Surely They Are My People, Children Who Will Not Deal Falsely

STUDY: # 1068 CHURCH IN THE HOUSES FROM: FEBRUARY 28 @ 3, 2020

TOPIC: “Surely They Are My People, Children Who Will Not Deal Falsely. And He Became Their Savior.” Isaiah 63:8-9 God accompanied the people of Israel throughout all their trials. He was a loyal companion even during the anguish they endured in Egypt. God trusted them and saved them from the very beginning. The Lord expected them to be loyal to Him! THE ANGEL OF THE FACE OF GOD saved them; He was Jehovah’s angel (Exodus 23:20-25). He was the angel of the covenant (Malachi 3:16), that is, the pre-incarnated Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who may well be called THE ANGEL OF THE FACE OF JEHOVAH! The angel is called that, not only because it is the faithful representation of its real being, but also because it is the manifestation, in flesh, of the invisible God (John 14:9; 1 Timothy 3:16, 1 John 4:2).

I. God said: “… surely they are my people, CHILDREN WHO WILL NOT DEAL FALSELY…” (Isaiah 63:8)

A. God will be present in all their afflictions. The Scriptures say that He was also afflicted by the anguish of His people. (Vs.9 "In all their affliction He was afflicted...")

1. In other words, God Himself participates in the sufferings of His people!

2. He is afflicted in their afflictions, like good parents grieve when one of their children is sick! That's how He is with you!

B. "... they are my people, CHILDREN WHO WILL NOT DEAL FALSELY..."

1. THERE IS TRUTH IN THEM. Truthfulness in His people = they walk in what is true; what is according to the truth and adjusts to it. The truth is a moral value that is positive, sincere, honest, frank and in good faith.

2. God has no lies. He has no hypocrisy or falsehood! Lying is falsehood and being hypocritical!

3. Then, YOU MUST DEFINE HOW TO LEAD LIFE IN TRUTH, AND BE IN PEACE WITH GOD AND WITH ONESELF!

4. Let's see what the Word of God says about living at all times with the truth:

a. Proverbs 12:19 "TRUTHFUL LIPS endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment." The truthful man participates in the truth of God and, therefore, remains forever. He who has not remained in a place of height and purity is because they betrayed the truth. Have you been like this or have you loved the truth? Of what is true, what has always been, is and will be true; one can trust it, be confident in it. On the other hand, the lying tongue can only be sustained for “a moment.” Because it has no consistency in itself, it ends up being discovered. Indeed, a lie needs many others to sustain itself and this is very difficult. Its lack of union or relationship leads to contradictory statements. That is why it is said, that before you catch up to a person that limps, you will catch up to a liar!

b. Zechariah 8:16 “These are the things that you shall do: SPEAK THE TRUTH to one another; render in your gates judgments that are TRUE and make for peace…” What we must do is speak the truth with our neighbor. Lies carry hypocrisy and falsehood. Then why speak lies? Why show off? Much less, why hear them? Judge (say) according to the truth. Let's make fair judgments and lead to peace at our doors. Brother, carry the truth and not lies! Because if there is no peace, what will be is a lie, hypocrisy and then destruction will remain at the gates!

c. Malachi 2: 6-7 “TRUE INSTRUCTION was in his mouth, and NO WRONG WAS FOUND on his LIPS. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity. For THE LIPS of a priest should guard knowledge, and people

should seek instruction FROM HIS MOUTH, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.” He is referring to Levi, to the priesthood. “When the priest is upright, many will be upright.” (Matthew Henry) Our Lord is like this, with the truth in His mouth: iniquity (injustice or great evil) cannot be on our lips; in our way of walking. In order to be in justice and peace there must be an absence of lies. If you do not do this, do you know what will happen to all of those around you ("... and he turned many from iniquity")? If you don't produce that effect on those who are with you, there’s something wrong! It's that there’s no truth; you live in hypocrisy!

d. Ephesians 4:25 “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you SPEAK THE TRUTH with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.” The “new man in Christ” has to be stripped of falsehood, to speak truthfully with others. It is a preparation to enter into the kingdom of the Lord. More than telling the truth, it is BEHAVING according to the Christian truth in EVERYTHING; because we are members of each other! Paul does not appeal to the moral law that prohibited lying, but to our condition as fellow members of Christ. In order to be, the Head (Christ) needs a clean, holy body; without hypocrisy or falsehood! It is not possible for the communion of the Church to prosper where there is no sincerity in mutual treatment! If the brain sends false messages to the feet, the person could suffer a fall with which the brain itself could suffer irreparable damage.

e. Ephesians 6:14 "Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth..." The truth is a debt that we owe to all men; of course, here it is to the brothers of the faith. In this case, a lie includes all forms of insincerity and manipulation of the truth, as is exaggeration. The first piece of armor mentioned in Ephesians 6 is the belt of truth. The truth sustains us. We have to apply it throughout our daily lives. By putting everything to the test of truth, we find strength and protection in combat.

5. Are you a child of the High one? A CHILD WHO DOES NOT LIE? So, HE IS YOUR SAVIOR! Amen.
