Judas Iscariot, the Betrayer of Jesus

Christian Church Mega Zoé · Pastor Edermira Cruz

"Judas Iscariot, the Betrayer of Jesus" - Acts 1:18 Judas had his qualities (which were the characteristics that distinguish and define people); It refers to a being with power, reasoning (reason), who possesses conscience: (understanding, intellect, intelligence) morality and remorse. It is the property of the human spirit that allows it to recognize itself in the essential attributes: its attributes, qualities, traits, character, nature.

I. From this we can see Judas.

A. Judas is driven by greed. (Matthew 26:14, 15)

1. Judas is driven by meanness, baseness.

2. Greed is an excessive desire to possess wealth, goods or anything that symbolizes status in society.

3. They put material gains before anything else.

4. As it happened to Judas with Jesus, the Son of God.

5. You can imagine that the Son of God leaves even His glory and comes to a small earth, not to exhibit all His glory, but an unjust death, at the hands of His beloved, disciple.

6. "Hypocrisy was" another quality, that characteristic that distinguished him from others. (John 12:5-6)

7. Its falsehood: a smile, a lie, pretense, duplicity.

8. Hypocrisy is the act in which one behaves in a way contrary to the values held by oneself.

9. Hypocrisy is the cancer of personal and professional relationships.

10. It manifests itself in people who "love" you only until your presence is useful to them.

11. Their loyalty ended when they could no longer profit.

12. They feign feelings contrary to those they really have or experience.

13. They act in accordance with principles that are at the same time criticized.

14. Hypocrisy is an act in which an individual behaves in a way that is contrary to the values held by you.

15. A hypocrite is someone who hides his intentions and true personality.

16. Betrayal (Mark 14:10) Unfaithfulness, disloyalty.

17. An offense that is committed by breaking the fidelity or loyalty that should be kept or had.

18. (John 12:6) Dishonesty is the absence of honesty, the lack of commitment that "a person has to the truth."

19. This can translate into different actions, attitudes and specific behaviors, which always have in common a link with lying, manipulation or deception.

20. Remorse (Matthew 27:3, 4; Acts 1:18) that inner sorrow that remains after performing what is considered a wrong deed.

21. A distressing emotion that he experiences.

22. They'll never excuse you if they knew what you did.

23. Do you notice that heavy load that sometimes it doesn't even let you sleep?

24. Guilt haunts you every day and drowns you to the bottom of shame.

II. Where we see every act of Judas.

A. (Matthew 26:14, 15) One of them was a devil.

1. The twelve were chosen as close friends of Jesus, and yet one of them betrayed Him.

2. There are no bonds of friendship, duty, or gratitude that can stop those who have the devil within them in the race of evil.

3. The mixture of good and evil found among Christ's followers.

4. What do you want to give me, and I will give Him to you?

5. It was not they who went to him to make the proposal; it would not have occurred to them that one of Christ's own disciples could be a traitor to Him.

6. Judas promised, "I will deliver Him to you"; so that they could apprehend Him without noise or danger of a commotion.

7. They didn't dare to mess with Him in public, they didn't know where Jesus was.

8. I will give Him to you: What will you give me?

9. This is the only thing that made Judas betray his Master; he hoped to get money this way; It wasn't hate, it wasn't just complaint, it was just the love of money.

10. (John 12:5-6) His hypocrisy.

11. Mark and Matthew mention the other disciples as being angry with Mary, but John points out precisely the person who caused the murmuring.

12. Judas, his displeasure: Why was not this perfume sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?

13. To censure an act under the cloak of generous zeal.

14. Here charity towards the poor appears as a low cloak in which the vilest of covetousness is hidden surreptitiously.

15. Why wasn't it given to the poor?

16. John discovers his true motive because he is well acquainted with the cloth, which impels Judas to make this hypocritical statement: But he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but "because he was a thief, and having the purse, he stole from it."

17. Judas' censure did not spring from the poor, but from his avarice.

18. Betrayal (Matthew 24:10; Luke 22:47, 48).

19. Although he had lived with the Lord Jesus for at least a year and had received nothing but kindness from Him, Judas now sneaked up to the chief priests with the offer to "betray" the Son of God "treacherously" into their hands.

20. They took advantage of his offer well-disposed and offered to pay him for his perfidy (treason, disloyalty).

21. As always of a betrayal he had to do now, he was to adjust the details.

22. Dishonesty (John 12:6) Judas did not say this because he had any true love, but because he was a thief and greedy.

23. He subtracted from what was put into it.

24. Remorse (Acts 1:18).

25. Field of blood.

26. He went and hanged himself and with that money they looked for how they buried him. Amen
