"Idleness Causes Poverty" – Proverbs 10:4 On the path of poverty walk the careless, distracted and lazy. Ordinarily, the lazy resort to fraud in everything possible, in a store, where they think; He has many things in the life he lives, the smart, the bad, he is capable of looking for those who are not able to honor (respect). Nowadays everything is pure vanity.

I. The fourth commandment of God's Law (Exodus 20:9-11).

A. He gives the same importance to the work of the six days as to the rest of the Sabbath.

1. In the Proverbs, idleness is especially taken into account as a cause of poverty.

2. Being unemployed is a condition of trade or useless.

3. Poverty is a situation in which it is not possible to satisfy the needs and many that are in life!

4. "He who does not work, let him not eat" was already a proverb, a rabbinical saying that the apostle collected (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

5. (Proverbs 18:9) He who is negligent, absent-minded, careless, of course, clear, lazy, idle, but he who is diligent, quick, prompt, resolute, assiduous, and striving, succeeds.

6. The lazy or negligent has much in common with the dissipator (which destroys and wastes work, home, life), both cause great havoc or devastation.

7. Today we know that botched cars, planes, buildings, and the like cause fatal accidents. This is equally true in some offices and leadership in the church, where neglect of responsibility can lead to failure and collapse in fellowship. A church can be disintegrated (destroyed, broken into fragments, torn to pieces, shattered) by foolish negligence just as it can be by satanic attack.

8. (Proverbs 24:30-31) The writer (Solomon) passed by the vineyard of the sloth (careless, negligent, or lazy) and saw that thorns had grown and was full of them.

9. Nettles (hair on nettle, sting) and weeds filled the place.

10. The stone fence was in ruins.

11. In this scene he saw a lesson illustrated: when someone asks for a little more sleep, one more nap, a few more yawns, he can be sure that "poverty" will catch up with him as a highwayman and as an armed thief.

12. When we succumb to laziness in spiritual matters, our life (the vineyard) becomes infested with the works of the flesh (thorns and nettles).

13. There are no fruits for God.

14. Our spiritual defenses (the fence) are low; and the devil gains footing (takes advantage).

15. The result of our coldness and estrangement is poverty in the soul.

16. (Proverbs 26:13-16) In his own opinion, the lazy man is wiser than seven who know how to counsel.

17. Here we meet again the sloth and the imaginary lion that prevents him from going to work.

18. He returns to his bed just as the door turns on its hinges.

19. Now he lies on his back, now on his stomach.

20. He rolls back and forth with a lot of movement (shuddering), but no apparent progress to get up.

21. Later, when he decides, he is at the table, he puts his hand on the plate, but he does not have enough energy to put the food in his mouth.

22. Even something as pleasant as eating is an exhausting effort for him.

23. In "his own opinion" he is wiser than seven who know how to advise, that is seven intelligent men, unanimous in their insistence that he is wrong, would not change his opinion one thousandth (it is one of a thousand equal parts of something).

24. He thinks he is already wise; If he would at least stop to examine himself, he would realize his ignorance.

25. (Ecclesiastes 10:18) Laziness, a close friend of constant neglect (reluctance, laziness, carelessness, abandonment), make the house fall apart, don't say you've lost, you've dropped everything in your life, you alone.

26. Every roof (upper part of the roof) ends up falling if the owner does not take care to maintain it regularly (punctuality, regularity, order, frequency).

27. (2 Thessalonians 3:11) Now the apostle employs a delightful play on words to show the inconsistency (fruit, effect, result that they did not have) of the false spirituality of these disordered brethren.

a. Some have no occupation other than to occupy themselves with other people's things (finding out what others do as if they loved and had an interest in helping, a lie).

b. Some are not involved in useful things but are nosy.

c. Some are not busy with their own things, but too busy with the things of others.

d. Involved in everything, except in their own thing.

28. It can have more effect if you perfect your life and are not able to be aware of others.

29. (Hebrews 6:12) They should not become lazy, dragging their feet and letting their spirits languish (decay, weaken, slacken, extinguish).

30. They should persist forward, imitating those believers who by faith and patience inherit the promises. Amen
