The Meek Live Under Perfect Control

TOPIC: "The Meek Live Under Perfect Control" Numbers 12:3; Matthew 11:29 There are two men in the history of humanity who came to establish the greatest event that has happened on earth: MOSES for THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD and JESUS for the REDEMPTION OF MAN. With the commandments, Moses brought the Law of God to the people and thus they feared God, and Jesus gave Himself to deliver man from sin. The greatest have been these two men, each one out of love for the people. As of Moses it came with much good on God’s behalf for the Jewish nation, although it spread to the world. And our Jesus, Emmanuel, God who came as a man, gave his life. It was no longer the voice of God to men through prophets, now it was God Himself incarnated giving himself for humanity!

I. Moses, says the Bible, was very meek (Numbers 12:3)

A. Very = is an attribute that indicates a high degree of the property that is expressed, in this case: MEEK.

1. The word "very" intensifies that quality. This is the virtue that Moses had in his life, he was very meek!

2. Let's not think that he was the most powerful leader on earth, but think that he was VERY MEEK!

3. What is being meek?

a. The word "meek" comes from the Greek, praus = correctly tempered, WHICH SHOWS THE CORRECT MIXTURE OF "FORCE" AND "SWEETNESS".

b. Avoid unnecessary harshness, but without compromising or being too slow to use the necessary force.

c. Represents a person with power, WHO KNOWS WHEN TO USE IT AND WHEN NOT!

d. This word "meek" does not describe a person who is weak or is a coward.

e. It describes someone who is SOFT! And not soft in the sense that we imagine.

f. The word "meek or soft" is also used to describe war horses that have been trained for battle. (For being MEEK, our Lord Jesus in a war with the evil one, was able to deliver man from sin!)

g. Horses become meek, soft, and moderate in respect to their trainers, but in battle they behave vigorously and fearlessly on enemy lines!

h. To better understand what "MEEK" is, let's look at Job 39:19, 21-25. Here the horse is described!

1. The snort from his nose is formidable (instills fear and amazement, great, magnificent)

2. He digs the earth, rejoices in his strength, goes out to meet arms

3. He mocks fright and does not fear. Does not turn his face before the sword!

4. Against him the quivers sound (where the arrows are kept), the iron of the spear and the javelin.

5. And with momentum and fury, in the heat of battle, he digs the earth without caring about the sound of the trumpet.

6. Before, like he says among the bugles: Ea! And from afar smells the battle, the shout of the captains and the screaming.

7. Horses go with their riders to war to help conquer for the people who need help or they perish.

i. A meek man is one who is powerful and is armed with a sword, he is trained to use it when necessary, but also knows when to keep the sword in its sheath when it is not necessary.

j. BE MEEK! Do you know if you have loved being MEEK or not? It is a virtue that comes only from God!

k. It is when you allow your flesh to be dominated by God, in the sense that God is the one who gives you that virtue, a virtue that only He can give you!

l. If you are the believer that God wants you to be, A MEEK BELIEVER, then you can correct many INIQUITIES like the horse that takes the position taught for war and delivers the oppressed people, WHAT DO YOU DO IN LIFE?

m. May God make us humble, masters of ourselves! Well, only then can we be servants of our fellow men!

B. Moses brought the people out of Egypt to be the Israel of today.

1. He was humble (Numbers 12:3), and his brothers, Mary and Aaron said: Has Jehovah only spoken by Moses? Has he not also spoken thru us? And Jehovah heard it!

2. To them in vision, in dreams I will speak, God said.

3. Not so to my servant Moses, WHO IS FAITHFUL IN ALL MY HOUSE!

4. Moses was dominated by God because he had the virtue of being meek, for every act of defense of the people.

5. (Exodus 32:19) Moses' anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mount.

6. (Exodus 2:16-17) Moses got up and defended the women.

7. These are some examples of behavior that show the quality of this VERY MEEK man!

C. Our Savior Jesus ("Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am GENTLE and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls...").

1. TOTALLY MEEK! Moses was very meek, but Jesus was PERFECT!

2. Holy, Holy, Holy! No one equals Him! 3.(Matthew 11:29) "...learn from me, for I am meek..."

4. (Matthew 21:12) He overturned the tables and said: My house, house of prayer…” There he began with the healings.

5. (Matthew 23:13) He called the Pharisees hypocrites!

6. (Luke 22:36) He said: "...and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one..." For their defense.

7. (Matthew 26:51, 52) And here, it was no longer time for a defense with the sword.

8. These examples show us the Lord Jesus just how it is to be GENTLE, MEEK! Just like what we learned about the horse, which is an animal that has been tamed, prepared for war!

9. The meek one is like a horse that was once savage, but is now obedient to the bit.

10. Docile, but behind that docility is the strength of steel! Such is our Savior! Amen.
