It was by faith that Moses was hidden to be given to God as an offering for the rest of his life; his Israelite parents were not intimidated by the edict of pharaoh. If you do not want to live in fear, in distrust and insecurities, well, there is something called faith in which you should live believing God. We chose to walk with God and we know that there is nothing we can do when so many problems arrive, but the one who chose us can indeed do anything. Sometimes there is great confusion in us and this frightens us. In this road of God the key is faith and if you do not have it you will not be able to do absolutely anything. It is not a human effort, or what I want to do, it is that I should believe. We must understand that we will remain paralyzed if we do not have faith. Those who continue to walk are those who have decided that each step of their life will be based on faith in their God. Moses is the supreme figure of the history of the Israelites. He received the law from the hands of God Himself. He delivered the Israelites from slavery. Once he had tried and he did not succeed. But, his parents knew that he was a son of destiny, who would come to comply with what God had requested, a very special job. The faith of his parents led them to challenge the king’s decree, and that is why they hid the child. The hatred of the pharaoh against the Israelites made him want to kill all the baby boys. Moses was delivered; he is the son of faith to be born and to carry out his life with God until his last minute. You must have faith so you won’t be destroyed. Moses renounced to be son of the daughter of pharaoh in Egypt where his brothers worked as unhappy slaves. He wanted to do justice for his Israelite brothers. Moses was raised with all kinds of luxury being one of the greatest Egyptian generals. One day he decided to join the Israelites who were oppressed and said good-bye to a future of wealth and kingship that Egypt offered him. Moses was born as a member of a nation literally chosen by God. When there is faith we know what we choose. Moses chose the best, the nobility of Heaven. He did not want to descend and keep the royalty of Egypt. He made a decision; he was not going to hide his true nationality just to obtain a few and brief years of worldly fame. Moses could have been today in a museum as an Egyptian mummy, but for choosing faith yesterday and today he is known by all as a man of God. To be a man of faith we must renounce to the pleasures of the world like Moses renounced to the pleasures of Egypt. We cannot live two ways at the same time. Moses associated himself with the suffering of his people. With his strength he could not help them, but with faith he was able to deliver them. He could have had all his liberty being an Egyptian, but he preferred to be mistreated. His faith made him walk away from the temporary delights of sin. One cannot have faith and live a sinful life. By the faith he acquired he could see that the fabulous treasury of Egypt lacked all the value in the light of eternity. He chose to suffer vituperation. He valued more loyalty toward God and the love toward his people than all the pharaoh’s wealth put together. That is faith. He chose as

Jesus did who left his glory for the love of humanity. Moses shared the sufferings of Christ. He knew very well what was really important for him after the moment of his death. The day arrived for Moses and the people of Israel to leave Egypt. Moses renounced to the world to live by faith in all his walk; in the desert and in solitude, in dangers, insecurity, with no greatness or fame, suffering hardship, eating the provision of bread each day saying no to abundances; this is depending on God by the faith acquired. He took refuge in a place called Midian. Moses declared himself in favor of the people of God. The wrath of the king did not stop him, because he saw Him who is invisible, that’s faith. It was no longer politics for Moses, now it was faith. Moses was a man of great courage and bravery in his faith. He feared the pharaoh so little because he feared God greatly. Moses left the religion of the Egyptians. He rejected all human knowledge for his faith. He celebrated the Passover with all the preparations of death while all the Egyptians died because of the harshness of the pharaoh. It was to eat the bread without yeast, the Passover lamb, to paint the lintel of the doors with blood so that the Angel of Death would see it. He made all these preparations with faith. That man of faith moved a multitude of unhappy Hebrew slaves to undertake a trip thru an unknown desert to an unknown land that had been promised to them. The Egyptian army was very close to them; however, Moses never doubted that God would guide them all the way to the end safe and sound. Why think that God called us to leave us trapped? The moment of the great crossing of the sea arrived and in that faith that moved Moses all the people of Israel would cross it. They crossed the sea miraculously because there was faith. The Egyptians drowned when they tried to do the same thing. The reason to drown is the lack of faith. Faith is what makes the impossible move at God’s order. What God asks of us seems impossible, but your faith makes it possible. Moses had an intimate relationship with God. Exodus 33:9 The secret of Moses’ faith was that he personally knew God. After leaving God’s presence he would face any task. When we come out of the presence of God there is nothing that can defeat us. Failure and fear often occur when we try to do things on our own. Live face to face with God before being face to face with mankind. This way you will conquer by faith as Moses did, who persevered because he saw Him who is invisible. Amen.
