Everything shall pass; and those who triumph will inherit all things and I will be their God and they will be my children

TOPIC: “Everything shall pass; and those who triumph will inherit all things and I will be their God and they will be my children” Revelation 21:1-8 In these days some have approached me and said “pastor, please forgive me, I want to work, I want to fulfill the compromise I have made with God.” This is the best thing that can happen to us. To understand what the phrase “everything shall pass” in Christ means, for here is where the blessings will begin.

I. Revelation 21:1-8 Those who have conquered will not see the second death, that is, if the Lord hasn’t come before we go through the first death. But if the Lord comes tonight, and we are saved, we will be elevated. Many think that Heaven is hard to reach, but I (the pastor) believe it can be reached. I heard a program (which by the way I was not watching to follow it but to be able to clarify to the church where apostasy stands) where the host was speaking about several ministries who were negotiating in the church (as Jesus condemned in the Scriptures) misleading the people. These kinds of comments will lead believers who pursue them to disputes and discord. This becomes an entertainment for the church and doesn’t allow for the blessings to be reached. The Holy Spirit leaves because His principle is love and peace. Disputes and passions come of our own joints, from our innermost and from the deepest of our being. We forget that we are struggling for a tomorrow and that our present is not what is most important in our lives. They will keep teaching apostasy on television and many will be deceived. They will go on asking for millions of dollars and will not be preaching about Jesus Christ. A high percentage of preachers today only preach about prosperity, they don’t discuss certain verses so that the people will not yearn for the rapture. They educate the church to move in a business spirit, when we know that everyone does not possess this ability. Their sermon is based on tales and they only mention God to support their tales which do not come from the Scriptures. But the promise of God of a new heaven and a new earth is still valid for those who conquer. We cannot use a verse from the Scriptures to create a doctrine; the whole Scripture confirms each verse. This is why we must read the Word of God every day. John was exiled in the Island of Patmos. There was much loneliness in him; he wasn’t living in the best conditions of prosperity, those were difficult times where they no longer had that great day of Pentecost. There were no more miracles for John. Everything shall pass; if he had become attached to material things, he would have left Jesus. The Word says: “men are as flowers, they are here today and tomorrow they cease to exist.” It is a pity that we become fond of our flesh, to our feelings and say that it is love. We will only receive discouragement when living for our jobs, our home, our cars, our children, for all we put our desire and determination, there is where tears and pain will come. When you and I discover this reality, that life is not eternal, or anything that surrounds it, then we will begin to love God’s will.

II. “The sea will no longer exist” Theologians say that the sea will no longer exist because it is a symbol of insecurity and storm, evilness, treason and rebellion. It will be excluded from the Celestial City, where there will be a crystal sea, a holy city, the New Jerusalem. After the Tribulation and the millennium the New City will descend from Heaven for those who have not become attached to this world. The Scriptures declare that the tabernacle dwelled in the midst of people in the days of Moses and surrounding the Tabernacle people lived on the four sides. That is how the New City will be; it will be a holy place where there will be no sin. There will be no tears, or death, or crying, no more pain, no reason to become desperate. Everything will be made new by God.

III. “Those who triumph will inherit all things and I will be their God and they will be my children.” Do you know the rights of a son? Those who have denied the church will not have the same privileges as those who have lived neglecting their flesh. This inheritance only belongs to those who struggled and maintain themselves firm. When John was writing this book, it seems that he stopped because God had to tell him: write. This was a time of persecution for Christians, but you and I are not living under this type of persecution, or government who lashes us. We are free to preach the Gospel. To be strong physically we need to have a healthy body, in the same way to have a well disposed spirit. We must grow in faith, in prayer and in our search for God. The church of God is no coward, there are tears, but of joy, of gratitude towards God. A coward can not be faithful and falls into incredulity. As you believe, it will be done unto you. Our strength grows when we believe. “If you come before Him it is to believe.” Amen.
