Gather With Him

SERMON # 1115 CHURCH IN THE HOUSES DATE: JULY 29, 2020

TOPIC: "Gather With Him" Matthew 12:30 This holy war that Christ carries out against the devil and his kingdom of darkness is of such a nature that it does not admit what is neutral, that is why the Lord says: "He who is not with me is against me." Even the small differences in points of view between the disciples of Christ, such as behavior in the ordinary things, have to be worked out in peace, in love and in understanding, we must gather, not scatter!

I. The Pharisees had accused Jesus of delivering and healing the blind and mute demonized with the help of Satan.

A. They did not know of the great fight, without a barrack, between Christ and Satan.

1. In this struggle of two totally different kingdoms there is no room for peace. NOR IS THERE A NEUTRAL POSITION!

2. He who is not with Christ from the heart will be considered as an enemy of the cause of Christ, he is against Christ!

3. Christ and Satan dispute our lives to possess us; Christ seeking us FOR SALVATION, and Satan doing the same, but FOR PERDITION.

4. In Jesus we are on the happy side!

5. But, let it be clear that Jesus tells us: "...he who does not gather with me scatters."

6. Jesus came to earth to “gather his harvest”, to look for the children of God who were dispersed.

7. Christ expects and demands from those who are with Him to be occupied in gathering with Him!

8. Remember, if we do not gather with Christ, then we are scattering.

9. (Mark 9:40) "For whoever is not against us is for us."

10. Service is necessary in the kingdom of Christ.

11. Partners in the faith of Christ must dedicate themselves to service.

12. In the book of Matthew, we see that the Pharisees question whether Christ was the Son of God or was merely a demoniac, someone possessed by Satan.

13. And on such a fundamental issue Christ makes it clear that anyone who is not with Him is working against Him.

14. On the other hand, Mark 9:40 is not about the Person or the work of Christ, but about the issue that companions dedicate themselves to the service of Christ and those who are not companions do the opposite.

15. The Lord instructs us that we should show tolerance and love towards those who serve the Lord!

16. You are either walking in favor on the road or getting in the way!

17. If it is about the Person and work of Christ, THERE CAN BE NO NEUTRALITY.

18. WHO IS NOT FOR CHRIST IS AGAINST HIM! (Luke 11:23)

19. When it comes to Christian service, those who are not against the servants of Christ ARE FOR THEM!

20. In the first case it is the question of salvation; in the second it is about service.

21. (Luke 16:13) “No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. "

22. If we are dominated by money, we cannot really serve the Lord. Well, in order to accumulate money, we are to put our best efforts into that task.

23. In the very act of undertaking this we are already robbing God of what is rightfully His.

24. It is the question of A DIVISION OF LOYALTIES!

25. OF MOTIVES THAT ARE DIVIDED!

26. Then, the decisions are no longer impartial!

27. Where our treasure is, there our heart will be!

28. In the effort to seek riches, we will serve "riches"!

29. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TOTALLY SERVE GOD AND AT THE SAME TIME THE RICHES!

30. Wealth demands from us everything we have and everything we are, they demand from us our evenings, our weekends, etc. At the end, they demand of us the time that we should be giving to the Lord.

31. You either serve God or wealth!

32. (James 1:8) "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways." He who is double minded lacks a strong will.

33. The double-minded is like the wave of the sea, which rises to great heights to fall again!

34. God is not honored by a kind of faith that alternates between optimism and pessimism!

35. Either we collect or we scatter!

36. (James 4:8) "...and you double-minded, purify your hearts."

37. Our heart represents our motives and desires. We cannot stand firm with divided motives!

38. Then, we resolve that our hearts must be completely purified, and we remove all external and internal sin!

39. He who is double minded must confess his mixed motives and should immediately turn away from what led him to scatter into the kingdom of Christ!

40. Either we gather with Jesus or we scatter! Let us be of a single and clear motive, to serve the best Lord. Let's gather with Him! Amen.
