Our Faith Must Not Be Weakened

We see in Verse 17 that it was God who Abraham believed. He believed in a God who gives life to the dead and calls the things that are not as if they are. Abraham had a great disposition towards the Word of God. God speaks and we must immediately receive what He is saying as a fact that will be fulfilled. Difficult things, things that we cannot humanly have or obtain are the things that God from His good will wants us to have. As well as Abraham who knew what God had for him, you should also know what God wants to do in your life. Upon passing the years the faith of some becomes weakened and this brings incredulity, and the lack of faith is manifested. By lack of faith men become incredulous. If we consider the human efforts it is proper to be pessimists, because is very little what we can achieve with our own efforts. We get tired of fighting, we feel hurt upon not achieving what we want and then we give up. But, if we believe in His Word all can be done. When we receive and we hold on to His Word we do not become weakened in our faith. Abraham did not weaken in his faith; he did not collapse when he turned 100 years old. Nowadays, at the age of 40 we begin to have discomforts, complaints and pains. If we begin to confess in a negative way and become paralyzed, then we will have a disabled church and we do not walk in faith. When God spoke to Abraham about his future descent he was 75 years old of age. Genesis 12:2-4 But, the Lord’s promise was going to be fulfilled when he turned 100 years old. He had a reason to become weakened, but this did not happen. At the age of 100 his promise could be renewed because he had not weakened in his faith in God. The possibility to create a new life had been dispelled, but the God that gives life to the dead and calls the things that are not as if they are made a promise. There was no hope, but there was faith in Abraham. Perhaps you do not have hope, but your faith must not weaken in the God that has always worked powerfully in you at all times. The eyes of Abraham made him see that the promise was impossible to be fulfilled, but that did not make him hesitate, he did not doubt. There was no incredulity in him. Incredulity makes us doubt. Abraham was fortified in faith. How do you strengthen yourself? With incredulity or faith in God? When you have faith you give the glory to God, you exalt Him, worship Him, you bless Him. When there is incredulity you underestimate Him, you speak badly of Him, you have doubts. For Abraham there was only one impossibility, and that was that God would lie. Blessed be God! Glory and honor to You, oh Lord! I don’t know about you, but I know that in order for the promises to be fulfilled we must give glory and honor to the only God we can depend on. The one who will fulfill His promise challenging all the probabilities. It is not what you see; it is what it is. The devil wants to weaken you, but finally everything is in what your eyes will see or in how much you believe God. When we are weakened we complain, we get tired, murmur, the spirit is lost. What you see are your probabilities and that is where the failure comes, but God calls the things that are not as if they are. God is pleased to find men and women who believe Him. God added justice to Abraham’s account. What will God add to your account, justice or weakness? Where there had existed a life with a balance of sin and fault, now he had a position of justice before God. Abraham had been delivered from condemnation; he was justified by a Holy God through faith. We underestimate His power and we perish remaining with nothing. God will always have in abundance. We are the ones who decide if we remain weakened waiting for years or if we are justified by our faith in Him. You believe and He will do. Your weakness becomes incredulity and incredulity does no good to the Lord’s people. It’s the power of God that moves when your faith moves it. May it be the faith in your life that will reign always. Abraham is our example to follow. God is pleased with all those who believe Him. Let us do like Abraham and we will see the hand of God on our behalf and on behalf of his people. Amen.
