"Sufficient grace for every time of need" Matthew 11:25-30 Jesus was being rejected by His own, but nothing stopped Him. The wise rejected Him, while the simple people accepted Him. Jesus could not be loved with an intellectual attitude. Plummer: The heart, not the head, is the home of the Gospel. It is not intelligence that closes the door, but pride. "Nothing" could thwart His sovereign purposes.

I. The difficult thing about the human being is to submit to Him.

A. God's plans will not fail.

1. If the intellectuality does not believe, then God will reveal His Son to humble hearts.

2. (V. 27) All things had been given to Him by His Father. These words in the mouth of the Lord Jesus are a simple statement of truth.

3. At that time and in the face of growing opposition, He did not seem to be in control; "however, it was."

4. The program of His life was moving invisibly toward an eventual triumph full of glory.

5. No one knows the Son perfectly, but the Father; Only the Father can truly understand what His Son's life was at that time.

6. "And no one knows the Father perfectly, but the Son; God is great enough to understand God.

7. The Lord Jesus can and does reveal to the Father those Whom He wills.

8. (John 14:7) Everyone who comes to know the Son also comes to know the Father.

9. In our finite minds we cannot fully appreciate the greatness of God.

10. For this reason, the Lord Jesus makes a universal invitation to all the weary and burdened to come to Him to find rest.

11. Those to whom He chooses to reveal the Father are those who trust in Him as the Lord and Savior.

12. Jesus is rejected by the favored citizens of Galilee.

13. Human hatred and stubbornness could not quench His love and grace.

14. Jesus now opens wide the door of personal salvation in the face of the rejection of those He had come.

15. (V. 28) Come, come, if you come believe. To me."

16. The object of faith is not a church, nor a creed, nor a pastor, but the living Christ.

17. Salvation is in one Person.

18. Those who have Jesus are as saved as God can save them.

19. "All of you who are fatigued and burdened."

20. The way you go to Jesus is that a person has to admit that he is burdened with the weight of sin.

21. Only when it is recognized "that one is lost can they be saved."

22. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is preceded by repentance toward God.

23. "And I will make you rest."

24. Let us observe that rest here is a gift; it is undeserved, free.

25. It is the rest of salvation that comes from becoming aware that Christ accomplished the work of redemption on the cross of Calvary.

26. It is the "rest of conscience" that follows as one realizes that the penalty for one's own sins has been satisfied once and for all and that God will not demand payment again.

27. (V. 29, 30) The invitation changes from salvation to service.

28. "Take my yoke upon you."

29. It involves submitting to His will, giving Him control of life (Romans 12:1-2); presenting your bodies in living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God; not conforming to this century be transformed through the renewal of understanding, so that you may recognize, check, confirm whatever God's good will, pleasing and perfect. Have you ever done so?

30. And learn from me; By acknowledging His lordship over all areas of our lives, He instructs us in His ways, if it is true that you have your body in sacrifice alive.

31. "That I am meek and humble of heart; In contrast to the Pharisees, who were tough and proud, the true "Master is gentle and humble."

32. Beware of being a Pharisee; "All who bear His yoke will learn to take up the humblest position" and I assure you that this is not the most that is seen.

33. "And ye shall find rest for your souls."

34. The rest of the heart is found in taking the humblest place before God and man.

35. It is also the rest one experiences in the service of Christ when one "stops trying to be great."

36. Because my yoke is comfortable and my load light.

37. It is not a yoke that the Pharisees imposed on the religious of that time; (Matthew 23:4) that they themselves did not even want to move it with a finger.

38. The yoke of Jesus is easy; does not cause chafing. Its load is light.

39. Not as men on earth want to put it on us.

40. In the problems, trials, or pains in the Christian life it is what He allows us to do.

41. Let's not talk about coping with them alone.

42. We are married (bound) with One who gives enough grace for every time of need.

43. Serving Him is not slavery, but perfect freedom. J.H. Jowett says: The fatal mistake for the believer is to try to carry the burden of life in a single necklace. God never intended for man to carry his burden alone. Therefore, Christ only deals in yokes! A yoke is a two-necked herd and the Lord Himself asks to be "One" of the two. I want to share the work of any bitter task. "The secret of peace" and victory in the Christian life lies in taking off the exhausted necklace of the "I" and accepting the relaxing "yoke of the Master." Amen.
