The Maker of All

It is good to know that where God dwells and on this Earth, where He is worshipped and served, everything has been made or created by Him. There is a great consolation in us knowing that He whom we love and serve is the Maker of everything. To decline in faith, to decline in fortitude should not be in us. We cannot be complaining all the time for so many things, well we have to think that the Maker of all is our Lord, our Father. How many things we worry about which are not worthy. We cannot give any time to those thoughts that disturb us with our concerns. God is the maker of all things and He is in control. Jehovah is the God of nature and all the powers of nature are at His service. If we look back and consider what surrounds us we will find that the whole world owes its origin and conservation to God. Among the pagan Greeks it was common to say: “Whoever wants to erect himself as a god should first create another world”. “The earth with the immense treasures of its entrails and the copious fruits of its exterior face have been made with the power of God and only an infinite power can make it sustain itself hanging from nothing.” We try to explain what sustains the earth, the other planets, the stars and everything else and we can’t. It was His wisdom that placed everything that surrounds us in order. He created the skies, the clouds, the trees, the land and the rain: He gave the rain for sowing and water for the land. He created man alone; he didn’t see it well that he would be alone and then created for him proper help: a woman. Then, the earth multiplied itself with many people, animals and fruits. With His understanding, God extended the skies as if it was the cover of a tent. God, then gave the law to men and the law did not work. Then, He gave Himself in sacrifice and we can see ourselves that it does work marvelously to give us new life and restore us. It works for all who take refuge in that grace. The Heavens declare its glory (Psalms 19:1 “The Heavens declare the glory of God”) and just the same obligate us to announce it and not to give the Heavens the glory that is due to the Creator of the Heavens. When looking up above we also see His providence as if it was a continuous creation. Jeremiah 10:13 “When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from the storehouses.” “To His voice”, it is to say with the thunder a multitude of waters is produced in the skies, so conveniently to water the land and make the clouds rise from the extreme of the earth, since it appears to arise from the horizon. He makes lightning for the rain (Psalms 135:7 “He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses”.) The lightning trespasses the clouds so they may empty its content over the earth; and brings out the wind from its deposits. (Psalms 147:8 “He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.”) All the earth pays the tribute of the vapors because the whole earth receives the blessings of the rain and in this way the humidity continues to circulate the universe for the well-being of everyone and everything, like the currency that circulates in a kingdom and the blood in a body. That’s how marvelous His creation is and with how much beauty it is described by the psalmist. Let us give glory to our Maker! This God is the God that has made a covenant with you. For such reason we have to adhere to Him each day and not abandon Him to follow the world. Psalms 16:5 “Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.” It is to be happy with the portion, happy with the Lord, our God. There isn’t the least desire to go in search of other gods. If we are satisfied in God as our portion He will have His contentment in us. God rejoices in His people who thank Him and worship, His nation who He recognizes as the tribe of His estate, there where God dwells and is worshiped and served. It is a great comfort for the people of God to know that whom they love and serve is the Creator of all! One thing we should acknowledge with clarity is that we cannot afford to be distanced from Him. Distance is rebellion and I assure you that a rebellious person could never go against the Maker of all! Let us be humble, the humble will inherit the earth. Be faithful to the Creator, the Maker of all and you will have piece and joy. To know that He controls all His creation is a relief for our souls. What will we fear if He takes care of us and everything created? He placed us here in this world with a unique purpose for each one of us. Let us not fear, let us live according to God’s plan and consider that His great wisdom and His immense power are only His. Only He can sustain the creation and care for it. Only He can care and protect His people that worship and serve Him. Amen.
