Take care to do

"Take care to do" - Joshua 1:7 Handle. Be aware of your needs and provide what is necessary so that you are well or in a good state. Pay attention, diligence, take care to avoid any evil or danger. It is not pretending to take care of God's commands, it is to do, perform or execute an action, a task, a movement. Perform, carry out what you have to do.

I. God says to Joshua: Strive and be very courageous.

A. To care for (take care of) practice the law.

1. To practice the law its norm (established and agreed way of doing things).

2. God puts the book of the Law in Joshua's hands and commissions him (to take care of it).

3. Even if Joshua had ten souls, such a burden was enormous; yet he was to find time to meditate on the Law day and night.

4. He was not to allow it to depart from his mouth; that is, to give orders to the people in consonance (affinity, relationship of equality) with the Law of God.

5. It was not his business (obligation, charge to do something) to make new laws, "but he was to keep the good deposit (sound words which God gave to Moses).

6. He was always to do it according to the whole Law.

7. Although Joshua was a man of great power and authority, he was to "submit to the command."

8. (Matthew 19:16) What it says in the New Testament: What good shall I do to have eternal life?

9. He was convinced that in the other world, there was a "happy" eternity reserved for those who prepared in this world with an eye on that goal.

10. Remember that Christ's instructions always outweigh our intentions.

11. The Lamb deserves the same praise as the one sitting on the throne (Revelation 5:13) simply because He is as much God as the Father. (John 10:30).

12. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.

13. The young man spoke of eternal life.

14. Jesus simply says "life" to teach us that the only true life is eternal life.

15. It is necessary to keep God's commandments to enter eternal life, but we know that we need the faith we have known.

16. (1 John 5:3) His commandments are not burdensome, not that they are not difficult, but rather that they are precisely those things that "the born-again" enjoy doing.

17. The Lord's commandments are those things that are best for us and those things in which our nature delights from the heart.

18. Every command is heavy for the one who carries it on his shoulders, but it becomes light when it is carried in the heart, for love lends not only freedom to walk, but also lightness to run and joy to sing. (Psalm 119:32, 45, 59).

19. There is no human being with sufficient dignity or dominion to place him above the Law of God.

20. First, he has to do what "is" written.

21. Second, he must do it "in accordance" with what is written.

22. Third, he must do so in accordance with "everything" that is written without exception or reservation.

23. Fourth, he is to observe the judgment of his conscience, the gestures, signs, signs of Providence, and the opportunities of circumstance.

24. Fifth, he is not to depart from it, "the book of the Law," either in his personal conduct or in his acts of government, and he must bear in mind that virtue is in the middle, that is, far from extremes.

25. Sixth, he must be strong, courageous, and hardworking.

26. And seventh, that by doing so he will prosper in everything.

27. May he be encouraged by the promise and presence of God and be sheltered in them.

28. Joshua had long been noted for his courage, both in the war with Amalek and in his disagreement with the report of the wicked spies.

29. Joshua was humble, not distrustful of God, but of himself and his competence for the work; for this reason, God repeats to him so many times: "Strive and be courageous"; "See that I command you to strive and be brave."

30. I have commanded you what you are to do; therefore, according to the right reason, it will be done.

31. It would help us a lot to be cheered up and encouraged if we had our eyes fixed on the divine guarantee and listened to God saying to us: Have I not commanded you? Therefore, I will help you, accept you, prosper you, and reward you. (Reward a person for a merit or for a service rendered, reward).

II. Amalek Exodus 17:8

1. (V. 8) Joshua chooses men for war.

2. Joshua as Moses told him, fighting against Amalek.

3. When Moses lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.

4. Joshua undid Amalek and never gave Moses an opinion.

5. Commandments:

a. You shall have no other gods before Me.

b. You shall not make yourself an image, nor any likeness whatsoever of that which is above in heaven, nor below on earth, nor in the waters under the earth.

c. You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain.

d. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

e. Honor your father and mother.

f. Thou shalt not kill.

g. You shall not commit adultery.

h. Thou shalt not steal.

i. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

j. Thou shalt not covet.
