Alive for God in Jesus Christ

TOPIC: "Alive for God in Jesus Christ" Romans 6:11-14

Let us be clear of how careful we should be always while struggling against sin so that we will be obedient to the Lord. Only those who no longer want to sin can be obedient. You can be listening, even congregating, but if you want to sin no one will be able to convince you. In Christ we are delivered from the kingdom of sin and presented alive for God. (Romans 6: 11). Then, I cannot understand that something of the flesh would prevail in the new body of Christ that is within us. Sin cannot prevail within us if Christ is in us. I cannot understand either that it is a burden for some to separate from the flesh. Because we cannot forget that we move along the path of life given by God that we move along the path of eternal life. More than anything else here on earth there is a desire for salvation in my inner self. I know of things I have to do for God. There is an eternity that I can’t lose sight of; that is why I can’t walk in the desires of the flesh. The scripture says in Romans 6:12, "Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body." Could I be the only one preaching this message? I believe that those who long the eternity also speak such words. When there is lust in someone that means that sin has not been totally uprooted from the mortal body. In this life a Christian’s concern should be to resist the indications of sin. We must struggle fervently so that by means of the divine grace sin will not prevail in this mortal body. If you leave the sin in your body you will have to obey the lust (which are the impure and wicked desires). We cannot arrive before God with our head lifted when we are dominated by our own lust, then we will fear facing God. Don’t allow the lust to dominate you, it does so much harm to you, it can destroy and separate you from the one who has loved you. If you are truly a Christian, your thoughts should be that this sinful condition (where sin prevails and the lust is obeyed) will soon come to an end. Declare it to your body day after day until your spirit is aware and is completely convinced of that truth and therefore will have to die to the flesh. Yes, one has to die to that lust that often confuses men. How much distress there is in those who do not overcome their flesh! They can’t live tranquil and in peace. How many insane steps! How many bad decisions! How many ruins! And the worse, the loss of eternity! Do not present your body to sin. Let us present our extremities as weapons or instruments of justice to our God (Romans 6: 13). Brothers, we must all know that we are ready to fight for our lives for salvation. We are at the service of the Lord in this work of justice. Who is it that we serve? Is it God? Sometimes I ask myself who is loved more, is it God or the devil? We must understand that there is power for us only in the pact of the grace. And we conquer the devil in the name of the Lord. Then how can some say that they can be defeated by the devil? Sin will not dominate us if we go to war, if we fight in the powerful name of Christ. What makes you fall is whatever door you open. God's promises are for us. Sin may anguish you, but it cannot dominate you. Anyone who wants to go to Heaven cannot be dominated by sin. Those who take advantage of the grace but

like to sin are far from acknowledging the grace. Those abominable thoughts, contrary to God’s perfection and His plans for the gospel, are far from God. Careful! Someone told me once that it was not possible to belong to Mega Zoe because this person could not handle the fervor for the holy. The person said that he/she had a call for other things. Impossible! The gospel is the same for everyone. What motive can be stronger against sin than the love of Christ! Will we sin against so much kindness and against a similar grace? How can I surrender my body to sin when there is so much love from Christ for my life? This grace has filled my life with so many wonderful things: salvation, eternal life, a clean life separated to exercise the gifts and the kindness from God. God has revealed to me the truth, clarified my life, has given me peace, joy, and the opportunity to live beside Him. Then, I cannot deny Him by sinning and obeying the desires of my flesh. I live and will always live to love Him, considering myself dead to sin and alive for God in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
