TOPIC: “I Am Like A Fig Tree Sown In The Best Vineyard, I Will Give The Fruit Expected By The Lord” Luke 13:6 -9 The uselessness in a person is an invitation to disaster. We, the believers in Jesus Christ, are like a fig tree sown in a vineyard, which gives or not gives good fruits. As believers we either give good fruits or we don’t. How useful we can be for someone who is in condemnation! Nevertheless, many believers live constantly complaining of everything, they are not capable of having faith in God and leaving their burdens to the Lord and trusting Him to give the fruit they should give. Many are without fruits; without God and without faith there cannot be miracles or deeds that are proper of believers. But the question that every believer should ask is, how willing are we to be those useful persons for God and His kingdom? The word of warning to cut the fig tree that does not give fruit is a warning for all Christians, so, we cannot live a lifetime in laments, but trust the one who has called us to give and to do what is expected. The fig tree was sown in a place of privilege. Matthew 21:19 The fig tree that is mentioned in this verse was planted on good soil. We are sown where the owner of the vineyard has planted us, in a fertile place. We have been planted in a place where we receive the best treatment and the best care. Then, we should know where our place is. Therefore, we cannot live in lament. We have been sown in the vineyard of the Lord, in the best and not the worse, in the vineyard of the best Owner. For such reason, we receive the best care as we have been planted in the best land so that we can be useful. In those times the good soil was scarce and there weren’t enough good grounds to sow. Jesus is going to judge us; we will have to answer to God for every opportunity He has given us without deserving it. God took gifts and distributed many. Ephesians 4: 8 And in so many occasions we use irresponsibly what God has given us; that is why we do not achieve a number of things. With His power God has given us believers talents and gifts to liberate the lives in need. He has given them to us to use, to work with what He has distributed, but for that it is necessary to love and to be compassionate. We have to be the reflection of God on earth. We live an abundant life for ourselves; let us share it with others. It is our duty to do well. Our devotion and passion should be seen. God distributes according to the need of others and we cannot act irresponsibly because one day we will have to give account. There are anxieties inside us, but time passes and we do not do anything. Therefore, God’s purpose is not fulfilled in some. The matter is not to have self-esteem, but rather obedience. We should know what our duty is. There has never been a generation more trusted than ours; therefore, more will be demanded from us. The more God gives us the more He will expect.

Being useless is an invitation to disaster. What will we invite for Aguadilla, disaster or blessings? Why have we come to this world? We can produce useful things for God and for our lives and thus go from fortress to fortress and not in defeat. The useless will be eliminated when the owner of the vineyard comes to see the fruit expected. How many excuses and reasons are given to not do what one must do! God comes to inspect our lives completely. God demands and expects the time when He will come to seek our fruit. Upon not giving fruit the soil become useless and thus is given a bad example, and instead of doing well we do a great deal of damage. When we are sown in a place of privilege, we do harm with our bad example of uselessness and passiveness. Many believers nowadays live only to receive and to produce economies, not to work for a town. Can our deeds follow us after death? We have no reason to have so many laments but rather we should give and work for the Lord of the vineyard. It is better to have more obligations than leaving things undone, because we do not know how much time we have. It is our obligation and our passion to serve and to give of what we have to others, but how willing are we to contribute. Sometimes we are willing to criticize. Our existence is to struggle, to do the work of God. Compared with trees, what fruit are we giving- abundant, scarce, little, a great deal or nothing? There is judgment for the fig tree that does not give fruit and when it is trimmed it is not to please the Lord, because years of trial have passed without the expected fruit. There has been an excess of confidence thinking that the years will go by and everything will continue to be OK. What motive is there to continue to disable the soil? Let us be people with a clamor. We are in a vineyard sown like a fig tree in a place of privilege. Let us pray so that God doesn’t eliminate our opportunities. People have to awake to repentance. It is necessary to awaken many from that doze, for the hardness of the land to be broken and the heart of its hard ground to be softened, knowing how many promises God has given us. If there is no fruit it is because no advantage is taken of the opportunities, it is because the challenges that God has given us have been taken in vain. We should understand that the time will come when it will not be God who will close the doors but those who do not react and it will be easier for them to run and find someone to blame. God’s patience delays the punishment, but it will not be removed unless there is repentance. May God deliver us from this! Let us be believers willing to give and to do by means of the gifts and talents that the Lord of the vineyard has given us, we have been planted in a place of privilege, we have been chosen, let us be faithful to our call and give the proper fruit of a good fig tree planted by the God Himself.
