Is the Science of Our Lord Pleasant To Your Soul

TOPIC: "Is the Science of Our Lord Pleasant To Your Soul?" Proverbs 2:10 SCIENCE is the human knowledge constituted by the set of knowledge (information) acquired. It is to know! Exodus 31:2-4 says: "I have called Bezalel by name...and I have filled him...in SCIENCE...in all kinds of craft to make artistic designs..." This the Lord did for Bezalel to work on the design and construction of the Tabernacle. God filled him with SCIENCE to fulfill what His people needed at that moment.

I. We are believers and servants of the Lord and our SCIENCE comes from the Spirit of God, our KNOWLEDGE.

A. Let it be clear to each one that our knowledge (science) is of the Holy Spirit!

1. How much are your ears waiting for the science that God wants to give you?

2. "...and KNOWLEDGE will be pleasant to your soul..." says here in Proverbs 2:10.

a. May the science be INTERESTING, PLEASANT!

b. To be ENJOYABLE, PLEASANT = delicious, captivating, wonderful, fascinating, charming.

c. God expects it to be pleasant to you. When the wisdom takes control of your mind or heart, the knowledge that you receive of what is good, God wants it to become pleasing in your being instead of unpleasant.

d. It is that for the TRUE BELIEVER the commandments of God are not annoying; the yoke of Christ is easy for Him and His burden is light.

e. When wisdom enters your heart and the science is pleasant (fascinating, delicious), none of His commandments will be a scandal or offense to you.

3. Proverbs 18:15 "The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek SCIENCE. "

a. The wise never stop learning.

b. To learn you have to listen (Proverbs 18:13). KNOWLEDGE is necessary. While we have SCIENCE, we will know what to say and what not. And we may be able to be silent.

c. It is necessary to acquire SCIENCE to speak and give an opinion. If spoken from our point of view we will not be fair, because to speak in each situation SCIENCE is needed.

d. The mind must always be open to instruction and the ear receptive to the SCIENCE (this is to have knowledge).

4. SCIENCE is necessary in the soul; science is creative, it is necessary to be wise; Having it is good for you as a person (Proverbs 19:2 "The soul without science is not good...").

a. If you have SCIENCE, because you have let the Holy Spirit fill you and direct you, then you are a person with KNOWLEDGE!

b. If you lack science, it happens that when you know what you want to do, you do not know how to do it! You have things left "half cooked."

5. Ecclesiastes 1:18 "...the more knowledge, the more grief." You add science and add pain!

a. KNOWLEDGE is acquired by the Holy Spirit.

b. You should know that the wiser you are, the more worries you will have.

c. The more the Holy Spirit lets you see, the more you know and the more it hurts!

d. For many ignorance is the best, but how can we benefit from this life if we are ignorant!

e. We have to build, we have to do what is expected from us! And that is given to us through His Science.

6. Isaiah 5:13 (11-17) "Therefore, my people will go into exile for lack of understanding..."

a. KNOWLEDGE = SCIENCE

b. "...and their glory perished..." Their glory, the one that God had given them as His people.

c. (Vs. 11) The intoxicated, those who wake up in the morning to continue with drunkenness.

d. They go partying and to banquets showing themselves totally indifferent to God and His works!

e. This foolish, inconsistent and reckless behavior was bringing them closer to captivity.

7. Jeremiah 51:17 "Every man is senseless and without knowledge..." (proud or cocky)

a. They have no knowledge, science. God moves away from the pretentious man (who presumes, who boasts about knowledge).

b. The man who has turned away from God cannot have SCIENCE. And we know that SCIENCE is necessary to be able to do everything the Lord has commanded us (Exodus 31:6).

c. They speak but with absence of science. They speak without knowing!

d. They are far from what God thinks. It is from God that they distance themselves, for such reason, the Holy Spirit is not upon them and they cannot love or care for themselves. They do not appreciate the SCIENCE of the Lord!

8. By not allowing the Spirit to fill us with science we will walk blindly, from clumsiness to clumsiness.

9. Open your heart and the SCIENCE will arrive! And when we obtain it, we will take care of it because we will love it!

10. (2 Peter 1:5-11) "...add...to virtue, KNOWLEDGE..." (SCIENCE)

a. Virtue is the usual disposition to do good. To virtue SCIENCE should be added!

b. (Vs. 8) "...to the KNOWLEDGE of our Lord Jesus Christ."

c. Thus the fear of the Lord will come to our lives and we will walk according to His Word.

d. Could the Science of the Lord be pleasing to your soul? Amen.
