God Almighty

"God Almighty" (Genesis 14:17-24) Melchizedek, king and priest of Salem (In Hebrew peace). It is the place cared for by God. It is there that David establishes his kingdom, the capital. From then on it acquired a relevance that could not be destroyed by any invader of the earth. It was very old and had belonged to different and forgotten communities before David. Its name was never Palestine.

I. When Abram returned home, the king of Sodom came out.

A. He received Abram, the king of Sodom.

1. It was the devil's way of wanting to tempt Abram, after a great victory.

2. Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of the Almighty God, intervened with bread and

wine to strengthen Abram.

passion. When we consider the price he paid to redeem us from sin, we are strengthened to resist every temptation of sin. It was like that food that is ingested to recover energy and momentarily satisfy the appetite, it was what Abram needed for the road. It was for Abram and his soldiers and as a congratulation on their victory. He did this as a king. (V. 19) As a priest of the Almighty God, he blessed Abram, which we can understand would be for Abram a refuge (softening all that war to save Lot) greater than bread and wine. He blessed Abram from God: Blessed be Abram of the Highest God, creator of the heavens and the earth! He was the Owner, the Just Owner, and Sovereign Lord of all creatures, for being the Creator and Maker of all of them. He blessed God on behalf of Abram: "And blessed be the Highest God." That he delivered your enemies into your hand. And Abram gave him the tithes of everything. Melchizedek "blessed" Abram and Abram gave him the tithe of all the riches taken. Jesus, our great Melchizedek, deserves our homage and that each and every one of us recognizes him as our King and Priest; and not only the tithe of everything, but everything we possess we must put at His feet and offer it. As a promised offering and dedicated to the Highest God and therefore, placed in the hands of Melchizedek, his priest. When we understand that from God we receive some marked favor, it is very much at its point that we express our gratitude with some act of giving to God who is the Greatest. What God has prospered on is a convenient portion to set aside for God's honor. (V.21) The king of Sodom said, "Give me the people and take for yourself the goods." It is the voice of the devil; that was to say: deal with the games of dust while people around perish.

dust toys while yours perish. (Hebrew) Give me the soul and take for yourself the substance. (main component of bodies, most importantly essential part). Here he finally begs him to grant him the people, while freely offering Abram the goods. Abram was not the same as him, nor the whole world. Abram refused such a request. Not only did he give him the people, but he returned all the goods to him as well. He doesn't want to stay even from a thread to the shoe strap. I have raised my hand to Jehovah God Almighty, creator of the heavens and the earth who, from a thread to a shoe strap, I will take nothing of all that is yours... lest you say: I enriched Abram. He pact with God because God had covenanted with Abram. It would be a reproach (opprobrium, insult): to the promise and covenant of God; to Abram’s piety and charity. Be careful not to do anything that looks ruinous and mercenary, or that smacks of greed and selfishness. Beware! That you do everything in exchange for money. Beware of your actions, they say what is inside.

In the entertainment business it is said that you should never work with children, any reason? They are easily distracted.
