The Upright Enters the Ark

"The Upright Enters the Ark" (Genesis 7:1-10) Heaven and earth will pass, but my words will not pass. (Luke 21:33). With good will God invites Noah and his family to enter a place of safety. A very kind call is from a tender Father to his children. Come to the ark, implying that He would go with him, guide him inward, accompany him on it, and bring him out of it safely in due course. This is what made Noah's ark, which was a prison (no one wanted to enter for that reason), was for him not only a refuge but a palace.

I. The only reason, for such an invitation, is a very honorable testimony of Noah's integrity (not attained by whole evil).

A. (2 Timothy 2:19) The Lord knows those who are His.

1. God takes good note and pleases in those who are righteous before Him.

2. Brethren, God is a witness of the integrity (whole, not touched by evil) of His own, soon, when necessary, He will be a witness (He is present in an act, to testify of what happened on their behalf).

3. God especially pleases of those who are good in difficult times and bad places.

4. To those who remain pure in times of common iniquity, as is lived today, God will keep them safe in times of common (all people) calamity. (Misfortune, lost).

5. (V.2-3) Noah received orders about the animals to be preserved, since they lived with Noah on the ark.

6. Noah is left in charge of taking care of them; in the ark they were not trained for the food of the ark, as when they were in their habitat.

7. They are in charge of taking care of them, in the face of such great danger that is approaching.

8. (V. 4) After seven days: I will rain.

9. In those seven days they (men) were not despised either, as all the previous time; they liked their false security and "their pleasures" until the very day the flood came.

10. (V.7) Noah entered the ark, knowing that the flood would begin seven days later, although there was still no visible sign of its imminence.

11. He entered by faith, as if that is how he built it.

12. "He took his whole family with him."

13. Because, for them, not only their family, but "a whole new world", could be rebuilt.

14. The animals entered submissively with him, in front was the Creator of each of them.

II. Faithful are all His commandments (Psalm 111:7).

A. The psalmist glorifies God for the stability of His Word and His works.

1. God will be the one who will carry out in the future.

2. What God has done will never be undone by itself, nor will men or demons undo it.

3. For God rests on truth and justice, not injustice, because He is Just and True.

4. What God has said, He will never dismiss (deny, refute).

5. Truth and good are the foundations on which God's omnipotence acts.

6. (Ezekiel 12:25) The rebellious people had a saying: "The days are getting longer, and it seems (that is), not all prophetic vision is fulfilled.

a. They have the coming of the Lord (2 Peter 3:9).

b. They said, or meant the destruction does not come, against the prediction of the prophets.

c. Same with the coming of the Lord; you sin because you say in your heart: they do nothing but scare us; so, we shouldn't listen to them.

d. The time we think it is for later, we must take everything as for today, when God speaks is from that moment, for the preparation of what His voice said, since we must prepare, because if it is from one moment to the next it would not give us time to prepare the ark, and the seven days to fill the ark for the difficulty of life.

7. (Matthew 5:18) Jesus also affirms the unbreakability of the Law.

a. The Lord's care for the Law extends to the smallest details of Scripture, such as a tiny accent.

b. All Scripture is inspired by God; therefore, His books are "called sacred" (2 Timothy 3:15-6); "from childhood" you have known the Holy Scriptures, which (make you) wise for salvation by faith that is in Christ Jesus.

c. Educate your children in the scriptures to be like Timothy.

d. The reason: All Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproofing, for correcting, for instructing in righteousness.

8. (Luke 21:33) Heaven and earth will pass, but my words will not pass.

a. Jesus instructs His disciples to keep these things safe and close: sure because "heaven and earth will pass away (Revelation 21:1) but my words will in no way pass.

b. Let your children know that the Word that is near, as close as before their eyes, will not pass away.

c. The world and everything you have that is so far from your eyes will pass, and as long as you love the world so much and what you have is perhaps far from your reach and does not make it whole and you will not be able to enter the ark. Amen.
