"Spiritual Trials" - Exodus 15:22-27 On the journey from the Red Sea to Mount Sinai, every step is filled with spiritual lessons for believers of all ages. Marah, which means "bitterness"; for example, it tells us about the bitter experiences of life. The tree suggests the cross of Calvary, which transforms the bitterness of this life into sweetness.

I. They leave the Red Sea in triumph, joy, dance, and songs.

A. They went out into the Shur desert, without water.

1. They reached Marah and could not drink the waters.

2. They went three days without tasting the water.

3. The people became angry; How angry do you get on the test?

4. Anger leads to the complaint: What are we to drink?

5. They rebel against Moses.

6. Moses is not to blame for this evil.

7. What can Moses do? just bring everything to God and the solution is brought by God, which the people should have also prayed to God.

8. God is the leader's guide and so God lets Moses see the need for water, for a people who were thirsty.

9. God led Moses to a tree, which he threw into the water; so suddenly, the bitter waters of Marah "turned sweet."

10. From a tree they drew the cross of Christ, which sweetens the bitterness of affliction and enables us to rejoice in tribulations.

11. Our spiritual trials; compare those in the Bible to yours: "Great sacrifices."

a. (Genesis 22:1) It came to pass that after these things, God tested Abraham and said to him, Abraham. And he answered, Here I am. Genesis 22:2 And he said, Take now your son, your only Isaac, "whom you love" and go to the land of Moriah and offer him there in a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I will tell you.

b. As you lead men down a difficult path: And you will remember the whole way where Jehovah your God has brought you these forty years in the wilderness to afflict and test you, "to know what was in your heart," whether or not you were to keep his commandments (Deuteronomy 8:2).

c. In proposing difficult tasks: John 6:5-6; When Jesus raised His eyes and saw that the great multitude had come to Him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for them to eat?" (V.6). But this He said to prove him; because He knew what He was to do.

d. By allowing men to suffer when they are faithful (Paul and Silas) (Acts 16:23, 24). After they had been flogged a lot, they were thrown into jail, sending the jailer to guard them safely; (V.24) and he, having received this command, put them in the dungeon further in and secured their feet in the trap.

e. As you allow temptation (James 1:2-3) My brethren, have the greatest joy when you are in various trials, knowing that the test of your faith produces patience.

12. Trials - an attempt is made to prove that "something" is in a certain way and not in another; you know the qualities, verify its effectiveness, know how it works or reacts, or what the result produces.

13. Proof is a fact or evidence, a reason or argument, used to prove the truth or falsity of something or an action.

14. Trials help us for good (Romans 8:28).

15. Let us be transformed more and more into the image of His Son (Romans 8:29).

16. That process of sanctification, being set apart for God's purposes and equipped to live for His glory.

17. The proofs are going to say what is true or what is false in us.

18. When you go to the laboratory for some symptoms in the body, you think: what is this? but the test in the laboratory verifies exactly what it is; the tests on our person speak what is true or false in you, not what you say, but the day of the test gives your results as it is.

19. The test shows what you are. Then God gives you statutes and ordinances, there He proved them as He has done with you, you fulfill the statutes and ordinances, you let it be seen what is true in you or what is false in you.

20. The statutes and ordinances, to ensure that, if they obeyed His commandments, "God would deliver them from all evil, in the same way that He had sweetened the water and 'there He tested them' because God tests us, not only through afflictions” but also through the favors He bestows upon us," "since every favor share responsibility."

21. What God expects of the one who calls (Exodus15:26) and which can be summed up in one word: Obedience.

22. The people were not to think, now that they had been freed from the slavery of Egypt, that they were masters of themselves, but that they should consider themselves as servants of God, since He had let go of their ligatures.

23. Why do you own yourself?

24. Are you a servant of God? you owe yourself to Him.

25. What is to be expected of God: "No disease of which I sent the Egyptians I will send you," that is, "I will not bring upon you any of the plagues!"

26. Let us not be able, as God wanted the people of Israel to understand, that the Israelites do not think "that God is going to make Himself (long) blind with their sins and let them do what they want."

27. God has no preference for persons; a rebellious Israelite is not going to have a better time than a rebellious Egyptian; and so, they proved it, to their evil, before they reached Canaan.

28. There was water, twelve water sources for each tribe.
