The soul, its yoke is Jesus

"The soul, its yoke is Jesus" - Matthew 10:28 The soul is spiritual and living because it comes from God and also that it is natural because it manifests itself physically through the body, it should be noted that we must all try to have our soul connected to the Spirit of God and free from all "contamination", because it is necessary that we live in holiness so that the day we depart from this earth our "soul" can spend eternity in Heaven where our Lord Jesus is, because God does not want our souls to be lost, let us walk in the fruits of the Spirit, do not satisfy the works of the flesh and we will attain salvation sitting in "heavenly places together with Christ".

I. The disciples were not to fear men.

A. They should have a reverent fear of "the one" who can destroy soul and body in hell."

1. This is the greatest loss—eternal separation from God, Christ, and all hope.

2. Spiritual death is that loss that cannot be measured and the fate that must be avoided at all costs.

3. The words of Jesus: (John Knox) whose epitaph reads, "Here lies one who feared God so much that he was never afraid of any man."

4. (Matthew 11:29, 30) Rest for our souls.

5. Prayer is an element of effective soul care.

6. By experiencing God's love and care, "we find rest for our weary souls." (29)

7. "Take My yoke upon you."

8. This involves submitting to His will, surrendering control of life to Him.

9. "Learn from Me."

10. By acknowledging His lordship over all areas of our lives, He instructs us in His ways.

11. "That I am meek and humble of heart."

12. In contrast to the Pharisees, who were tough and proud, the true teacher is gentle and humble.

13. All who bear His yoke will learn to take the lowest place.

14. "And ye shall find rest for your souls."

15. Here it is not a question of the rest of the conscience but the rest of the heart that is found in taking "the humblest place before God and man."

16. It is also the rest one experiences in the service of Christ "when we cease to try to be great."

17. For (30) My yoke is comfortable, and my burden light.

18. Here again we have a sharp contrast with the Pharisees.

19. Jesus said of them, "Because they bind heavy burdens that are hard to bear, and put them on the shoulders of men; but they don't even want to move them with a finger." (Matthew 23:4).

20. Our soul must have no other yoke than that of Jesus. (29).

21. The yoke of Jesus is easy; It does not cause chafing.

22. Someone has said, "If Jesus had had an announcement outside of His carpenter's shop, He could have said," "Tight-fitting yokes."

23. "His burden is light."

24. No one should put burdens on us (demands for the vain "I").

25. This does not mean that there will not be problems, trials, or pains in the Christian life.

26. But it does mean that we will not have to endure them alone.

27. We are yoked with One (Jesus) who gives enough grace for every time of need.

28. To serve Him is not slavery, but perfect freedom.

30. The fatal mistake for the believer is to try to carry the burden of life on a single necklace: "God never intended for man to 'bear his burden alone.'" Therefore, Christ only deals in yokes! A yoke is a harness for two necks and the Lord Himself asks to be One of the two. He wants to share the tasks of any bitter task. The secret of peace and victory in the Christian life is to be found in throwing off the exhausting collar of "I" and accepting "the soothing yoke of the Master."

31. (Psalm 42:1-3) David felt his heart sick.

32. He enjoys his fellowship with God; it was a vital need for his soul.

33. He regarded it not merely as the sweetest of all privileges, but as an "absolute necessity," like water to the deer.

34. Give to his God, and he is content, like the deer that at last quenches its thirst and is perfectly satisfied; but deny his Lord and his heart chokes his chest, beats, he all trembles like one who lacks breath after a race.

35. My soul thirsts for God.

36. See that your heart does not rest on any of your duties, except in Christ.

37. Actually, you must have relationship with heaven and fellowship with Christ, which is called into the presence of God, that is, to stand before Him.

38. Nor does the soul with grace have any interest in empty duties. Amen
