Incomplete Obedience

"Incomplete Obedience" – 1 Samuel 15:19-26 Saul was sliding downwards, and his fall was accelerating. Whatever it was, when he had to do it, "he never obeyed completely". For there are many who do this: they have their own opinions or suggestions (put underneath, propose, hint or suggest) in God this is not existent, because He is the guide of what He wants to do through His instrument, never, never are two instruments; neither familiarity, nor friends, nor so-called leaders.

I. The Amalekites were to be destroyed (Deuteronomy 25:17-19).

A. God's word had not changed.

1. God's patience had endured the people of Amalek for many years (Exodus 17:14-16; Numbers 24:20).

2. To the city of Amalek, before attacking, he warned the Kenites to escape, they had shown mercy to Israel.

3. It wasn't that Saul didn't want to execute them, nor that the Lord took vengeance on a wicked people and completely defeated the Amalekites and they all died by the sword.

4. Except for the king and all the good of the spoils.

5. From afar, Jehovah informed Samuel of Saul's disobedience.

6. This disturbed (annoyingly, upset) Samuel greatly and caused him to pray all night.

7. From the "manner" it was clear what he had to do.

8. Saul (1 Samuel 15:13-15) presents Samuel with everything perfect, because incomplete obedience is not pleasing to God.

9. On the way to Gilgal, Saul built a monument to celebrate "his victory," not God's.

10. But Samuel saw things differently and confronted Saul's disobedience.

11. Saul, like any disobedient, never lacked "excuses" and "explanations" to justify himself (defend himself), but the noise of his disobedience reached the prophet's ears; (20) But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD and have gone on a mission which the LORD has sent me, I have the king, but I have destroyed all the rest.

12. Jehovah is pleased that they obey (22) "the words of Jehovah; Obedience is better than sacrifices, "and heeding than the fat of rams".

13. Jehovah is pleased (satisfaction, pleasure, pleasing) with your being obedient and it is the least that pleases humans.

14. (Matthew 26:14-16) Judas said, "What will you give me, and I will give Him to you?"

15. Judas hands Jesus over in the Garden of Olives, with a kiss he gives Him.

16. The chief priests took the money and said, "This money is stained with blood, we cannot put it in the offering chest."

17. (Acts 1:17-18) He was numbered with us.

18. He was chosen for obedience to God the Father.

19. (18) And this man, with the wages of his iniquity (wickedness, depravity), acquired a field; "Field of blood."

20. (Psalm 41:7, 8, 9) How easily dogs unite to go out and hunt the deer!

21. I observed the unanimity of the wicked: all.

22. If only we were united in holy work only half as much as they are, and our prudence were half of their cunning.

23. (9) Even the man of my peace; Even my close friend.

24. To David, this was Ahithophel (2 Samuel 16:20) who was his counselor; the king.

25. Absalom starts his revolt, turns his back on David, and he embraces Absalom's cause.

26. Perhaps, Ahithophel decides to take his life and by his high treachery his high fidelity to David faints, as Judas did to the Master (2 Samuel 17:23).

27. This was Ahithophel, who was to "David what Iscariot was to the Lord".

28. Judas was an apostle admitted (welcomed, esteemed) into the intimacy of the Great Teacher, aware of His secret thought, "as it were, 'allowing him to read the very heart of Jesus'.

29. The betrayer's kiss wounded the Lord's heart as the nail wounded His hand. C.H.S.

30. The sad and unfortunate thing was that Judas never, never, never ever could have the place that had been prepared for him because such money, no matter how much it was, was nothing.

31. For the worst for him there was no forgiveness, nothing but a consuming fire.

32. Jesus went to the Cross for forgiveness, but for Judas there was no room for forgiveness.

33. Jesus had not died to forgive Judas' sin, for him there was none.

34. The sufferings of the church, like those of her Redeemer, usually begin at home; Her enemies cannot harm her until her supposed (alleged) friends have delivered her into their hands and strange as it may seem, those who have fattened up their riches are the first to "raise their heels" against her.
