TOPIC: “I will remain firm to my calling” Numbers 16:44-50 Hebrews 5:1-4 Hebrews 3:14 There are rebellious moments in which men have to run desperately to save their life. In the biblical case of Korah, who was a rebellious leader of the nation of Israel, he did not have an opportunity. But he who has God, and knows Him and loves Him and has communion with Him, knows that the best thing is to love God, for this reason they will remain firm and constantly in prayer, reading the Bible each day and fasting. But, regrettably this it what some forget to do. Jesus conquered and surely all who have a pure heart will also conquer. In Numbers 16:44-50 we read that immediately after Korah’s rebellion God consumed in a moment almost 15,000 persons who murmured. As Korah did, they had also rebelled against their spiritual leaders, who were Moses and Aaron. It was a matter of God giving the order and it was executed immediately. That’s how prompt the angels are who execute Jehovah’s orders in service of those who are righteous; the Father gives the order and they execute it. When God wants to validate His justice in favor of His chosen ones, He does. The people who fear God and serve Him always live examining their selves, because they do not want to fail God. Moses was a man who loved and feared God greatly. And who ever decides to know God becomes fearful of God. If we know Him as a great God we will always fear Him in this way. Moses knew how to prostrate and come before God. In our circumstances we must learn to prostrate ourselves before God, as Moses did, but some instead rise with arrogance as Korah did. God called Moses and Aaron as He has called us and the best thing to do is to prostrate ourselves before Him. We must be very careful in our relationship with the almighty. To intercede is a clamor, to cry out before God on behalf of the people so that judgment won’t come. Aaron stopped the angel of divine anger who executed judgment for those people. He interfered between the border of death and life. Could there be men and women willing to stop death, pacify the divine anger, it’s like saying for God to stop the mortality? Those who don’t have the guts to intercede and go before God are cowards, incredulous. For what have we come to the Lord’s house, to gain or to lose? Every minute we waste away from God’s will, will not return. This is why there are moments in our lives that we must take advantage of when making decisions and determinations as bravely as Moses and Aaron did. Moses was the legislator and leader of that nation. Aaron was the priest. They were there to plead for the people. Hebrews 5:1-4 There is a similar function given to us. But, first we have the highest priest, Jesus. In order for us to perform our profession in God, we need to know the highest priest, Jesus Christ. To be able to understand Moses’ heart we need to love with intensity and deny ourselves. The first thing for Moses was to lead those people to the Promised Land. God wanted to teach those people and every time he tried they would become rebellious. Beloved, each person decides how to live his life. Aaron had to live a life of spiritual struggle just as Moses did. Aaron was another mortal just like the rest with the same weaknesses, but if he was able to succeed, why couldn’t the others succeed? Neither Moses or Aaron was a super heroes, they weren’t perfect; they struggled with their flesh to do God’s will, whom they served and loved. We must retain the profession that has been given to us to perform; for God we are “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people.” 1 Peter 2:9 Hebrews 3:14 In spite of Aaron’s clumsiness in making the golden calf he showed he was just as human as everyone else. The priest

was dressed specially to represent God. His priest clothing were taking away from him and then he died because there was nothing else to live for. What can be greater in this life than to have a conviction and the determination for the vocation which God has given us? In this world we become attached to the daily and common things, that pass, but if we manage to understand the profession that God has placed in our hands, we will take it to perfection because we have a high priest who gave himself for us and knows what we go through. He crossed over the Heavens to glorify himself in our weakness. He took our weakness, which he knew. Jesus has salvation and perfection for us. He conquered death, and then we are able to succeed in doing our profession with perfection, without confusion. God is not seeking for our great qualities, but to put His greatness and His power in us, because His power is necessary in us in order to be priests filled with His anointing and cast out the demons. The devil wants to take away our profession and laugh at us all life long and make a joke of it. We must remember that we are the children of the one who gave his life and crossed over the heavens for us. To retain is to conserve what we have and what we have is not returned. God will give someone else what we do not retain. We cannot give our profession to anyone. No one must separate us from it. Aaron loved Moses very much. Nothing can take away what God has given us. Let us retain our profession because greater is Jesus who helps us. Our profession must take us to pray, to know the Word and to fast. If there is no communion with Heaven we are simply from Earth. The demons must know us. Things will go wrong if we lose communion with Heaven. Some have forgotten that they have a profession here on Earth. Let us not sell ourselves. Evil from others should not shake us, hurt us or move the profession God has given us. This Jesus who was tempted, without sin, had no weakness like us, he did not fall in temptation, but has compassion for us. God is powerful to deliver us from all the schemes the devil plans against us. We were all sinners, but Jesus wasn’t. Be careful! We must not seek glory. Jesus came to this world to suffer and for us to reach Heaven we must first carry the cross. Let us not seek fame but suffering. The devil has great things to offer us but we cannot violate the program that God has for our lives. When we no longer approach the throne of grace, we stop praying and searching. Let us approach the throne of grace to find timely assistance the day we need it, but for that we have to demonstrate we have defeated temptation. God constitutes men and women on behalf of the people. If He constituted us, then we must defeat temptation. This world wants to perish and drown and we should not push it. God constituted us on behalf of this world. We no longer live for ourselves but for the people. We have been constituted to do His will because God has wanted to organize, form, to work on behalf of the people and deliver them from sin. We are not the greatest, but we represent the greatest, the almighty God. Amen.
