TOPIC: "May Your Clothing Be White At All Times And Not Lack Anointment" Ecclesiastes 9:8 The oil was used to anoint on occasions of jubilation, for the Israelites the oil was a symbol of joy. God gives the author of the book of Ecclesiastes continuous motives to be happy. There are many good things that God does for us, so we should be joyful and grateful with our heads anointed with oil. The oil was also used to separate a person for God’s service; it was used for the food, it was used in some of the labors, for illnesses and to combat against dryness of the skin. These verses speak of the use of the oil as an ointment, as a perfume, as a motive for happiness. It is the contrary to the use of ashes which symbolized mourning and sadness. We should live rejoiced in God. As declared in Matthew 17: 1-3, our Jesus experienced a marvelous transfiguration, it was something spectacular. The case is that Jesus was going to have a great conversation with Moses and Elijah. But before, His clothing turned very white. The shine in Moses face was weak compared to Jesus. Before the shining face Moses could hide behind a thin veil (Exodus 34:35), but now the glory of the body of Christ was so immense that His garments shined like the light. The Lord spoke with Moses and Elijah (Luke 9:31) of His redeeming sacrifice to be fulfilled in Jerusalem. In this way He united at the sight of the three disciples that accompanied Him the manifestation of His Glory at the eve of the suffering of His death. Moses and Elijah were glorified, so, they were both the witnesses of Heaven. Those who were privileged, Peter, John and Jacob, were the earthly witnesses. Notice that, for something as greatly as described here, the clothing of Jesus had to be very, very white. So, if you want to see in your life what comes from God, your clothing should also be white. White symbolizes purity, cleanliness and holiness. Revelation 3:4, 5 shows us that we will walk with Jesus in white clothing, that our garments cannot be stained. Those who succeed will be dressed by God with white garments. When we converted and were born again we were cleansed by the blood of the Lamb. Later, as time passes by, we are to preserve the white garments from idolatry and immorality by obeying the Word of God and qualified by the grace of the Lord and the power of the Spirit. We will be wrapped and covered with white garments by Jesus Himself. Our garments will be a splendid white color, signifying our participation in the glory of Christ. We will be resuscitated like a magnificent prize that God rewards for an immaculate conduct. White is a symbol of victory, peace, purity and festive joy! How glorious are His ways! Revelation 3:18 We are advised to purchase white garments to dress. This is a tender advice given to you, to purchase from Him. Jesus Christ is the only producer and provider of life and faith. He is the provider of everything a believer needs for his spiritual wealth. That is why we need to seek what we need approaching Him. It is not that we have to buy with money but rather we have to approach Him and acquire everything for free. Jesus offers us white clothing to cover ourselves so that we won’t show our embarrassing nakedness.

Revelation 7:9 John saw all those human beings saved. There we will be, all the gentiles that have been victorious. John saw them, they were all standing; it will be something very special. There we will be resuscitated and in Heaven. To be standing before the throne and the Lamb indicates an intimate communion with God uncovered, constant and ineffable (with no words to describe it). To be dressed with white robes indicates a full holiness and a whiteness that doesn’t owe to the merits but to the forgiving mercy of God who has cleaned us in the blood of the Lamb. The palms in the hands are symbols of joyful festiveness, of the victory that God has won for them and for them (also for us). It's a beautiful festivity. We have been given to be clothed in fine linen. It’s the greatness that awaits us. The wedding feast of the Lamb, this is the nuptial commitment of Christ with his bride, the Church. These weddings will be in heaven when the Church is lifted to meet with Christ, her bridegroom, in the air. The Church will be perfectly dressed and this way we will be together forever. The nuptial contract was signed when Christ redeemed his church (Ephesians 5:25-27). When Christ lifts his church in the rapture, then shall come the wedding banquet. All the difficulties here on earth will be gone, and then the hour will come for the great nuptial feast. To be dressed in white is because we have had peace, an immaculate conduct, victory and purity. Brother, it is our duty now to do righteous acts that are expected of us. Let us live doing what is right, in this way we will be with the Lamb at the wedding. It is wonderful that God has prepared all this, let us do our part and respond to God's love also preparing our lives for such a great encounter. May our garments be always white and we never lack the ointment over our heads. Amen.
