God Is God

"God Is God" - 2 Chronicles 26:15-21 You are you. We must know that we are what Uzziah was, that we found the blessing. Uzziah fought victoriously against the Philistines and Ammonites, and he also increased Judah's defenses. He gathered an elite army and built a powerful armory to equip it. He also built towers and promoted agricultural development. The invented machines were a kind of catapult. The king grew great, and pride took him.

I. But Uzziah exalted himself (magnifies).

A. He entered the temple as a high priest.

1. To burn incense before the Lord.

2. Solomon and Jehoshaphat had prayed with the people and preached to them.

3. If Uzziah had done this, he would have been mentioned for his praise; but when he burns incense, he is mentioned to shame.

4. (Numbers 16:35) Korah and his accomplices, though Levites, paid dearly for the daring to burn incense, which was exclusive to the priests.

5. (2 Chronicles 26:17) Azariah and other "eighty priests," "all" "valiant men," went "after" the king.

6. The priests' rebukes infuriated Uzziah, "but before he could do so," Jehovah smote him with "leprosy."

7. Instead of humbling himself, "Uzziah was angry" with the priests, without letting go of the censer from his hand.

8. The one who wants positional (position = something is placed) in the priestly place is rebellion, ambition, pride, conceit of thinking that he deserves it by some right.

9. Uzziah was the king, the holy is carried by the one who is holy in the priestly service.

10. Even if he had done all the good he did, it was destroyed by the vanity of pretending to be even better in the priestly sphere.

11. So, they hurried him out of the temple, to which he never returned.

12. It will not be for him to glory in the sight of Jehovah God.

13. Pride will never give glory to God; pride is for the individual.

14. He was full of anger; and in his anger against the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead.

15. His loneliness, in a secluded house, for which he was excluded from Jehovah's house.

16. It was to be known, and the one that automatically separated him "from dealing with others", a fortiori, "from the altar of God".

17. He had to live confined "in a secluded house".

18. It was a punishment that corresponded very appropriately to his sin.

19. Deep down it was a sin of pride and for this reason, God imposed this humiliation and this dishonor on him.

20. (Deuteronomy 24:8-9) He usurped a priestly function, and God smote him with a disease that subjected him to inspection (watching, supervision, overseeing) and judgment of the priests, as commanded.

21. He entered the sanctuary of God, a place that was reserved for priests, and was therefore excluded even from the courts of the temple, where the vilest of his subjects could enter as long as he was ceremonially clean.

22. Uzziah was not buried in the tombs "of kings", because he was a leper; He was buried in the field next to the "royal tombs".

23. Let us know the dangers we can have, God is God; One God in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

24. As we draw near to God, let us keep in mind that He is:

a. Deity = Supernatural being who is worshipped, considering that He has power over a realm (real, precise, exists) of reality and over the destiny of humans; It is God.

b. Divinity = Supernatural being worshipped; believers consider that He have power over a concrete sphere (place) (it is real, it exists) of reality and over the destiny of humans (Deity, God).

c. Supreme = Most High, He has no superior in His line.

d. Omnipotent = He can do everything. Almighty, attribute of God alone.

e. Omnipresent = That is present everywhere at the same time.

f. Omniscient = Who knows real and possible things. The one who understands and knows everything.

g. Creator = God, who creates, Father, the only true one.

h. Judge = Who has the authority to judge, resolves, defines and decides the destiny of each one, authority to resolve any matter.

i. Protector = defender, Protecter, Favorer, protect, help, favors with His strength so that it will be in good condition, the capacity for sacrifice, the one who lifts the spirits of the soldiers of His army, a protector who will show the difference between good and evil; the truth and justice of Christ will result.
