ark and all the holy utensils, God descended with pleasure, and filled the house with His presence. The priests had to step aside; GOD HAD OVERTAKEN THE ENTIRE PLACE. The village had sacrificed, they had raised and prepared for everything regarding the temple itself. Nothing was missing before the presence of God; there was a town filled with the splendor of God, and filled with His glory. But first, we see there was DISPOSITION AND ORGANIZATION. What does it mean to stand before a living God? First, that in our lives there is the gracious acceptance of God. When a man COMES TO KNOW GOD, he will always experience His revelations, His presence, and His greatness in IMMENSE GLORY! Solomon had prepared a place for God (1 Kings 8:20). We too have prepared a house to worship God. There is the altar, these musicians, these singers who have prepared to bring God the best. And He has given us His splendor because we have walked before Him! Ezequiel and Analia’s (children of Br. Kelvin, our main singer) inheritance will be to walk and stand before Him, they will have His glory. His presence fills any place wherever He descends; that’s what the cloud did, consumed everything; it was too thick. "And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled his temple ... "(1 Kings 8:11). Where He descends nothing else fits, but Him. The people were puzzled, everyone feared, but they could all receive that glory. When the people were with Moses, they could fear the presence of God (Exodus 20: 24-26), but it was different now. His glory was received when they were filled. Thus, wrapped in the presence of God, Solomon executed the solemn act of consecration. What God promises with His mouth, His hands will fulfill. God speaks, and His powerful hand moves when you walk with Him; how much glory you shall have in your life will be seen. We must know that the place of the Holy God is outstanding. "The heavens, even the highest heaven cannot contain you ..." (1 Kings 8:27). God is great, He is not a feeling. He is not something light, He is not of land. He is larger than we think, bigger than the things that are supposedly great for us. I want my people, those who are part of my heritage, to reflect in their lives, and in their walk the God who listens to me, and cares for me. "May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day ... so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays towards this place" (1 Kings 8:29). Let the prayer of your servant and

of your people be heard! We should strengthen our PRAYER. Come to the house to pray; forget about your things, so that your life be filled with more. Do you want more or do you settle? (1 Kings 8:37) Our lives have so many worries! Plagues, diseases, deaths, and misfortune come into our lives. That's when we do not seek God. You can see it in countries that do not seek God where there is tragedy, scarcity, death, wars, so much evil! They do not walk before God, and nothing can bring them splendor. When you feel that the plagues are near, that diseases are coming; extend your knees here in the home and you will see: HIS KINDNESS! God will give each one according to their prayers, according to His ways. God will do good for the heart that knows Him well. Maybe we like to pass off as good believers, but forget it, God will give in accordance to what is in you. Prayer takes us close to God. If there is no prayer, then there is no being near God. And if there is no proximity to Him, there is no glory. We decide how much or how little we want. Amen.
