Chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father

"Chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father" – 1 Peter 1:2 The progression of salvation involves the three Persons of the Trinity. How much value you place on your salvation; you can be lukewarm or carnal, and always live like this, but remember that your heart has not yet enjoyed: How great is God! in your life and you have not taken advantage of it, and you have not sanctified yourself along this path. Full of mystery unknown to your flesh.

I. For the brothers of the letter.

A. That today you and I have it in the Church and in your house.

1. To let them see how great this salvation is, so great and powerful not to condemn us.

2. First, they were chosen according to the foreknowledge (God knows all things before they exist) of God the Father.

3. This means that, in an eternity past, God chose them to belong to Him.

4. You know why, God knew how you were going to be, your reactions in life, what you live, how you act; because you are the one who lets yourself be carried away by what you want, good or bad and that is what God has told you that you want to choose and God will pay each one what he chooses.

5. The doctrine of divine election is not always popular (which is esteemed) but it has this virtue (power, strength, ability, potency): Let God be God.

6. Attempts to make it acceptable to man only succeed in detracting (subtracting, taking away) from God's sovereignty.

7. Any difficulty in bringing "the divine election (choosing)" into line "with human responsibility" exists only in the mind of man, not in God's.

8. The Bible teaches both doctrines (1. responsibility and 2. election), and we should believe both.

9. "God's election" is "according to" (conforming or rooted) His foreknowledge (He knows all things before they exist).

10. Some believe or understand this to mean that God chose a. knowledge of future things to those who knew that they would trust in the Savior.

11. Although in the election of God there is a mystery for the human because it cannot be described, it is that it is impressive, admirable mystery, we can be sure that there is nothing unfair in it.

12. The second step in salvation is the "sanctification of the Spirit."

13. This aspect of "sanctification" takes place before conversion (2 Thessalonians 2:13).

14. Logically it follows election on the part of God the Father.

15. In eternity God foreknew and chose men.

16. In time the Holy Spirit works to make this real choice in the lives of the people God chooses.

17. The third step in the salvation of the soul "is the response from sin" to the work of the Holy Spirit.

18. It is described as the attitude of "obeying Jesus Christ."

19. Your life to prove that you are a chosen one is how you obey Jesus.

20. Heaven has no obligations to you; you have obligations to heaven; leave all that importance that you give yourself.

21. Is obeying Jesus Christ what you live for?

22. This means obedience to the gospel by repentance of sins and reception of Christ as Savior.

23. The concept (idea, thought) of the gospel as something to be obeyed is common in the New Testament (2 Thessalonians 1:8).

24. Today the act of "being sprinkled" with "His blood."

25. It is that as soon as a person obeys the gospel, he receives all the benefits that emanate from the shedding of Christ's blood at Calvary.

26. The Savior's blood was shed once and for all more than 2024 years ago, it will never be poured out again.

27. But we receive forgiveness, redemption, and the countless other blessings that emanate from that crimson (red) torrent as soon as we believe in Him.

28. Peter now desires that grace and peace be multiplied for them. Amen, more blessing.

29. They have already experienced God's grace in salvation and the resulting peace with God.

30. But they will need, or we need "grace" every day (the resources that emanate from grace by virtue of our union with Christ in His resurrection), sin should no longer be in one. We do not have to give in to the demands of "sin" or strength for the Christian life, and "peace" amid a turbulent society.

31. James Denney said that "grace is the first and last word of the gospel; and peace, "perfect spiritual healing," is the finished work of grace. Amen.
