May You Heal Her Now - Numbers 12:7-15 The reason for the murmuring was not Moses' wife. It was a pretext. They resented Moses' leadership and wanted to have a part with him, they were jealous. Moses trusted in God, who was the one who called him. He was as "meek, more than all the men on earth." God makes it clear that although Mary was prophetess, the Lord clarifies the difference between His relationship with Moses and with the other prophets.

I. Jehovah was angry with them and went away (v.9).

A. As punishment for their rebellion.

1. Punishment of Mary contracted leprosy.

2. Aaron was not punished like Mary with leprosy.

3. Aaron's punishment was to watch "his sister" become a leper.

4. Perhaps, his position (high priest) saved him from the humiliation that Mary had to suffer.

5. (V.11) Aaron confessed his sin to Moses.

6. And pray that Mary did not be, she has already half consumed her flesh.

7. (12:4) Go out into the tabernacle of meeting.

8. Aaron and Mary have to face God.

9. (V.9) God was very upset.

10. Aaron (v. 11); for we have acted madly and sinned.

11. First humiliation and then confess.

12. Pride (excessive pride, anger, rage) is the reason for speaking, revealing oneself.

13. (Job 40:12) Look at all pride and humble it.

14. Such is the power of God with Aaron and Mary.

15. (Proverbs 29:23) Man’s pride overwhelms him (despicable, discouraged, to ruin).

16. (Isaiah 2:12) The day of Jehovah: The pride of men will be humbled and only Jehovah will be exalted on that day.

17. The pride for its excessive pride (disproportionate) is exceeded.

18. God of armies will judge all human arrogance of individuals, governments, military power, and commerce.

19. (Malachi 4:1) The day is coming, burning as a furnace in which "all the proud" and wicked will be destroyed, from the "root" to the branch.

20. What did Moses do?

21. He cried out to the Lord, saying, O God, please heal her now! (V.13)

22. It is the prayer of a saint to the God who is Holy, Holy, Holy.

23. (Joshua 7:20) Someone had disobeyed the Lord, stealing in the conquest of Jericho.

24. First the tribe, the family, then the house and then the male Achan.

25. He confessed to stealing and had it under his shop.

26. For I saw, coveted, and took (V.21).

27. He coveted (desire that can never be satisfied).

28. Then, when the passion has conceived, sin gives birth; and when sin is consummated, it begets death. (James 1:14-15)

29. He led the whole family to his punishment; he brought his family to their evil.

30. (2 Samuel 12:13) His home would bring mourning to his family and be upset by conflict.

31. His sin would be common knowledge.

32. Then David came to the point of repentance and confessed his sin as sin "against Jehovah."

33. Man turns his back on his own sin when in "sincerity he confesses it."

34. This makes it possible for God to turn His back on that sin as well.

35. "Ye shall not die" the penalty of his sin had been forgiven.

36. (Mark 1:5) They were baptized by him (John) in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

37. John baptized by preaching the baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

38. (Luke 5:8) Like Peter we must see the King in His beauty.

39. There is Peter in the boat watching Jesus overflow the boat in fish that they could not.

40. Both boats were sinking.

41. Fear seized him: Depart from me, Lord, for I am a "sinful man."

42. He confessed that he was a sinner.

43. God does. Amen.
