Obedience is Easy for the Meek One – 2 Kings 5:10-11 A girl, a slave of Naaman (2), was from Israel. Syria, with armed bands, had taken her captive from the land of Israel. She said to her mistress: If only “my master” (aim) (the point of what she needs, in the center of getting or obtaining a favor, a service or a certain good) ‘would see the prophet' who is in Samaria, "he would heal him of his leprosy."

I. Naaman consults the king of Syria, he is a man subject to his king.

A. It is sent by the king to the king of Israel.

1. He brings gifts to the king, letter (7): an insult and a pretext for war against him.

2. Am I God?

3. Send someone to me to be cure of his leprosy!

4. He thought that the king of Syria wanted to trap him. 5 . From king to king, the king of Syria thought that he could help him to be a faithful servant, that he would lead him from many victories to conquer Syria, he was the general of the army, he was a man of extreme bravery, but a leper.

6. Well, so many good qualities, but that general, I assure you, organized all the defeats that Israel had with Syria.

7. In the eyes of the king of Israel, he was an enemy.

8. Moreover, the king of Israel was not a healer of people, because it seemed to him a mockery, and he sought an opportunity against him.

9. (8) Elisha: Come now to me, and you will know that there is a prophet in Israel.

10. A prophet, for they were all idolaters, God who had power to cleanse and heal that man.

11. (9) Elisha did not speak "personally" to Naaman; his word would be sufficient if he was guided by faith.

12. The meek have faith, not haughtiness, nor reasoning, and least of all the ego, it is faith that leads to winning, because faith conquers the impossible for man.

13. Elisha sent a message to Naaman, commanding him to "wash seven times" in the Jordan River (10).

14. Obedience is easy for the meek.

15. Pride pushes itself back.

16. Naaman (11) expected a more dramatic way of healing (exaggerated, excessive disgust) and with more pomp than this.

17. You can imagine if Jesus had any of this.

18. He protested by "leaving" angrily and saying that "the waters of Damascus" were superior to those of the "Jordan."

19. Naaman had two diseases: pride and leprosy.

20. He needed to be healed of both the first and the second.

21. Naaman was to descend from the "chariot of pride," then "wash himself according to the manner commanded of him.

22. Those servants (12) persuaded him to do what the prophet commanded him.

23. So leper, and how proud because he was a general!

24. It has been well said that "He swallowed his pride and his leprosy disappeared."

25. (15) Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth except in Israel.

26. Yet he wanted to give him a present, 'As the Lord lives, in whose presence I am,' which I will not accept (16), but he would not.

27. (20) But Gehazi, obsessed with greed, coveted Naaman's gifts, which Elisha had refused.

28. So he went after Naaman the Syrian and told him that Elisha had sent him (20) to collect the gifts to give to two young prophets who came from Mount Ephraim.

29. He took the money and the clothes and took them home.

30. They belonged to the prophet, and he did not want them; the reason, Elisha only knows.

31. The one who brings it into the house to hide it.

32. Elisha was instrumental in the downfall of the greedy Gehazi; for Elisha it was the payment for his miracles.

33. Who can argue with that? Go to heaven and discuss it with the divine God.

34. As a prophet (26), Elisha often received special revelations from the Lord.

35. He was told what his servant had done, and when Gehazi arrived, Elisha exposed him.

36. Gehazi soon understood that the "Spirit of prophecy" could not be deceived and that it was in vain to try to lie to the "Holy Spirit"; This is the terrible, big problem, no one can get into the area of the Holy Spirit and lie to Him.

37. "You said you didn't go anywhere, but wasn't my heart there too?

38. He reminded the greedy servant that it was not "time to take money" from a situation that seemed to be healed by Syrian money; to show that the free gift of God's grace was not free.

39. Gehazi went out with "Naaman's leprosy."

40. Thus it is marked with the mark of infamy (vileness, wickedness, affecting a person's honor), carrying this mark wherever it goes.

41. What good did it profit Gehazi to have gained two talents of silver, when he thereby lost his health, his honor, his peace, and, if he did not repent, a soul crying out for eternity. Amen.
