To Hear That My Children Walk In Truth

STUDY: # 1097 CHURCH IN THE HOUSES DATE: MAY 31, 2020

TOPIC: "To Hear That My Children Walk In Truth" 3 John 1:4 This was so important to John that he would say: I have no greater joy than this, hearing that MY CHILDREN WALK IN THE TRUTH! Most of the time, when there is an ambition to be a good preacher, people think that winning souls is the greatest joy of a Christian’s life. And yes, it is beautiful to see men and women believe; and be transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of the Son of God; the kingdom of His love. But there is also the following, who can measure THE PAIN OF SEEING THOSE WHO HAD PROFESSED SALVATION, GO BACK TO THEIR OLD LIFE; like the sow that has been washed and returns to wallow in the mire, or the dog when it returns to its vomit?” (2 Peter 2:21,22) On the other hand, How exciting is it to SEE SPIRITUAL CHILDREN PERSEVERE IN THE LORD, FROM GRACE TO GRACE!

I. (Psalm 126:6) "HE WHO goes out weeping, bearing the seed..."

A. The return is "... with shouts of joy!"

1. "... the one who..." applies to one in particular; to someone who is A FARMER, one who sows.

2. “… the one who…” is the one who sows and wakes up, leaving his bed to go out into the fresh air and go through the furrows where the seed is sown. And when he leaves, he cries because of past failures in his sowing. Because the soil was so poor, or the weather has been unpleasant (awful, rough), or his wheat has been scarce, and the enemies abundant and eager to steal his reward!

3. The farmer drops a seed and a tear, a seed and a tear, and so on; as he goes down the furrow!

4. In the basket he has seed that is precious to him, because he has little of it, and in it lies all “his hope” for the coming year!

5. Each grain comes out of his hand accompanied by a prayer so that it is not lost! He does not think of himself, but in the seed! And he asks himself: “Will it prosper? Will I receive the fruit of my labor?”

6. YES, GOOD FARMER, YOU WILL “UNDOUBTEDLY” COLLECT SHEAVES FROM YOUR SEED!

7. Because it has been the Lord who has originally written that word in the Bible: “undoubtedly!” So, look and don't doubt!

8. “Crying should not impede our sowing; when we suffer evil, we must do good.” Matthew Henry quote.

9. The verse says, "... the precious seed ..."

10. The seed of wheat IS always VALUABLE. And when wheat in general is expensive, the seed is even more expensive. Nevertheless, even if it is very valuable, the farmer should have it and “get rid of” it, “depriving himself” of using it for his “stomach” and for that of his wife and children. Instead, HE WILL SOW IT, WALKING AND CRYING!

11. There is also a great risk; because wheat, once sown, is subject to many dangers!

12. AND SO IT HAPPENS WITH THE CHILDREN OF GOD IN A GOOD CAUSE.

13. All in all, we should decide to risk the dangers in life, as well as our lands, assets, everything we have in this world! It is better that we risk all of these before putting our religion and our souls at risk!

B. 1 Thessalonians 2:19,20 To the apostle Paul, these brothers of Thessalonica were his sons in the Lord. He had brought them to Christ and felt responsible for their spiritual growth. He knew that he was to account for them in the day to come. They were his hope of reward at Christ’s Judgment Seat! He wanted to be able to rejoice in them! They would be his crown of rejoice before our Jesus Christ in His coming! Paul was going to recognize the Thessalonians in heaven! I WILL RECOGNIZE YOU! They were his glory and joy! Paul had invested in human personality and his reward was them, his spiritual sons and daughters who would worship the Lamb of God for all eternity! THAT IS MY STRUGGLE ON EARTH: THAT JUST AS PAUL DID WITH THE BROTHERS FROM THESSALONICA, YOU ALSO REACH ETERNITY, SO THAT YOU CAN BE IN THAT PROMISED ETERNITY BEFORE GOD, NOT IN AN ETERNAL TORTURE IN HELL! Amen.
