TOPIC: “With Obedience, Prayer, Clamor and Tears We Will Arrive” Hebrews 5:7-10

Obedience is to hear, to listen, to be submitted and do what others ask. Peter says in Acts 5:29, "It is necessary to obey God rather than men." Nowadays, in the Church it is just the opposite; men are obeyed more than God. The reason is to not make people angry so they won’t leave the church and keep them happy even if their home is falling apart. When one cannot obey one cannot conquer! Obedience is for those capable of receiving instructions. No one can achieve anything unless they live in obedience. The majority of the people do not like to obey and they do as they please for their own convenience because they work for themselves and not for anyone else. If they do something they do it for those who are closer to them, and not for more than 3 or 4 persons. When the Bible speaks of obedience to God it is for us to understand that God capacitates each one of us to do something to favor others and not ourselves or a few others. In God’s Kingdom no one is greater than the other, but rather God distributes to each person in order to do well to others. The world is a chain where each one is a link, if one link does not function, the chain breaks. How easy it is to break! But when it happens, someone falls thru that great precipice of pain and of torment. And the reason was that someone did not do their part because they did not like to obey. Thanks for those who obey God; in them we see that great chain of courageous people. Joshua 1:8 There were promises for Joshua. There were also conditions for those beautiful promises. Of course, that Joshua did not work only for himself. The orders were to not keep away from the Book of the Law, to meditate in the book night and day. It is not to have the work sometimes or when it is convenient, but rather it should always be in our mind and spoken with our mouth. The Word of God was known by the brave Joshua, because he sought the word day and night and carried it to his mind and to his heart. Then, in this way he could do according to what is written, everything went well and Joshua’s path would prosper. We should do the same with this sacred book, the Bible. We should always live with it in our mouths, meditate in it, get to know God’s book and obey what the book says, this way we will be prospered in our walk. My brother, all will go well for those who obey. Genesis 6:22 God removed the evil and the obstacles of the inhabitants of the earth with a flood. And Noah obeyed what God asked him to do. He took food for his sustenance, his family and the animals. We can see that those who obey are good workers, and not idle. Noah quickly sought food for all; that was the command. He did everything that God commanded, not what he thought. He always did according to what God had requested. He saved his family in his obedience, he saved the animals, and in a long-term he also saved you by means of that obedience, so he achieved with his obedience to save all humanity so they would not perish. But, someone really great and marvelous gave you redemption of all your wickedness by being obedient. Jesus obeyed the Father being the Son. How is obedience carried out? The way Jesus did, with imploration and supplication, with great clamor and tears. With the sufferings Jesus learned what it cost to be obedient. When He was perfectly capacitated for the mission that had been entrusted to Him, then He became the author of the eternal salvation for all who also obey. You see, Jesus learned the obedience. The Lord’s minister should have this clear: "God chose me and gave me this ministry: that is to say, my service to Him and to the men." Jesus did not choose His task; God chose it for Him. We do not choose, it is God that chooses for us to do. For such reason, you see so much deformity in those who call themselves to the ministry without God calling them. That is why we don’t see in them supplication, requests, clamor or great tears. What does abound in them is the presumption and the ego very inflated. That does not edify, it destroys. One must consider the thoughts that the author of the Book of Hebrews has concerning Jesus. In Gethsemane Jesus was in prayer and pleas. Those who do this are the ones who obey. Those who say they have been called by God but are not, rebel against mankind. And who did they come to serve? Is it not the men who are served by those who are truly sent by God? And with many tears! The word "clamor" indicates a shout that does not want to be hurled, that escapes from the throat when in stress because of an unbearable pain. So there is not agony of the spirit that Jesus has not been through. If also you suffer and have in your body the afflictions of Christ it is because you are obedient like Him, who with love and dedication gave us the maximum example.

The rabbis had a saying: "There are three kinds of prayer, each one more elevated than the previous one: prayer, clamor and tears." Prayer is done in silence, the clamor elevating the voice, but the tears conquer it all. Jesus came to know even the desperate prayer of the tears. Jesus learned from what He lived in obedience, because He carried in His body with great reverence what He suffered. He obtained thanks to His obedience. And some complain immediately of what little or more they go through. Are you capable of yielding your loin without being arrogant and learn obedience? Jesus learned from what He suffered. When we are capable of accepting with reverent fear what’s coming, we learn obedience, we grow and we obtain. But, if we do it with resentment and complaints, the cries of our heart will make us deaf to the voice of God and we will not hear Him. All the painful experiences that Jesus lived qualified Him to be the Savior that humanity needed. It is necessary for you to comply in obedience whatever you were created for in obedience through loud cries, prayer and tears. Consider that in obedience Jesus executed for our lives salvation. It is something that gives us salvation in the time and in eternity. Nothing can seize us from the hands of the Lord and we obtained that from His obedience. Glory to Him! Then, let us obey in everything! Amen.
