He Who Diligently Seeks Him

"He Who Diligently Seeks Him " - John 5:30 The Old Testament allows us to know and understand the New Testament. We do know Solomon as king of Israel. In the beginning he was faithful to the Lord God and was blessed with wisdom and riches. However, Solomon deviated from the worship of the true God and worshipped the idols of his many wives. Judah and Benjamin and the other ten are left out of the union.

I. Another purpose of Kings to provide a chronology of the kings of Israel and Judah.

A. This should help us to know the seasons of God and to be able to point out the presence of our beloved Lord Jesus.

1. In addition, these books show the contrast of the lives of those who obeyed and those who disobeyed God.

2. The records teach us how God judges and blesses.

3. Our Christian judgment and thinking are informed by biblical stories.

4. (John 5:30) By Myself I can do nothing.

5. God wants us to have His time and seasons, to see the Lord in every time of ours.

6. You know something about time: you can't treasure it, time passes, and you can't stop it; Nothing can modify (change, vary, change) its course, "there it goes, and you can't even touch it", alas!

7. Nor can you save anything for the future.

8. What you have to do now, and you didn't, you lost it, and no one is to blame anymore, only you.

9. Jesus said, "I can't do anything by Myself."

10. The thought is that He is so closely united to God the Father that He could not act for Himself.

11. He could do nothing on His own authority.

12. There was no trace of voluntariness (deciding and ordaining, free will) in the Savior.

13. He acted in "perfect obedience to His Father" and "always" in the most "full communion" and harmony with Him.

14. Men can do whatever things they want, whether they are in accordance with God's will or not.

15. I can do nothing of Myself: as I hear, so I judge: and My judgment is just; for "I seek not My own will, but the will of the Father who sent Me.

16. But because of who He was, the Lord Jesus couldn't act the same way.

17. It was not a physical impossibility, but a moral one: norms, values, customs, a set of beliefs; which actions are right (good), and which are wrong (bad); knowledge that is gained about "the highest and noblest."

18. He had the physical ability to do all things, but He couldn't do anything that was wrong.

19. As the Lord Jesus listened to His Father and received instructions "daily" from Him, He "thought," "taught," and "acted."

20. As I hear, that's how I judged then to decide what He should do and speak.

21. And it would have been wrong for Him to do anything that wasn't God the Father's will for Him.

22. This statement sets the Lord Jesus apart from any other man who "ever lived."

23. Because the Savior had no selfish motives, He could decide issues in a fair and impartial manner.

24. His only ambition was to please His Father and do His will.

25. He didn't let anything get in the way of this.

26. Therefore, His consideration of things was not influenced by what would go to His greatest benefit.

27. Opinions and teachings are generally affected by what we want to do and what we want to believe.

28. But it was not so with the Son of God.

29. His opinions or judgments "were not influenced in His own favor."

30. He lacked prejudice (preconceived opinion, judgment formed before having reality, prejudging).

31. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith not only believes that God exists but trusts that He rewards (recompenses) those who seek Him.

32. There is nothing in God that makes it impossible for men to believe.

33. The difficulty lies in the human will.

34. How much more should we, as His followers, seek only to do the Father's will to the best of our ability, because if we do: "He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (careful, exact, and active, "prompt," quick or light in action).
