TOPIC: “Disputes will reveal those approved by God” 2 Corinthians 11:19 2 Timothy 2:21-25 If we implore the name of the Lord we shall do well to others and among ourselves. If we want to be well disposed for good deeds we have to cast aside silly and foolish issues because they generate disputes that are harmful. The foolish are clumsy in there treatment with others, stubborn, imprudent and silly. On the other hand, to be prudent is to be a person with good sense and good judgment. To be prudent is not common nowadays, but a believer will seek to be so for God and for the fellowman. No one can move those with good sense and judgment, he knows where he’s headed; he is not a bundle of nerves and is not going crazy. He can tolerate group pressure because he is sensible. We should be prudent and not foolish. We all have to see that there are things in our lives that need to be discarded. As the Apostle Paul said, things that is silly and foolish. We want to discard them because we know they generate disputes and we are now pacifiers. Mathew 5:9 What does God want for our lives? What did God call us for? What path did we chose to live? What good deeds are we to do? We need to cast out of our system all silliness in order to be instruments of honor, to edify the Kingdom of God and to please him. Paul faced many situations in the city of Corinthian similar to those that happen today. Paul then speaks to the Corinthian brothers mentioning one of their problems. The Corinthians sat and celebrated the holy supper in disorder. Some arrived first and ate excessively, abusively and even got drunk. They gathered for this reason only, there was no worshiping, miracle or healing. There weren’t good reasons to gather. They were the church and the church has to be different from everyone else. For such reason we cannot imitate them. We must bring out all nonsense within us, ordain our body, and be wise, moderate, and prudent as the church should be. The men and woman who desire to put aside all foolishness in their lives will have peace. If not, after a certain amount of time disputes will arise. We can listen to the Word of God but if we are not well-disposed we become listeners only and not practitioners. James 1:22 When we are willing to improve to be ambassadors of peace, to bring out the foolishness and quarrelsome in us we become practitioners of the word, we live the Word of God. Why do we congregate? 1 Corinthians 11:17 We congregate to pray, worship and seek what God wants for our life. The devil is the one that wants to destroy and kill us. If we manage to understand that many things that come upon us come from Satan, we will reject them immediately. By living in disputes we cannot be useful for the Lord. The Bible says that the servant of God has to be kind with everyone, capable of teaching and correcting with humbleness. 2 Timothy 2:24 When we make the decision to cast out evilness, it is not only to cry but to end it for once and for all. If we don’t rectify and cast out all foolishness, there are going to be problems for us and for the church and God will stop the blessing. With sadness Paul said what he had to say. We need to congregate for the best, which is why we gather in the House of the Lord. We are to follow in order the instructions that have been given to us. We must know that the instructions in the House of God are to comply with them, live them with all our heart and our minds. When we decided to be a part of the body, it was for the best, not for the worse. We must remember when we first arrived to the House of the Lord we were destroyed in sin and perdition, but know we will comply with the instructions and we will have the blessings of God which is for those who believe and love him.

Disputes are necessary among the brothers, Paul said, to find out who has been approved. 1 Corinthians 11:19 We don’t congregate so that our problems will be solved or to use God as our messenger. We must know that we are to receive the good things from God, the abundance as well as the scarcity. Philippians 4:11 We congregate to love God. The best thing in life is to live by instructions, in order. If we decided to be a part of the body of Christ it is for the best. In church is where we receive the most. When we have problems we cannot walk away from God. We arrive to the House of God because there we find shelter, we find God. He will do the rest because He is compromised with us. Let us love the Church, and arrive there because it is the place where we prepare to have an encounter with the one who loves our soul. Many Christians neglect and refuse to be an instrument of honor. When people are in the flesh there opinions are so marked in them that they cannot be useful for the work of God. For Paul it was not amusing the division, disputes, disagreements (oppositions, fights) that existed among the Corinthians. Beloved, stay away from these things immediately. Sometimes we lose so much for not casting away (putting aside) the foolishness and then we cannot be in charged of the good things because there is so much conflicts in our hearts. This is harmful for us; we must put it aside and not accept it. There is one good thing that arises from disputes, and that is, the ones who are really spiritual are distinguished, the ones who are approved by God. Beloved, you must be one who is approved, not one who fails and is disapproved. Disputes are inevitable when there is a carnal condition in a person. Let us be spirituals and not live in the flesh. Those who live in disputes cannot be useful for the work of God or willing. We have been called to do good deeds, but if disputes exist, nothing can be done. There will be no love no passion or desire to do good deeds. It is time to stop being childish, let us leave the flesh and be spirituals. No one who lives under disputes and quarrels can be useful for the Lord. Each one will let see what is really inside of us. No Church can stand when this evilness exists. For such reason we must struggle to always be peaceful, love one another and be faithful with the love that God has loved us. We must succeed in the midst of disputes and do the good work of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
