Everything I Want Will Be Done

BIBLE STUDY #636–CHURCH IN THE HOUSES WEEK OF MAY 18- MAY 24 ,2010

Topic: “Everything I Want Will Be Done” Acts 13:22 God seeks men who are meek and humble. Men’s insistence in being stubborn brings as consequence that one has to struggle with their rebelliousness. This is why things are delayed or are never done. Then one lives fighting, crying, complaining and blaming someone for not having accomplished what God wanted. God chose David, the reason for this was “… a man after my own heart, he will do everything I want him to do” King Saul reigned for 40 years and never fulfilled what God wanted. Of course, he enjoyed God’s platform that did not belong to him, but God granted him the opportunity so that he could do what God wanted. But, God’s heart was not in Saul in order for him to proceed. Genesis 4:4 Since the beginning of the scriptures we can see the good that is manifested in those who do what God wants. That good comes from God’s heart, not from men’s heart, because this human heart is evil. God looked at Abel with graciousness because he did according to what God wanted, but he was not pleased with Cain because he brought as an offering the fruit of the land which was not what God was asking for. There was evilness in Cain, on the other hand Abel was going to do everything God wanted. This is the important thing, to be meek. Look at yourself- how much you protest! And for such reason, you do not like to do things as God wishes; that is what happened with Saul. In Genesis 6:8 we see how Noah found grace before the Lord’s eyes. God had regretted creating mankind, but Noah was not like the rest. Noah was meek and as obedient to God he did what seemed to be the acts of a crazy person. There was no rain and even so he did what was asked. Therefore, he was a “man after my own heart, he will do everything I want him to do.” And what was the result? He found grace before the eyes of Jehovah; he pleased God with such disposition. Genesis 39:21 We can see Joseph who was also a meek man and for that reason he can be designated as a “man after my own heart, he will do everything I want him to do.” He was placed in jail, but this did not take him out of proportion because he was meek. It was unfair for him to go to prison, but he had a heart for God, a willing heart. God used him in prison. Therefore, it is not the liberty or prison that matters, but to have a heart like the heart of God. A divine approval was found in Moses as a guide for the nation of Israel. Exodus 2:25 He found grace from God. Moses would also do as David, everything that God had asked. Nevertheless, there was something that God wanted him to do and he didn’t; for that reason he was not able to enter the promise land. He struck the rock and he shouldn’t have. There is a duty, a responsibility; either we do or we perish in disobedience. We say with our acts what is in our hearts, if there is rebellion or humbleness. The town provoked anger in Moses, but that was not the matter. The matter was that Moses was a man in accordance with God’s heart who would do everything that God wanted. That is your problem, to do what God wants and not what you want. 1 Samuel 2:26 Samuel, the young man, was accepted by God. That is the great privilege of being received by God. If God receives you, so will the men in this world. Samuel continued to grow spiritually. That is how we please God, when you grow spiritually, and then you can do what God wants you to do for Him. In this way God accepts us and we will be capable of doing everything God wants us to do. Luke 1:30 Mary was also called by God to do His will. She behaved just like David, in her case, a woman “…after my own heart, who will do everything I want her to do.” Mary was going to care for Jesus as a child, she was going to protect and love Him. It wasn’t Mary who started this, but it was what God wanted to do. She found God’s approval, acceptance. For such reason, Mary would do everything that God wanted to do here on earth for Jesus. She was blessed because she was meek and humble. Mary got confused when she heard the angels words, she was so simple that she understood that those words were too great for her. Acts 7:46 David was so willing to do what God had ordered him that he even wanted to edify a temple for God. It wasn’t David who God would ask, but Salomon, his son. It’s not one mile, it is the next although God does not ask for it. David’s disposition was such that even if God did not ask him to build the temple, David was willing to do it. He kept great treasures for the temple. Even though it wasn’t his duty, this was not a problem. He knew that if God wanted to raise a temple, even if it wasn’t thru him, he was willing to do anything for his God. He knew that for God he was a “man after his own heart, who will do everything I want him to do.” Let us be meek as David. Amen.
