TOPIC: “I will choose the best, to be at the Master’s feet” Luke 10:38-42 The only rest for the soul is when we sit down at Jesus' feet to listen to his sweet voice. We will not be able to sit in Heaven if we haven’t sat first beside Jesus, to listen to him here in this life. Sometimes it becomes so hard to do so because we live too attached to this world. Many are not willing to be at Jesus' feet. As long as we are at his feet, we will be able to reach the Father. Nowadays, for many people nothing is wrong. It should become a habit for us to listen to the word, because in the Scriptures we will find the knowledge of how we should conduct ourselves. If we think that we can live and be the best in this world, we should do so. One day we will cease to exist and there will be nothing else. How much time have we spent at his feet! We will be the ones to decide. Sometimes we work, something is done, and everything is calculated to our own interest, because this is proper of men. Nothing is for Heaven. If there is one thing men live for, that is to obtain their own reward. No one wakes up thinking about someone else. One thing we need to decide as Christians is to sit at the feet of the Master. When we are at his feet we learn to listen to Him. Our reward is in Heaven. If our convictions are not solid anyone can come and change them. Either we live for this world or we live for the things that last. John 6:27 We work for the food that perishes. Let us be capable of working for the food that is eternal, the one that will remain forever. To serve others we need to stop serving ourselves. The greatest satisfaction that people have is to satisfy their own physical appetite and this should not be more important. We must decide to search the things that come from above. What Jesus wants is for us to listen to him. One lives as if the body was everything in life. There is a lot of pride in this world. Men tend to be materialist, attached to this world and to their possessions. What we need to learn is to work without fatigue to acquire the knowledge of God. Men collide with the truth of God because of their lack of knowledge. 1 Corinthian 3:14 We say that we edify for God’s Kingdom, but we do it for ourselves. We have to edify for the Kingdom of Heaven. Human beings like to be seen and admired. We must define well the work that we do; our reward will depend on it. It is our position that distinguishes us. If our work remains before the trial of Christ’s tribunal, then we will have a reward. Many times we do things so that others can see us. The problem is that we are expecting from this world. Let us wait what comes from above. 2 Corinthians 4:16 We tend to live for what is temporary, not for what is eternal. Sometimes we consider the things that we can see to be important. Women and men that are spiritual do not walk according to what they see. What Jesus wants is for us to be at his feet. We live attached to what we see day after day. We should understand, as Gods’ children that our great objective is to reach what hasn’t been seen yet. We are going to obtain and reach to be in celestial places together with Christ. One day we will see his glory. We also want our fellow beings to also see his blessings, then this way we will have rewards in Heaven. The faithful servant of Christ seeks what cannot be seen.

John 11:20 Jesus loved and he was giving the best of Himself. What is making us so eager? Only one thing is necessary, and it is for us to sit down at Jesus' feet, because in Him we have everything. The less of us there is in us, the more we will have of Jesus; we will be more humble and better and we will work for the things that do not perish. Mary paid attention to Jesus. We have to die to what is in us in order for Christ to grow in us. Mary had more to gain than Martha. What was inside of Martha did not allow her to be at Jesus' feet. There was an exquisite essence in Mary. Martha was reprehended because she became too eager in the service to her Lord, she was distracted. The closer we are to Jesus' feet, the more we will obtain. Then, the more we will see and reach; because this is the way we struggle for what is eternal. Many times the things that we put first disappear. And many times the service that we give Jesus is the same service given by Martha. Sometimes we want to do so much things that vanish. The Word of God will judge us; it opens our eyes to make us wake up. Pride makes us do many things. Our reward will tell us if our work was done for love or for vainglory. Martha's service remained blemished with pride. Jesus wants us to sit at his feet and learn to do His will. It is best to listen to Jesus. We decide what portion we choose. The spiritual portion will not be taken from us. Living for Jesus is the same as listening to the Father's will, but it should be done at His feet. The way we live and conduct ourselves marks our lives. What we do, how we act and live, will come back t us, whether it’s good or bad. Let us love to be at the Master’s feet and we will see the blessings in our lives. Amen.
