Testimonies of the Sovereign

STUDY: # 1024 CHURCH IN THE HOUSES FROM: MARCH 26, @ APRIL 2, 2019

TOPIC: “Testimonies of the Sovereign" Acts 5:32 (John 1:9) "The true light, which gives light to EVERYONE, was coming into the world." (Vs.10) "... and the world WAS MADE THROUGH HIM ..." YOUR TESTIMONY IS THE DECLARATION THAT DEMONSTRATES THE TRUTH OF WHO CHRIST IS! Peter and the disciples were the first, because they witnessed Him after His resurrection. There is so much silence in the mouths of the so-called righteous! The mouths of today's believers have been filled with jokes, they keep up with an appearance, just looking good to conquer benefits for themselves. They speak of worldly issues, but WHEN YOU SPEAK OF THE SOVEREIGN, OF HE WHO MADE THE WORLD, EVERYTHING CHANGES! You want to conquer the world for yourself, but remember, He made the world! Let us all testify about the one who loves our soul!

I. Are you a witness to Him? Has he stopped working on your behalf?

A. I will tell you about men for whom the Lord was everything!

1. (Isaiah 63:7) "I will recount the steadfast love of the LORD, the praises of the Lord, according to all that the LORD has granted us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel, that he has granted them according to his compassion, according to the abundance of his steadfast love."

2. (Malachi 3:16) "Then those who feared the LORD spoke with one another. The LORD paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the LORD and esteemed his name."

3. (Acts 4:20) "… for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard." (Peter and John)

4. (Jeremiah 20:9) "If I say, ‘I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,’ there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot."

B. The disciples lived their lives talking about what their ears heard and what their eyes saw.

1. (Luke 1: 2,3) What great conversations! "… just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus ..."

2. (Acts 1:22) "Beginning from the baptism of John until the day when He was taken up from us, one of these men must become with us a witness to His resurrection." (Peter)

3. (Acts 5:28; 32) "We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us" (Vs.32) "And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him." (Peter)

4. (Acts 10:39) For Peter, his life was to speak continuously about His Master and Savior: "And we are witnesses of all that He did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree."

5. (Acts 13:31) "And for many days He appeared to those who had come up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now His witnesses to the people." (Paul) (Vs.32)

"And we bring you the good news that what God promised (of the Messiah who would save you from your sins) to the fathers ..."

6. (2 Peter 1:16) "For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty." None of His glory was hidden from them, that's why they lived talking about Him as witnesses.

7. Have you thought about what Isaiah says? (Isaiah 43:10) "‘You are my WITNESSES,’" declares the LORD, and ‘my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me."

8. (Acts 5:19, 20) "But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought (free to bear witness of the Great one) them out, and said, ‘Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.’” The Angel describes the Christian faith as: this life! How much glory in this life with Christ!

9. (Acts 18:9-10) "And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.’"

10. (Acts 22:14) Jesus revealed Himself to Paul and through Ananias, He said, "‘The God of our fathers appointed you to know His will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from His mouth.’"

11. (Titus 2:15) "These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you." Christ cannot be under estimated, He is God and outside of Him there is nothing else.

12. Write your name on this beautiful page of eternity; your name as a loyal witness of the One whom you have known and who has done, does and will do wonders in your life. Amen.
