Father Who Disciplines - Hebrews 12:7-11 Everything we live in the end (consummation of something, at the end, "after all") is for our God to teach and educate us. Although many things do not come from God, He allows them and then returns them for His glory, for our good, and for the blessing of others. Nothing can come upon the Christian by luck (chance). Great sorrows are blessings in disguise and the adverse circumstances of life to conform (form, model, adjust, resign) to the image of Christ.

I. The one the Lord loves, discipline.

A. Whipping is instruction or education of the child. (Proverbs 3:11-12)

1. God addresses them as children (the ancients), warns them against belittling discipline to lose value under His rebuke.

2. When we rebel or abandon ourselves, we lose the benefit of His dealings with them and fail to learn the lessons He wants to teach us.

3. First the discipline and then the teachings of how we should change, but that's the hard part; did you pass the discipline, but have you had the change? If it is a "no" it is "that you did not want what is the discipline that really is the difficult.

4. (7) Let's see if God is our Father.

5. Because it may be that you do not accept Him as a Father.

6. Everyone says that God is God, but He is in the third heaven far from the earth and then you can walk to our thinking, wide (all freedom, very comfortable, with comfort).

7. By keeping you submissive to God's discipline, we allow His discipline to "mold us into His image."

8. If we try to impede the progress of the process of His dealings with us, He may have to "teach us over a longer period of time, using more instructive methods and for them more difficult.

9. There are grades in God's school and promotions only come when we have learned our lessons.

10. So when trials come upon us, we should realize that God is treating us as "children."

11. In any normal parent-child relationship, the parent instructs his child because he loves him and because he wants the best for him.

12. I don't know if you understand: God loves us too much to let us "develop" naturally.

13. You believe that the disorders of your flesh, your Father will allow them, to reach Him at the discipline of God.

14. (8) In the spiritual realm (area) those who do not experience God's discipline are bastards (not children), not true children.

15. Just think, How much do you let yourself be guided by the Father?

16. After all, the gardener does not prune the thorns, but the vines.

17. As in the natural, so is the spiritual.

18. (9) Most of us have experienced the discipline of our "earthly parents."

19. We realized that they were interested in our good and we respected them.

20. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live?

21. God is the Father (origin) of all beings who are spirits or who have spirit.

22. Man is a spirit dwelling in a human body.

23. By submitting to God, we enjoy life in its truest sense.

24. (10) The discipline of earthly parents is not perfect.

25. It lasts only for a while, that is, during childhood and youth.

26. If you haven't been successful by then, you can't do more.

27. And it is as it seemed to them, according to each one thought it was the best.

28. Sometimes it may not be the best. But God's discipline is always perfect.

29. His love is infinite, and His wisdom is infallible. His discipline is never the result of whim but is always for our benefit.

30. His goal "is that we partake of His holiness", in Him there is nothing of flesh. God is spirit, and therefore we must know that the carnal separates us from God. For this reason, the discipline is so that we are never cut like the vine, the thorns are no longer in Him.

31. And holiness can never be produced outside of God's school.

32. Discipline is for us to partake of His holiness.

33. Let us participate: it has a direction, and the direction goes towards a purified and beautiful life.

34. God is always creating, even when He uses the darkest means of grace.

35. (11) At the moment, all discipline seems painful.

36. But then it bears peaceful fruit (quiet, it is free from brusqueness and violence) of justice to those who have been exercised through it.

37. What one learns in darkness he possesses forever.

38. The afflictions that you imagine stand between you and God will prove to be the means of unity with Him, "if you endure them with humility."

39. Those things that overwhelm us and disturb our pride do us better than everything that excites and stimulates us.

40. (H. Spurgeon):I fear that all the grace I have drawn from my times of comfort and slack (sufficient) and happiness could almost fit on a coin. But the good I have received for my pains, sorrows, and afflictions is truly incalculable. How much I do not owe to the hammer and the anvil (where you work with a hammer), to the fire and to the file!

41. Discipline: set of rules of conduct to maintain order and subordination (dependence of one person or one thing on another or others, by which it is governed or to which it is subjected) among the members of a body or a collectivity in a given collectivity.

a. It is the ability to strive "permanently" and "systematically" to maintain a line of conduct and achieve a "purpose" or set of purposes. Self-discipline relates to one's self-image, self-confidence, and the ability to self-control.

b. Systematic adapts to a system: an orderly or structured set (organized and formally can be easily searched) planning.
