Firm Will

"Firm Will" – 1 Corinthians 15:58 We can be very excited the day that Jesus arrived and makes you a new creature and you are free, joy comes to you, but it says Revelation 2:7, To him who overcomes I will give food from the tree of life; his victory demonstrates the reality of his conversion experience, it is a transformation or change of what he was not. After the change you must keep in such a change of your life, be constant (faithful, firm, persevering).

I. For many, Christ has not been born in their hearts.

A. One who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (1 John 5:5): in other words, a true believer.

1. "Your faith" enables you to overcome the world with all its temptations and seductions.

2. Your victories demonstrate the reality of your conversion experience.

3. (Job 11:14-15) The best thing Job can do is to "cast off" his sins; then "God will give him security, rest, and comfort."

4. In order to pray in trust, all evil must be cast off.

5. Let not injustice dwell in his house: let whatever is not right in his house be reformed.

6. He is assured that he will do very well with the advice he gives him, and "Then you shall lift up your face clean of blemish and be strong," and you shall fear nothing.

7. Job was confused as he looked upon God (Job 10:15) as his enemy and contended with Him.

8. (1 Corinthians 15:58) My beloved brethren.

9. He addresses a few points to the faithful of Corinth: a.) To become firm, "firm" in the truths of the faith that they learned from the apostle and in the standards of conduct that characterize those who have "followed in the footsteps of the Lord". It is not merely what is asked of us, it is the footsteps of Jesus, not of what you believe, understand or think so freely. b.) Unshakable, (constant) so that nothing and no one can divert them from the true path, nor from the glorious hope of rising one day incorruptible and immortal. Christians are not to be removed from this gospel hope. This hope must be the anchor of our soul. c.) To abound in the work of the Lord always. Such a glorious hope should vigorously (strongly) stimulate eagerness, constancy, and patience in every work we do for the Lord. My brother, anything small or large comes to you to take away your strength so that you will not be able to be a complier, so that you will not carry out the work of the Lord that had been placed in your hands. Maybe you don't know the value here on earth, but when time passes you only have losses in your hands and in losses there are no rewards. d.) Knowing that your tiring work (hard work.... difficult, thorny) in the Lord, that is, in union with the risen Lord, glorious, powerful, it is not empty, it is not done in vain.

e.) As sure as Christ is risen, they too will be raised. God is a very good master and a very good payer, with "Him we never lost", because "He is not unjust" or "unfaithful" so as to forget or not take into account what is done for Him. f.) (Ephesians 3:20) Moreover, He can do all things far more abundantly than we ask or think. g.) Therefore, those who serve God can never work too hard or suffer too much for such a good Master.

10. (2 Peter 3:17) Believers are to be constantly on guard against the danger of error.

11. The knowledge that there will always be false teachers who will corrupt and "imitate" the truth should keep us on our toes.

12. It is easy for the unwary (without malice, innocent) to be swept away by the "error of the wicked" (perverse, villainous) and lose "spiritual balance".

13. Do not fall from your firm position.

14. Be on guard, be alert.

15. You can fall from firmness in faith and good morals. Amen.
