The Contrast Between the Whole and the Crooked- Leviticus 18:25-30 In Leviticus they give the list of abominable acts (rejection and energetic condemnation of something that causes repulsion and condemnation) perversities and the like. The sinner must know that he condemns himself in his own abomination. All sin pollutes the conscience, but these sins share a peculiar impurity. People who do so will be cut off from among His people (Leviticus 18:29). The lusts of the flesh battle against the soul and will certainly lead it to ruin (the soul), unless prevented by the grace and mercy of God and if it is decided to live at the feet of Jesus in repentance. For these and similar sins, the Canaanites were to be destroyed.

I. What a weight, agony, and sorrow that distances us from God!

A. It is not how we defend or justify ourselves; it is what will lead the soul to the ruin of death.

1. A great and mighty sacrifice was made for our soul, the death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. He who wants to be bad, depraved walks in perversity of mouth; Wink, talk with your feet, sign your fingers.

3. You know! Perversities are in his heart; Go around thinking evil "at all times."

4. That person brings discord (disagreement, quarrel, strife).

5. We must know this: God abominates them.

6. The calamity will come to him suddenly, so he will not be able to avoid it. His brokenness will be "hopeless" because he does not want to repent.

7. In God there is no evil; For this reason, He can never accept sin or dirt.

8. He is holy, holy, holy, three times.

9. The sin you have is harmful to your neighbor and that is the shameful thing, that sin of another comes to harm your life and yours.

10. (A.) Haughty eyes are the ones who overvalue themselves and undervalue everyone else. After a haughty look, there is nothing so unpleasant before Jehovah's eyes as a lying tongue. Nothing so sacred as truth, nothing so necessary for relationship life as telling the truth. The wicked heart that hatches its wicked thoughts (unjust, evil, unjust).

11. "The greater and more cunning are the arts" employed to do evil, the more abominable is to God the sin that is committed.

12. Haste and determination to run to evil (Leviticus 18:18b); the haste and skill that the bad ones give themselves for evil would shame us, how indolent (unwillingness to do one thing) we are in doing good.

13. The one who makes discord.

14. (Proverbs 11:20) We must know what God dislikes and loves, in order to conduct ourselves accordingly.

15. Since God is infinite holiness, He must necessarily love the one with the blameless path, while the wicked of heart are abominable to Him (deeply displeased, detestable).

16. The contrast between the whole and the crooked.

17. (Proverbs 12:22) That God delights in truthfulness, in sincerity, while abominating lies.

18. Lying is not only something abominable (detestable, abhorrent) to God, but also a destructive element of society.

19. (Proverbs 21:27) The sacrifices were of divine institution, we repeat them, and when offered with due interior dispositions, they were pleasing to God.

20. But they were abomination to Him (rejection and vigorous condemnation of something that causes repulsion) when they were offered by "wicked," who "did not reform their ungodly conduct."

21. If this was already an abomination, how much more so by offering it with bad intent!

22. This evil intention could be to go ahead with their evil plans and use sacrifice to impress others "with their false devotion" and thus gain their trust to practice deception and fraud more easily. (Isaiah 66:3-5).

23. (Proverbs 28:9) If you don't want to hear and obey God's law, God won't "hear your prayer" either.

24. In reality, such prayers are an abomination to God.

25. God speaks to us through His law and expects us to hear it and pay attention to it.

26. We speak to Him through prayer and expect Him to hear us and respond favorably, but we cannot expect Him to hear us if we do not listen to Him.

27. We must escape and leave the spoiled and very badly bred children.

28. You have nothing in your hands, and you can lose such a great salvation.
