Ask, Seek, and Knock

"Ask, Seek, and Knock" - 1 Chronicles 16:11 "Seek His face. Sing the greatness of the Lord." We must remember His deeds, the wonders He has done in the past, and remember His covenant with you; the unconditional promises He made to us on the day we came to His feet. We should not pray for help and relief.

I. (Matthew 7:7) "Ask, seek, and knock."

A. "It will be open to you."

1. How could you do it by yourself?

2. How devastated you can be if there is no prayer.

3. It is repeated: "ask, seek and knock", the command to pray is expressed in these three verbs that presuppose (obvious supposed, true the same objective, the end to be reached or the goal to be achieved).

4. "Ask," those who desire to be rich in God's grace and blessings are to engage in this most modest trade of begging, and they will see how profitable the business is for them.

5. To ask, expresses the exposure before God of your needs and problems.

6. "Seek" is used to designate "something valuable" (precisely what you need) that we have asked for; (Daniel 9:3) "I turned my face to the Lord God to seek Him in prayer, supplication in fasting, sackcloth and ashes." It's the only way to get, brother, it's not your strength or cunning.

7. "Knock," as one who wants to enter a house knocks at the door. Sin closes the door to communion with God for us; "To pray and repent," we say, "Lord, Lord, open to us" (Song of Solomon 5:2). Christ knocks at our door (Revelation 3:20) and allows us to knock at His, which we do not usually allow ordinary beggars.

8. Seek and knock implies something more than begging and asking, we must not be content with begging and asking, but we must seek and show our interest by our efforts; and if we do not do it by seeking what we ask for, perhaps we are tempting God.

9. Stop looking like victims is merely rebellious for what you desire, take care of your flesh that is treacherous.

10. We are not only to ask but also to knock on God's door and pester Him (Matthew 15:2128); not only to pray but to supplicate ardently like the Canaanite woman, wrestling with God, like Jacob, although we are not to forget that it is God who initiates the fight (Genesis 32:24) to force us to wrestle in prayer with Him.

11. The precept (command, commandment, order) of prayer has an annex (united, added, dependent) promise: our work in prayer, if we really work (till, toil, work, as opposed to lazing around) in it, will not be in vain.

12. Wherever God finds "a praying heart," He will be found as a listening God; if you pray to Him with a contrite and humbled heart, He gives a response of peace.

13. Indeed, there is a promise from God that prayer will have an answer that corresponds exactly to the precept (command) of prayer.

14. God will go out to meet those who seek Him: "ask and it will be given to you"; It does not say, "It shall be lent to you, or sold," but "It shall be given unto you," and is there anything so generous and cheap as a gift?

15. There is nothing more to ask for and you already have it, you do not have what you want, because it was not requested; to be defeated or carried to every wind of doctrine; There is no prayer.

16. (James 4:2-3) "You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly."

17. What is not considered of sufficient value to ask for it, does not have enough value to be granted it either.

18. You do a lot with your human effort, and you have, but it has occurred to you that God's value to you is considered what no one else can do, only God for His greatness and power.

19. (Isaiah 55:6) Seek and you will find and then you will not have lost your work.

20. God Himself is found by those who seek Him, and if we have Him, we have enough.

21. "Knock and it will be opened to you; The door of grace and mercy will no longer be closed to you, as to enemies and intruders, but open as to "friends and children".

22. If the door does not open at the first knock, "remain steadfast in prayer."

23. (Matthew 7:8) "For everyone who asks receives, whoever he is on earth who goes to God; all are equally well admitted to the throne of grace, if they approach in faith, for with God there is no favoritism.

24. Nothing is in our own strength, we have nothing supernatural, what we learn by our own strength.

25. Wisdom or power, for such a life, must be given to us from above.

26. So here we have an invitation to ask and to keep asking; to search and continue searching; to call and to continue calling, that is what it is (base or root, rest, support, found, put down roots).

27. The wisdom and power for the Christian life will be given to all who pray for both fervently (passionately, ardently) and persistently (constant, continuous, lasting), not in need while the circumstance lasts; it is forever the seeking. Amen
