Zephaniah 3: 1-2

There is a Word from God for our lives that we, as faithful servants, should fulfill. If the Holy Spirit is not manifested in some people, it is because He does not find a good disposition in them. Let’s always have the best disposition to seek God and fulfill His Word. We should always be concerned about pleasing God, of walking according to what He wants. Let’s make sure that there is never rebelliousness in us, because sooner or later all rebelliousness comes to light at a given moment. Not everyone is willing to be guided, but we should be sure and determined to be guided by the Lord because we do not know when God will ask for our soul. It is worse when we do not accept God’s guidance, because tomorrow will result in a life that will be destroyed. After all, mankind is the one who destroys his own life if he chooses not to be guided by God. We are all exposed to many things on this earth, but only we decide what we do with our lives, either we destroy it or lift it for God. The worse thing that can happen to someone is to not accept the reprehension. The solution lies in the disposition we have to accept the word of exhortation in the calling. It is the voice of God that brings the solution to our lives, but many times the walls of arguments build up that do not let the Word enter and have the effect it should have on us. For us, the Word is useful for everything; that is why we should leave the doors open, so that the Word may enter and do its work. This way we will repose, rest. Let there always be space for it in our heart! There is a great problem in mankind, and it is rebelliousness. Because of it, men are misled. Rebellious- ness is an intensive form of resistance, there is no brake. The day we lose the brake, we lose everything. A righteous man knows when to stop; he measures to know when to stop, not to play silly. When a person becomes rebellious and gives in to that intensive form of resistance, everything he does becomes a pleasure. The worse that could happen is when the knowledge of the Word is no longer there. Not to consider the Word that has been written and spoken for centuries is to lose everything, but, how much resistance there is against the Word! The rebel becomes disobedient. The son that does not obey has already rebelled, and that is what he has in his home, rebellion. The church is the place where we struggle the most to preserve good and to stop and eliminate evil. God always speaks clearly to our lives. A stubborn person is a person who cannot receive the Word of God and is lost. But, the meek are the ones who inherit the land. Stubbornness exists in those who are rebellious and the Word of God cannot enter anymore and much less the good advice. If we could only understand the love the Father has for us, we would never turn our back on Him. The Lord has been with us day and night, and if we could take that into consideration there would be no place for stubbornness. Those who become stubborn walk away from God. They take pleasure in their stubbornness; it pleases them to satisfy it. We cannot consent someone like that. The problem with rebellion and stubbornness is that an outburst occurs, and we raise our fist, not against men, but against the God who created the heavens and the earth. Psalms 32:9 Let’s not be like the horse that has no understanding. A man and a woman who know and fear God have to have an understanding. The sad thing is that sometimes terrible things have to happen, because it is the only way that there can be a humiliation. The rebel does not have the advice, does not want to be corrected and cannot come near to God. The humble understand that they need God because even to breathe we owe ourselves to Him. When rebelliousness begins, the communion starts to diminish progressively. Exodus 32:9 How little do we like to lower the loin! Mankind is stiff-necked; he is not capable of yielding himself. When hardheartedness exists, few good things happen. 1 Samuel 9:19 What produces faith in us is to listen to God’s voice, the Word. We move throughout the Word because it produces faith in us. When there is no faith in God there is disturbance; and that is why we seek human plans. But when there is faith we do not make plans, but rather we walk believing what we cannot see. God always wanted to be the King of the people of Israel. He is our Shepherd, the One who guides our lives; but many do not want God, but a king of flesh and blood who, after all, destroys the lives of men like him. Sometimes, as mortals, we are the ones who resist God. Zechariah 7:11 Some people cover their ears so that they cannot hear. They walk and some things turn out well, but one day, they will need God. They present a spectacle to deceive others. But, God knows who is near and who is far. What some people need, just like the horses, is a halter, the muzzle that guides them by force, not consolation or compassion. Consolation lies where there is humbleness. Nothing can come to our lives if not thru the Holy Spirit. Woe to us, if we allow obstinacy and stubbornness to touch us! We have to unlearn and eliminate from our lives the world’s style and live according to the Word. Let us obey the Word; this is the best thing and it will go well for us. AMEN.
