Devastated and void

"Devastated and void" Jeremiah 4:22-31 Destroyed, ruined, razed to the ground. What happens on earth: through disobedience it is finished, impoverished, devastated, destroyed. When the earth is left alone, the reason is that God has put an end to it. God created, and He is the one who has the power, because they did not know how to do good. That's right: man doesn't like to do good on earth. One lives to boast, lie, hate, and live merely for the pleasures of the flesh; So, it is difficult to find good on earth and there we see the destruction. Good or evil is in one's hands. What you decide you will have. Do not point out, look at yourself.

I. (Ezekiel 15:8) They committed prevarication (omission of the word of God; it is committed by an authority in issuing an arbitrary decision knowing its injustice).

A. Thus, everything in life will be destroyed.

1. The chosen Jewish nation, which had been famous as the people of the holy God, by being perverted was "no longer" good for anything, but to be delivered to the fire, and that is what God was going to do.

2. This holy city has become useless to the point that it serves no purpose.

3. It only served a great deal when it abounded in "fruits of righteousness" to the glory of God.

4. Now it produced stingers, wild and bitter grapes, the reason: its acts of omission from the word of God.

5. That's how it happens today and easier.

6. (Jeremiah 4:19-31) The prophet is in agony and cries out like one who suffers a very sharp pain: My anguish, my anguish! My heartstrings ache.

7. Someone who is good, in such a bad world as this world, cannot live anything other than to be a "man" of sorrows.

8. "I will not be silent," for the sound of a trumpet thou hast heard, O abstention from doing or saying, depressed, feeble, ceased to do something necessary, my soul, cry (announcement or warning) of war.

9. The soul knows of the coming war "because it hears it and sees it by the Spirit," of prophecy that brings the words of God into the soul.

10. (20) Breakdown upon breaking, in quick succession (it was to happen), is "foretold."

11. Nebuchadnezzar lays siege to Jerusalem and seizes it, until he ruins Jerusalem.

12. The war continues, because the people were very stubborn and did not want to submit to the king of Babylon.

13. The people were very rebellious (21) and obstinate and did not want to submit to the king of Babylon.

14. The prophet knows this, and he says to them, "How long shall I see a flag, shall I hear the sound of a trumpet?"

15. As he said to them, "Will the sword devour forever?"

16. They did not want to humiliate themselves, they believed themselves to be powerful, reckless, arrogant, and all this because of the great pride that took hold of the people.

17. Until it is finally in chaos (23), what is to come, desolate and empty.

18. "And there was no light in them," the darkness that was on the surface of the deep. (Genesis 1:2)

19. Not only was the earth in chaos, but even the sky frowned upon them.

20. The calamity itself was like a dense, dark cloud, through which they were unable to contemplate their true calamitous situation (disgrace, disastrous).

21. "As in all the great judgments of God," nature is associated with extraordinary phenomena: mountains and hills trembled.

22. While the human population disappears, (25) birds.

23. (26) "The desolation (ruin, destruction, perdition) is complete."

24. (27) ... But I won't destroy it entirely.

25. This shows that God always reserves a remnant for Himself; Will you be there?

26. This is said for the comfort of those who tremble at the Word of God.

27. The prophet continues to prophesy destruction.

28. (28) For I have spoken, and thought about it, and have not repented, nor will I desist from it.

29. That He will not desist from His resolution to deliver them over to ruin, "since they cannot desist from their sin."

30. That's right, man on earth forgets all that is holy, and they think, they are deluded by the thought that they might find some way out of this quagmire, but the prophet tells them that “whatever they do is not going to avail them at all”.

31. (30) What are you doing, O devastated one? Though thou dress thyself in scarlet, though thou adorn thyself with robes of gold, and though thou paint thy eyes with antimony, thou hast adorned thyself in vain.

32. Now all the nations abandon Israel, it is in disgrace.

33. If you think like Jezebel, who thought it would beautify her face and could escape the calamity that awaited her, "but in vain."

34. "All effort is in vain." Amen
