His Sovereignty Is Forever And Ever

BIBLE STUDY #817- CHURCH IN THE HOUSES TUESDAY, JUNE 17- 23, 2014

Topic: “His Sovereignty Is Forever And Ever” Exodus 40:34-38 God is light and in Him there is no darkness (1 John 1:5). It is in men where darkness dwells. Moses had them construct all the work of the Tent of Meeting, including the courtyard surrounding, just as Jehovah had ordered. And when that great work was finished the glory of God descended and settled upon the Tabernacle. (Exodus 40: 33, 34 “Finally Moses set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and altar and put up the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. And so Moses finished the work. Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.”) The light of that glory that set upon and filled the tabernacle was a splendor created by the Lord, a peculiar symbol of God. (Exodus 40:38 “So the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night…”) Whether the light of fire was or was not an inherent part of the cloud, in that occasion it emanated from it. While making an entrance, not with the speed of lightning but rather with a majestic splendor, it went through the exterior courtyard to the interior of the most Holy Place. Its miraculous feature is shown by the fact that although it filled the Tabernacle, not one curtain of piece of the furniture was scorched or burned. This circumstance demonstrates the inability of mankind in his actual condition to look at the perfection of the Divinity with a revealed face. Moses could not tolerate the clear brilliance, he could not move before that intense and glorious brightness. (Exodus 40:35 “Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled upon it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.”) John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. (We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and only, who came from the Father), full of grace and truth.” The Word became flesh when Jesus was born as a baby in the stable of Bethlehem. He has always existed as the Son of God with the Father in Heaven, but now He wanted to come into the world in a human body. God truly came to this earth and lived here as a Man among men, in a Glory morale; the Glory of a pure, just, perfect and holy life. He brought to earth the light of His life and of His character in all perfection. In Him there was no fault or imperfection, Jesus was perfect in all His ways. We know what happened in the Mountain of Transfiguration (Mathew 17:1-2). Jesus’ face transformed in brilliance like the sun and His clothes bright as the light. John, Peter and James were able to see how Jesus would be when he comes to dwell with us for a thousand years on earth. They were able to see his Glory (John 1:14). They saw His morale Glory, his purity and holiness. Jesus came to earth and lived an absolutely perfect life on this earth. What happened in the Mountain of Transfiguration speaks to us of God’s sovereignty upon the Earth and upon each man created by Him. God does not become depressed or is afraid of your problems, nor does He live in anxiety or depression because He is the God of the universe. You become anguished and depressed and if you rebel you might even believe that your anger can pull Him out of being God, but Jesus is too great, too perfect and almighty. People forms scandals, become feisty, they act annoyed against the holy, but they forget that the power and the wisdom belong to the Almighty God. Daniel 2:20 “…wisdom and power are his.” We see that God revealed to Daniel what no one could tell or explain to King Nebuchadnezzar what worried him so much. And it is that God lives from century to century, and you and I from year to year, no more. The power and the wisdom are His! Daniel responded to God’s kindness with praises! We are not placed here on earth to live complaining and thinking that our situations are greater than God. Then you pay more attention to your flesh than to: HIS GREATNESS! God reveals Himself through deeds of love, wisdom and power. Matthew 6:13 “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one; because yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen” It is like saying: “Do not lead us into temptation, deliver us from our wickedness, from our inclination towards evilness. Deliver me from myself that I myself am the evil one and I can see it and feel it in all my sinning being.” Because it is only God who can do it in your life, deliver you from evil, because the power and the glory is in God. We have confirmed it and reconfirmed it that God is everything and that He is throughout the centuries. We should be more than convinced that the Lord is the only one who can do us something good and marvelous among so much darkness that invades and surrounds us. ONLY HE CAN BRING HIS LIGHT AND SHINE IN OUR TERRIBLE REALITY! Romans 9:19 “One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who resists His will?” Who can withstand Him? Paul insists on God’s right to do what pleases Him most. Who can resist His will? Who has ever resisted His thoughts and His plans with success? God’s plans always have to work for our well-being; therefore, who can take them away? Man is only an impotent laborer before His greatness and His Glory. His power is from century to century! Nothing you can say or do will change what needs to happen because it is like Daniel said: The power and the wisdom, the kingdom and the glory are His forever and ever! IT IS BEST TO BE SILENT AND PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME! If you think you can resist Him, well maybe it’s because you have made yourself greater than Him. Just think that all those who have thought this way became God’s enemies and ended in a tragedy. I repeat: IT IS BEST TO BE SILENT AND PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME! Amen.
