The Satiety of Bread

TOPIC: "The Satiety of Bread” Ezekiel 16:49-50 Lot lived in Sodom, who is called righteous. His life in Sodom filled him with OTHER THINGS very different from when he was with Abraham. His separation from Abraham was due to the fact that the servants of both of them fought each other, and I assure you that Lot, who was the one who owed Abraham, misled them in the order of respect due to the elder and the one who had the promise (Genesis 13:5-13). Lot had a duty to give the first place to Abraham, to whom it was due. Abraham told Lot to choose the land where to live and very confident he chose the flat lands (Sodom). Lacking fear, he had seen that he had progressed just like Abraham, and he thought, I am the one who can! However, as time went by it was Abraham who freed him from being a prisoner, who prayed for that righteous and thus God delivered him from the fire of Sodom.

I. There was much evil in Sodom (Genesis 13:13) and Lot was full-headed there in Sodom.

A. We should be sure that Lot knew very well what Sodom's evil was.

1. I assure you that you know very well what is the evil that is on earth and everything that surrounds you.

2. You know very well how your life is and how is the life of those around you.

3. You know very well what you have permitted in your life and, in silence, to those around you.

4. For example: today marijuana is accepted by many as medicine. You sit down with the doctors and they suggest it in cream, in pills, etc. And you see it as just a medicine, and not as the drug that does damage!

5. Before, a Panadol tablet was enough, which removed the pain. Now, the pains are "such", and so much complaint, that even morphine is used to placate them! Marijuana is a drug that alters the user's mental state, it is hallucinogenic and is as bad as tobacco is for the lung. It is prohibited, but now the world has been liberated and among them those who do not fear God and do not believe Him!

6. There are many pills that produce a similar effect: they are the Klonopin, Amytal, Nembutal, Iphenobarbutal and Seconal that are prescribed to help sleep, the Ambien, Sonata, Lunesta (imagine that the street name of this is "zombies"), Stivan, Halcion, Librium, Valium, Xanax (his street name is "sweet"), Coduna, and even Tylenol with codeine! Oh God, the list is too long...! You have to open your eyes and understanding!

7. Maybe this is normal for you because you defend yourself very well, but when you use some of this you can tell because the tongue is heavy, the mind is gone and everyone knows that this is wrong!

8. Now, where is the God we trust?

II. In Lot’s time there was no DISGUISE for medication, things were called by their name.

A. In Sodom there was pride, the satiety of bread and the abundance of idleness (Ezekiel 16:49,50).

1. Living in all this evil, the hand of the afflicted and the needy cannot be strengthened!

2. And in Ezekiel’s time, centuries later, Jerusalem was the same as Sodom was in Lot’s time. The same life of pride, satiety of bread, and abundance of idleness!

a. Pride = feeling of superiority before others that causes contempt towards others. Tell me, why does a conversation have to be to humiliate the other? You can think about it, but of course, your pride doesn't allow it!

b. Satiety of bread = it is fullness of bread!

c. Abundance of idleness = laziness, inactivity, no work, waste of time = you sleep, do not cook, do not wash, do not clean, do not prepare food for the family. Evaluate yourself, how is your car, the house, your room, etc.? Then, look at your whole life at home, at work and personally. How is all that?

3. (Jude 1:7) Those of Sodom marched after vices against nature, abominable things (which are strongly condemned for causing repulsion, cruelty, immorality, perversity, depraved things).

4. Everyone knows that there are sins that open doors to those "other things dirtier”. It was pride that turned fallen angels into demons and Jehovah's garden into hell on earth.

5. Gluttony is called here satiety of bread. The abundance of idleness was the hatred of work and the love of comfort which opens the door to "all vices."

6. There is a very appropriate saying: "The bird that feels unconcerned is soon prey to the hunter."

7. With pride, abundance and idleness, the lack of interest in the poor and the helpless went hand in hand.

8. (Vs. 50) Sodom and Samaria lived that and by the time of Ezekiel those in Jerusalem overcame them in evil and sins! That was the wickedness of the holy city, God's favorite city!

9. All this leads to "tarnish" (stain) the flesh because it falls into sins of vices against nature, in orgies, homosexuality, etc. And everyone applauds, even when they know that God burned Sodom!

10. In the final judgment God will burn the whole earth!

11. Lot could not establish the pure in his own! I do not argue that Lot was just, the point here is that we must make war with the truth! Among you there are lies and more lies, there is pride! And here the changes are made by God and what is wrong displeases the Spirit. What is intended? To have incest, orgies, homosexuality, fornication and engenders of evil?

12. This is the Church! It is not the world with envy, with competition; this is not a TV show!

13. What's wrong with you? Do you mutter? You came in dirty with sin and now you show yourself as a star!

14. Brother, do not believe that God needs you, you need God! You are so great because of your pride! You’re better than everyone! It is that you have satiated yourself with bread, you have had fullness of bread, idleness, you do not pray and you do not hear, you are idle, still. You let things happen, endure adultery, the husband is a liar, there is prostitution, rebellion, etc. How ugly and disgusting was the sin of Lot's daughters!

15. What? WHERE YOU WERE NOT A WARRIOR, "THE HUNTER" ATE YOU!

16. The satiety of bread! Escape from that! Amen.
