My body is the temple of God

TOPIC: “My body is the temple of God” 1 Corinthians 3:16-23 We must understand that our bodies are the temple where the Holy Spirit dwells. The Holy Spirit is not interested in leaving us; we are the ones who make it leave when we contaminate ourselves with this world, for this world only wants to keep us away from God. We must not get contaminated with the things of this world; our body is the temple where the most holy dwells. The Holy Spirit who dwells in us has communion with the Father, for this reason we must take good care of our body together with the most sacred of this world. Many false teachers arise and we must be careful not to get contaminated with their teachings or influences. Many stumble by loving theirselves and not loving Christ. We no longer belong to ourselves. The Holy Spirit is who starts to work in us to perfect us and one day will present our bodies before the Father. When we sin the Holy Spirit departs from us and then there is nothing to retort us, because the pleasures of our flesh dominate us by pulling us to this world. We must care for our bodies; it is not to be exhibited with lust, or any other sin, because it is temple of the Holy Spirit. We must understand that God separated us for Him; we were set apart by the God who one day we will meet face to face. As years go by, some Christians become more liberal instead of taking care of theirselves. God will never pass, He is always the same. Who does our body belong to? Or do we think that our body belongs to us. We should ask ourselves to whom does our body belong to and understand that the grace of Jesus bought us and the Holy Spirit is in us. Therefore our body does not belong to us but to the Holy Spirit who owns us. The Holy Spirit is in us to take us to a greater grace and to a perfection that will do well to us. The Holy Spirit is the greater in us, for this reason our flesh has to wear out. If not our body will be a betrayal that will take us to Hell, the place prepared for those who enjoy sin. Our body is the temple, and God chose it to dwell in us. When we move we are the temple of God, we can’t just take this for granted and we must walk carefully with our eyes and ears. We are not just one more person in the middle of this world but the temple of God. We are a building of God, temple and a chamber of God. Sometimes we don’t valorize ourselves. We don’t understand how great and powerful our body is. The Holy Spirit dwells in us and we can be very useful. God came to dwell completely in our lives. We are a building, the temple of God Almighty. We must be careful, sometimes we love more our flesh than our spirit, and this is the reason why we don’t have what we should have. Our failure is in our flesh and our victory is when we understand that we are the temple of God. The Holy Spirit is in us to care for us, guide us and reveal to us. We must not forget that God has been working in us; we must not live as we please, but in God’s will. If we destroy God’s temple by fornicating, stealing, in addictions, hatred, anger, etc. the body is destroyed. There is no deceit in the Scriptures. When the body is disgraced it’s because we have sinned or we let in what shouldn’t allow coming in. A body that is well taken care of cannot be destroyed by anyone. We must refine our senses, because not all who speaks

to us speak on behalf of God. We must be careful of who our companions or friends are. The flesh inclines to the false teachers. If we disgrace the temple, God will destroy it because he will always vindicate his name. We cannot prefer sin over holiness; we do not listen to those false teachers. To those who turn back to sin punishment will come from God. God will not permit anything where the Holy Spirit is not present in the Holy City. The Holy Spirit is the life in us and doesn’t want to leave, but it will if we take it for granted and sin against him. God has zeal for his temple and continually is watching over the church. When some one thinks he is sufficiently wise because of the years he’s been in church or because he is a leader, the best thing to do is to listen, observe his life and from there we will know if he is really wise or if he is taking advantage of his leadership. Our wisdom can not come from this world. The false wisdom of this world only teaches a doctrine that is not in accordance with the Scriptures. We must be careful who we listen to because many proclaim themselves teachers, but they can’t even manage their own family, then they can’t manage other families either. Be careful with those who claim to have wisdom and have nothing. Life has to take us through many different processes to find the real wisdom. We must go through many afflictions in order to acquire wisdom, not from these times but from Jehovah. We must not be afraid of afflictions. Those with the wisdom of this world only yearn positions and give away presents to get what they want. The wisdom of men is senseless, it’s no good. Men work to do wrong to others and work for their own benefit. The cleverness of this world is caught by God in its own nets. We must be fearful and not fall into this. Astuteness does not trap others but the person who uses it. God call men to live in holiness and not in deceit. He knows the thoughts of those who are false teachers. Their thoughts are vain, and empty. They always have plans and projects for the wellbeing of this world. We don’t need these false teachers because we are filled with the Holy Spirit. We must not glorify in men, for all has been given to us by God. For those who are truly servants of God, everything belongs to us. We are here to serve, so we must never be amazed by anyone except by God. Whatever we lack of, God will provide. God adds to the church whatever we need. Apollos was an eloquent man, he was sent to Corinth to teach the church. It was for their well-being and not to bring division. God adds to the church for our well-being, each one according to the purpose for which God has called them. Peter was an explosive man, but filled with love. Paul was a faithful man. God gave the church what they needed. We all belong to each other. We are Christian workers and we must understand that we belong to one another. All that God has given us belongs to us life, death, etc. Amen.
