Silence fears and encourage faith

"Silence fears and encourage faith" - Hebrews 13:6 Psalm 118:6 says, "The Lord is with me; "I will not fear." (frighten= startle, scare, terrify). When lower creatures are backed up by higher ones, they are full of courage; when the master is near, the dog ventures to attack animals larger than him and is not afraid of it; but when his master is absent, he will not do so. When God is with us, He is supreme, and this should "remove all fear." This happened to David: "The Lord is with me; " I will not fear "what man may do to me."

I. He is a shield for me; I will not fear, but I will hope.

A. Let him do me all the harm he can, my enemy.

1. Frowning, threatening, scheming, arming oneself, beating, the Lord is at my side.

2. He takes special care of me.

3. He is a shield for me.

4. I will not fear, but I will hope.

5. (Psalm 28:7) Jehovah is my strength and my shield. a.) If strength is added to it, in case the load is doubled, the strength is tripled and the load will not be heavier, but lighter. b.) If we cannot bear the burden in our own strength, why should we not be able to carry it in the strength of Jesus Christ? c.) This strength is given to us by faith and therefore the strength of Christ is ours, which has passed to us. d.) With my song I will praise you. e.) Let us praise the Lord and rejoice (intense joy) in Him.

6. (Psalm 40:17) Jehovah will think of me. a.) When God thinks of you, He knows perfectly well what your situation is, your dangers, your needs. b.) Observe the efficiency (ability to obtain a result) of His thoughts. c.) The one who thinks of you is a God at hand, not distant: He has "all the events (that happen) under His control"; he is the God of all grace (having all the resources that emanate from grace in virtue (capacity, power, potency). d.) (Isaiah 41:10) To quiet the fears; and to encourage the faith, of God's servants in their afflictions. e.) That "Let us note" is repeated (v. 10, 13, 14). f.) It goes against God's intent that "His" people be a "fearful people." g.) We must depend on His presence as my God. h.) I am with you (10) do not be dismayed, for I am your God who "strives" you; I will always help you and always uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness. i.) What can be feared by going hand in hand with God?

7. (Isaiah 50:9) Isaiah was no doubt also burdened with evil insults, reproaches and slanders, but he knew that in the end (at last) God would vindicate (avenge, defend) "his cause, which was that of God Himself."

a.) That they would prove that the prophet was an evildoer (criminal, thug) or "that they were not right in the messages they proclaimed." b.) The righteous cause of Christ and His prophets will survive all opposition: "they will be eaten by the moth," like clothing. c.) All of them will be aged like dress clothes. d.) Such a small thing (moth) is enough to destroy it.

8. (Hebrews 13:6) May we be encouraged not to lose heart, knowing who it is that always protects us.

9. He is the Omnipotent Helper (who can do everything, absolute, superior, who encompasses everything, who has no difficulty, does not need anyone, in every way).

10. The Almighty and faithful Help of Christians who always "comes to our aid" "in times of danger" and never disappoints us.

11. With all your strength, silence your fears and do your own thing; Animate faith, with the first miracle of deliverance that you have been bound by: tears, pain, abuse, and so on that have bound you. Liberate yourself in the name of Jesus! Amen.
