He is the way

"He is the way" - John 14:1-14 The Lord has never wanted our hearts to be troubled. They already believed in God that no one has seen Him. Well, then let us believe in Him, in the same way. No one has seen God, and they believe Him, they talk about God, they have His name in their mouths, so let's do the same with Him. That He is close and full of miracles.

I. Jesus knows mortal.

A. Do not be troubled by the heart.

1. Jesus knows the gravest problems of the disciples at any time when the tribulation seems ready to "flood us".

2. The (2) house of the Father we must know is heaven, where there are many mansions.

3. The place is for all the redeemed, it will free someone from suffering or punishment.

4. So, I am going to prepare a place for you, it may be that:

a. The Lord Jesus went to Calvary to prepare a place for His own. It is through His atoning death (which allows sin to be removed) that believers are assured of a place there.

b. But the Lord also went to Heaven to prepare a place. Not much is known about that place, but we do know that accommodation is being arranged for each child of God, "a place prepared for a willing people".

c. Jesus intercedes (Romans 8:34) ...the one who is also at the right hand of God, the one who also intercedes (speaking on behalf of someone to deliver him) for us.

5. (3) It is when the Lord will come again in the air, when (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) all who have died in the faith will be resurrected, when the living will be changed, and when the blood-redeemed multitude will be taken to the heavenly home.

6. It is a personal, literal coming of Christ.

7. As sure as He left, "He will come back again."

8. His desire is to have His own with Him for all eternity.

9. (4-5) He was going to heaven, and they knew "the way" to heaven, because He had told them so many times.

10. (5) Evidently Thomas had not understood the meaning of the Lord's words.

11. (6) This verse makes it clear that the Lord Jesus Christ is Himself "the way to heaven".

12. It is not merely that He shows the way: He is the way.

13. Salvation is in a Person.

14. Accept this Person as your own and you possess salvation.

15. Christianity is Christ.

16. The Lord Jesus is not just one of several ways.

17. He is the only Way.

18. No one comes to the Father except through Him.

19. The Lord is "the truth".

20. It is not only One who teaches the truth; He is the truth.

21. (7) Once again, the Lord taught the mysterious union that exists between the Father and Himself.

22. If "the disciples" had "recognized" "who Jesus really was," they would have known the Father as well, "because the Lord revealed the Father to men. Wow!

23. "And from now on," especially after Christ's resurrection, the disciples would understand that Jesus was God the Son.

24. Then they would realize that to know Christ was to "know" the Father and to "see the Lord Jesus" was "to see God".

25. There are three distinct "Persons" in the "Godhead," but there is "only" one God.

26. (6) Philip wanted the Lord to "give him some special revelation" from the Father, and this was all he would ask; and it is enough for us.

27. He didn't understand that everything the Lord was and did and said, "was a revelation from the Father.

28. Wow, some people are like that, like someone who says "that's not enough, give me more"; those who despise it.

29. (9) Patiently, Jesus corrected him.

30. Philip had been with Jesus for a long time: So long... and have you not known Me, Philip?

31. But I was not yet conscious of the full truth of Christ's deity and of His unity with the Father; it can happen to you.

32. He didn't know that when he beheld Jesus, he was beholding the One who exhibited the Father perfectly.

33. (10-11) I am in the Father and the Father is in Me, describe the intimate relationship of union between the "Father" and the Son.

34. No mortal mind can ever comprehend Deity.

35. Jesus came into the world as the "Servant of Jehovah" and spoke and acted in perfect obedience to the Father.

36. It is the duty of the disciples to believe that He was one with the Father, to believe because of "the works" He performed.

37. Jesus anticipated that believers in Him would perform miracles like Him, and even "greater."

38. When the disciples were at the "Pentecost," and the worldwide proclamation of the gospel" and with the "building up of the church."

39. (13) Disciples, pray to the Father and receive your requests; Ask in My name.

40. (14) Ask for something the Lord may desire, and your prayers will be answered.

41. Live in the center of His will, walk in communion with the Lord. Amen
